So I've been hearing some good arguments between these two, and I'm wondering what you all like. It's not necessarily what you have, but what you think is better. Personally, I like PC's more for customizability and gaming.

PC for gaming. Simple as that. Plus, I don't really like how Mac's operate. I can never really figure them out. Coruse, the built in camera on some of the new Mac notebooks are freaking awsome. My friend had one, and a bunch of us literally spent hours messing with the camera function.

Both systems have thier ups and downs. Heres a basic list:

PC-Pros=
Gaming
Custom Building(compition on hardware, lower costs, customization)

PC-Cons=
Virus, Trojans, spyware(when using windows)
Hardware quickly becomes obsolete

Mac-Pros=
No viruses, trojans, ect
Hardware lasts a long time(old hardware is able to run new programs well)
The OS is extreamly clean and fast
Handles music, pictures, and videos better then anything else(making/editing or viewing)
Powerful little beasts.

Mac-Cons=
no gaming support(unless you have the new Intel based Mac)

Really, I can't think of anything else.
PCs are good for gaming and cheapness of hardware, but other then that... they don't have much going for them. Especally considering that the new Intel based Macs can run windows, and the macs even run it better then a PC.
There is also absolutly no viruses for it. None. At all. Now, some may say that this is because not alot of people use it, but those people don't understand how hackers work.
The very fact that there isn't a single virus for it would mean that more people would be trying to make a virus for it. I mean, just imagine how famous the first person to make a mac virus will be! He will become legendary!
That, and there is a contest with a $250000 prize for the first person to make a Virus for OSX. The contest has been running for well over a year, and no one has collected the prize so far.

And the OSX is such a speedy operating system.
You know all of those fancy graphic things in Vista that require at least a 128MB Graphics? OSX has had those same graphical features since it's first release, and I currently have OSX 10.3.9 running on an iMac at 333Mhz, 256MB RAM, and about 2-6 MB SGRAM video. Lets see someone try to run Vista on a PC with those stats. AND SMOOTLY TOO, without disabling anything.
Aint going to happen.

Heres what I suggest.
PC=Great Desktops
Macs=Great Laptops

What I said still applys.

Mac's primary use is graphic design (3-D, 2-D). Now, you're not going to get the extream FPS that you will get with PCs on games, but when doing 3-D modeling, you don't pay attention to FPS, you pay attention to the quality and detail.
A Mac can handle a 3-D model alot better and faster then a PC could.

You really seem to be going on about OS9 and lower...
1. The OSX is undisputedly the cleanest and softest interface. Just look at it:
http://img151.imageshack.us/img151/14/desktop8cg.th.jpg (http://img151.imageshack.us/my.php?image=desktop8cg.jpg)
Far from "hard and ugly"
2. And??? I don't use an intel chip. Never have. I use AMD. If you think Intel is the best, well... your ignorance explains why you have such a huge miss-understanding of the mac
3. Not true. Thats a commen mis-conception. Yes, the PPC Macs can't play much for games(but the new Intel ones can do everything a PC can), in the rest of the program list, there is a Mac equivilent
4. Like said before, old stuff sucked. But, some things that you should know, the original windows, it was compleatly based off of the Mac. So much so that there was almost a law-suit over the like-ness of the windows to the Mac. And Again, with Vista, they are taking all of apple's ideas.
5. Not a reason to hate it. I'm a gamer, but I can appriciate the power behind the Mac. And so can the rest of my gamer friends.

And I often hear alot about the one button mouse. Yea, that is annoying, but you don't have to live with that. Any USB mouse will work with a Mac, any of them. So you can put in one with two buttons, and a roller, and all buttons on it will work. That, and they now do have a more normal mouse that gets shipped with the Macs. So, that point again, is Moot.

And yes, those new comercials are quite annoying, but they are true. Havn't seen one yet that isn't true.

Much like Linux, people hate what they don't understand...

With a pinch of FabianN pointing out people ignorance. (Which I love by the way...)

Most of you will say PC's just because of the wider choice of software and games. Macs can be capable of gaming, but they aren't really designed for that.
Most companies will develop software for Windows just because most people use it... Wouldn't you?

Not saying that I support Microsoft... But I will still use Windows just because of the wide range of software that was created for it.

Sooo... If I had to choose between a PC and a Mac, I would choose PC. (I'll just install Linux partitions on it).

Ooo.. I wonder what you would choose in terms of looks and prettyfulness?

Actully, not.
The Mac hardware is stronger and lasts alot longer.
In a PC, the latest hardware will become obsolete and un-usable in a few years, on Macs the hardware will be able to keep up to the standards for a very long time.

And I'll say this again, the new Intel Macs can run EVERYTHING a PC can, even Vista with DX 10.

I say Mac, especially if you get the new one that allows you to run Windows XP as a program(i think as a program, it may just have 2 OS's installed) and let's you have all the features of a PC and a Mac, meaning you can still have the cool interface and programs of a Mac but still have the games and functions of a PC that Macs don't have. I wish I knew about that b4 I got my new computer :(

No, Macs can play games, but most games arn't configered to run on a Mac. Some companies like Blizzard always makes a Mac version of thier game.
But now with the Intel versions, the mac can do EVERYTHING a PC can do.
