So I just got done registering for the SAT online and I'm kinda dreading it. Anyone else register for it recently/want to share your awesome scores to impress us simple minded people. I guess those of you who aren't going to take can come rant about how it's a waste of time and the rest of us are fools for taking it too.

I've been meaning to register for it, haven't had the money. Finally got a job, finally, so I'll be able to register once I get the hours rolling. I've talked to a girl who was disappointed in getting a 1600(1600-1800 I can't remember) on it, I'd probably never get close to that. Not sure of the scores of anyone else.

What the hell is SAT online?

LOLLOLOLOLOLOLOL!1!11

Anyways, I took it in 8th grade. Meh, it was just... meh...

I think I got about 500-600 in each section?

So that adds up to about 1650?

I was expecting to do better... -_- But whatever, it doesn't count in 8th grade, so it's all good.

What was funny though, was after the test had ended, I reached down to pick up some of my supplies, and there were like 20 hairs on the ground, all of which had accumulated due to me pulling out and fiddling with my hair while taking the test. XD

Geeze... don't even worry about it you'll probably never take it anyway.

And nope, I'm doing it on June 7th cause thats when my mom wanted me to do it for whatever reason... plus I don't even have the SAT book yet and I wanna have awhile to look over that. And actually I don't think a 1600 is that great anymore. The new scale goes up to 2400.

Registered the other day, not too bothered about it, I had a massive score on the practice. I've actually been working harder lately, and actively studying for the first time ever, so I should probably be able to make top marks.

Oh.. and don't play SAT Online, the gms are all dicks, and the game itself is just a load of crappy trivia.

My mistake. The SAT is just a standardized test over here in the states that's pretty much required to get into college. Then there is the ACT which is another similar test but I don't think as many colleges care about the ACT.

Actually, it is the opposite, mostly all colleges and universities accept the ACT.

I took the SAT back in either 7th or 8th grade. My reading score was pretty crappy, I think it was around 505. But my math score was around 565, which isn't far off from what some colleges ask for minimum.

I plan on taking it again soon. I really want a test SAT, like one that won't get counted or recorded, just for me to see how hard/easy things are and want I need to work more on.

Is that possible? Do they give "test SAT's" to people past grade 8?

when i lived in louisiana, we took a test every year and our score is based on the percent of ppl who had a lower score than you. since 1st(?) grade, ive had a 90% or higher, meaning the numver of correct answers i had was more than 90% of the people who took the test (in the same grade as me)
my highest score was in 4th grade, i got the highest score you could possibly get, a 99%, meaning that i had a higher amount of correct answers than 99% of all other 4th graders in louisiana. i live in texas now and in the yearly test here, the score is based on correct answers, its weird cuz my score is some random number like 3642 or sumtin like that, so i think each correct answer is worth a different amount of point depending on the difficulty of the question or sumtin. i think ima do pretty well wen i take my SATs next year XD

It's called the PSAT. Practice Standardized Assessment Test.

I'm actually pretty sure she got an 1800, I don't know anyone personally that has ever even gotten that high, I mostly overhear scores around 1200. lol Then again my school district has quite a few C, D and F schools hahaha and then we have a school that's like one of the top schools in the country.

No, that's not what I meant.

www.collegeboard.com

They allow you to take a practice SAT test. Just like the SAT, but it doesn't get recorded or anything. They give you the answers as well as explanations as well.

Like I said, that's the PSAT. It's the SAT without the writing part, they don't record your scores, but you get your test and scores back.

You have to take the initiative to get involved with SAT Practice test that's more like for studying for the test. You do the PSAT at a testing site, like at school here we got to do it in like 10th grade or something. The PSAT is a more accurate rendition of the SAT test.

It's not the PSAT..

Did you even look at it? There IS a writing part. It's just a practice test with similar questions to the SAT. Some that might even be on there, or have been on there.

PSAT is something much more important, as you can get into some honor societies that look amazing on a college application if you get good scores on it.

Yeah, if you do well on the PSAT you can get scholarships. That's what my brother did.

And then he got a perfect score on the old SAT's... :eye:

I just took the SATs yesterday!!!!
The March SATs are uaully the hardest of them all, because there are so many people. I think that the testers give a harder test if there are more people.

My highest is a 1900. Low, but high compared to me first test (1440)...

If you panicking, try getting a hold of the 2004 May Test. My teacher says that the tests repeat themselves every 4 years, because Collegeboard is too lazy and poor to make a new test...

He is talking about an online SAT test.

On mine i took the PSAT (which excludes writing) and I got like a 1770 which was above average for the grade above me. 1770/2000 is pretty good i think :P On the actual SAT if I got the same %'s then I would make around a 2000 ((I think)) which is hella good ^_^

I took the PSAT a few months back and didn't get the score back only the percentile (9x).

The PSAT is graded just like the SAT. So each section is wroth 800 points total. Which makes the total without writing 1600. Which makes getting a 1770 impossible.

I believe he meant including LOL
and if he had mistaken that I doubt he got over a 1500.
