Ever since I was like 8 or so, I played Runescape. Well lately I was hacked and quit :(. That's not the point though, the point is that I am looking for a new game.
Since I played runescape for 4 or so years, I enjoy runescape styled games. The main problem is, is that I really can't download anything that is above 100MB because I have dial-up. Lately, I tryed to download Dofus, which is 157MB and that is too much for me because for some reason, my internet can't stay on long enough for it to download all of it. Also, if there is a game that is a applet, that I don't have to download, that would be great. One more thing; It must be free or free with pay for additional features.

Thanks.

I can't recall runescape (either never played it or forgot about it) so I can't help you out with recommending a game, but I can help with your download issue.

Get a program called Flashget. It is a FAR superior dling program than the default windows one, you can pause it, close your connection, then restart it later (and it seems to download significantly faster).

Thank you so much. I'm downloading flashget right now. No need to explain to you runescape now. Again, thank you.

There isn't many games like runescape (I know somebody is going to read this and think I'm "Retarded"), RuneScape is a Java game, about 10 YEARS ahead of its time, the closest to runescape would be a browser/text-based game. Thats pretty much all runescape is text-based, but pictures not a blank screen.

The closest i can think of is Sherwood (http://maidmarian.com). The Problem with Sherwood is that it is really basic and [boring]. You can try downloading software, but do NOT use Torrents Downloaders using Seeds and peer-to-peer downloading, trust me there is a lot of viruses to be gotten from those, FlashGet maybe a Torrent downloader, if it isnt use it. Be wary of a software called BitComet, it's a Torrent, peer-to-peer downloading software, it also opens up your ports when you use it (not a good idea).

EDIT:: FlashGet uses BT or BitTorrent files, be careful with what you are downloading.

Well... If you want a flash game then you should try Adventure Quest.
I love that game for some reason I don't know why...

I'll keep that in mind Devine, thanks.

I have managed to try Adventure Quest and I just really didn't like it. Thanks for your help everyone.

One last thing, if my internet shuts off without me pausing it, will it mess up the download?

I don't know if it will, in my experience with those things when my internet went down it would stop the download and you have to restart because it wont find the file it started again (z0mg) XD

it'll open so many doors and it'll be a much better experience but other than that just stick with runescape

No, if it did I wouldn't have had to get a BitTorrent downloader as well. Flashget downloads just like the default window downloader, but you can split the file into up to 10 parts to make it try and download them all at once and you can stop / start / save the file in a temporary folder for easy browsing.
***At least my version cannot download BitTorrent, I haven't looked if there was a newer version or not***

I think you'll be good (unless the computer crashes, then I don't know), the connection speed will just drop off (the program shouldn't close), and then you can pause it and restart it later when you are connected again.

HOW THE **** HAVE YOU NOT PLAYED RUNESCAPE???????

Apparently during Runescape's popularity I was doing other things, and then when I finally started getting into MMORPG'S there were better games out there?
