Also you don't need to invite the hacker into the guild for him to disband it he can do it from anywhere.

Apparently it happens when Guild Masters trade, enter the cash shop, enter the FM, or log off.

Then if that's the case, why can't they not do those things, except log off.

The sleepywood glitch got IP banned. Unless he got another computer(or introduced these hacks to others) it isn't him.
Its not GM's fault. There really is no way to block packet editing.

I didn't go to FM and didn't trade anyone but I still got hacked. It happened when I got off the boat (I think) Cause I went to take a shower while I was on the boat and when I got back the guild was disbanded.

Now, because of the hackers I'm suspicious towards peoples fame now... I don't know if her fame is legit or not but damn thats pretty high for her level.

So far with all the information that's been discovered by fellow Maplers, it seems that the Guild Masters are the only one's who are in any danger. The master of my guild (Newbie we'll call him, in case some creep decides to track him down) is currently in hiding. He's just jumping from place to place and changing channels whenever someone else comes around. Newbie's also been joking around when he see's that the guild master of another guild was also in hiding. Quite funny if you think about it.

Just from the way things looks, this is quite an advanced packet edit, which means that this wouldn't be released on any script kiddie websites. The people who are working this are professional and although they may be immature, they aren't the script kiddies we're used to. All I can say is for all the Guild Masters to take heed and either take a screenshot of everyone in the guild, kick everyone out of the guild, and play another characters for a while, or just stay in hiding.

If I find more information about this matter, I'll be sure to post, assuming that other people haven't gotten to it first.

But scanian and windian were hit pretty bad.

Scania, Khaini, and now Broa are confirmed to have been hit, and hit bad.


I was on when Broa was hit, and probably 60% of guilds, and almost all of the major ones (Silvanus, Tranquil, Extravagance) were disbanded. It was horrible.

The glitch was that whenever someone entered the sauna at Sleepywood, they would d/c and unable to leave because the moment you spawn you crashed.

Okay guys, let me clarify a couple of things about this "Fire Alarm" business. I know not everyone is an information technology professional, so I'm going to try and avoid difficult terminology or concepts whenever possible at the cost of not going in depth.

1. Look at the timing of this. The precaution to avoid getting hacked is to stay offline for three days during an event when you need to login everyday to qualify for the prize.

2. Look at the 'proof' that basilmarket presents. It's a bunch of whispers! Seriously? That's your proof? I could whisper whatever I want to whoever I want, that doesn't make it true.

3. I keep informed about the current and upcoming hacking situation on maplestory by reading several forums where hacking is supported. They say it's a complete load.

4. There is no way to use the same type of program to hack accounts as they did to hack guilds. Simply put, guilds were disbanded by sending malicious data to the server (that is, to maplestory, not to your computer). The server mistook this malicious data for valid data requesting a guild be disbanded by the founder and responded by disbanding it. There is no way to retrieve your login information this way.

5. They would need to somehow get a keylogger onto your computer for them to get your login info. As long as you don't download files from shady websites (in fact, stay away from shady websites altogether).

6. There have been worms in the past that do not require any action on your part to infect your system. However, for many many reasons, it would just be too much trouble to make one of these for hacking maplestory.

7. A hacking attempt of this magnitude would result in jailtime.

Bellocan has been hit, like I said in my first post. I'd say over 60% of our guilds are gone.

Today April 4th at around 3:05 (Eastern standard) Windia was hit by a stream of guild hackers. The biggest most profitable guilds have been hit so far.
