**** them kid, they shouldn't be allowed to be parents.

Jonathan's family did something quite dispicable on Christmas morning. Having him unwrap an empty Xbox box with some shirts inside -- while on video -- and then record whilst everyone laughs at him. Naturally, he got upset and cried over it. For the love of all that is holy in the gadget-loving world, that is so wrong. Despite the fact his family told Jonathan multiple times in the video, "C'mon, you know we can't afford an Xbox!".

It's Christmas morning. For **** sake.

But, all is not lost.

After witnessing the video, distressed viewers got in touch with John to offer him a free Xbox 360. Engadget and even Microsoft have been in touch and will be personally sending him a new Xbox in light of the footage.

Don't worry John, OnRPG will open their own fund and send you something to deal with your twisted family.

Any ideas on what we could get him?

Some games for the XBOX 360? It's only fair considering he's recieving a 360 for free.

No, they just brought it out and said "Well, here's you Xbox."

He ended up buying one himself later, and a PS3. Almost makes me regret getting him panties for Christmas. D:<

Ladies, ladies, ladies.

Don't flip a lid, Engadget have been in touch with the family and no such video or confirmation of an Xbox 360 gift has been found. The fact that Christmas was two months ago doesn't really stand for... Anything at all.

Stevz

The plan - Brilliant. I actually lawl'd at how they executed it.

The reason - In itself was poor. If you can't afford a 360 then don't usher anything like that to a kid who is on hope that they can get one... And it was at Christmas too.

The future - Boy, I'm glad I haven't done that to my kids, let alone have a child. I wonder what lesson that kid has learnt... Probably that the family is a bunch of [insert degrading slur here] or that Christmas holds no value. The rest of the family, probably not to ever record such an event and post it on youtube for all to deliver the huge hammer of judgement apon their souls.

I can say now that's been archived in the internet for the purpose of flaming such methods of cruelty. I'm suprised anyone could call that parenting (Hypocrite...). For your sake, power_gamer_6, they'd better.

That kid is going to shoot his parents one day.

Poor kid, he must have been so sad. He had a murderous face on after he found out they got him shirts.

I wouldn't mind buying him a couple months of membership, or Halo 3, I have extra accessories sitting around the house.

I agree with powergamer, the only system my parents ever bought for me was an super Nintendo. I've had to buy all my systems since then with my own money. It certainly hasn't done me any harm.

What the parents in the video did was nasty, obviously, but all the same I don't think people should be talking about sending him a gaming system just because he cried on the internet.

and for all you people saying stuff like "he will be scarred forever", you need to grow up and get into real life.

Yes, everyone is over reacting. That shit sucks...really. But **** it, if that is the most traumatic thing that happens to that kid, he had a good life.

Its the same as giving someone a fake lottery ticket. Sure, they are older...and able to deal with it better (in some cases anyway) but its best to get ready for disappointment at an early age. :)

Especially because he got one, I dunno...I think its pretty funny...the kid got owned, then his parents did. :D

I know I never tried to get an early look at my presents. And he ended up getting the damn thing anyway. My parents would never have even considered buying me something like a game system that cost that much for Christmas, especially at that age. It'll only encourage him to believe he's entitled to spend all his time playing it, and then demand that they get him the next system when it comes out.

You should at least have to do something pretty damn substantial for your family to earn that kind of massive reward, so that you can actually appreciate it.

I know itas WRONG!! I mean I WANTED THE 800 DOLLAR ONE T T -Sob-

Uhh anyways, I meant, they have him opena box with nothing in it, so they can just havea good lagh, and watch him cry( Thats what their heatrless for)

and thhen around Christmas, they gave him the real one.

Plus if they have enough money to afford a camcorder, they can afford a 360

Thus the cruelty of Ghetto people.

Edit: The kid's hair reminds me of Loni from Tales of Destiny two

Okay? <3

Stereotyping is a generalization or assumption usually based solely on physical attributes, and appearance.

You're saying that Shadowsworn got all of that info from the kid's appearance? What made it so? Is it because he's black, or crying, or young?

I never thought that such a known member on this board would stereotype, as you say. (I personally think he's just making assumptions, and not stereotyping.)

How did it scar him for life and destroy his hopes and dreams? Seriously, if anything it helped him. SUPPLYING little kids consoles destroy his hopes and dreams becuase it just gives them more of a reason to sit at home and play a video game.
