Mist Covered All of Gaia. The mist had unknown effects on the World.
In the Center of Gaia, was the Maple Tree. The Maple Tree, the Tree of Life, had been slowly dying out. What were the causes? None Questioned. None existed.
The Tree with it's Mystical Powers, foresaw a Dark Age on Gaia.

The Maple Tree, Sprouted 5 seeds, to intervene with Gaia's untold yet bleak Future.

Year: 147 B.M.

After almost 2 centuries, the Seeds have developed into "Avatars".
A Warrior, the Avatar of Strength
A Bowman, the Avatar of Sense
A Mage, the Avatar of Knowledge
A Thief, the Avatar of Stealth

And...

A Special Avatar; One that could wield all Powers: Strength,Sense, Knowledge, and Stealth

They were still young, almost 3 years and they have developed there powers, strange to their world. There were only 5 Beings on Gaia at this time. They acted toward each other as Brother and Sister.

Year: 039 B.M.

Closing in was The Maple Tree's death, it had grown pale and shriveled. Even its Leaves turned to fade. It was soon the Time when Havoc and Calamity Ruled
Gaia. It was soon the 5th Avatar grew Corrupt. It was soon when Gaia would ask new Beings, Less Experienced Being to come to it's Aid. It was closing in to the time the 5th Avatar used the Mist to his advantaged.

Year: 001 B.M.

The 5th Avatar grew more and more Corrupt as Time flowed by, and the 4 other Avatars could not Help the fact that, the 5th was being engulf in Darkness. It was Impossible to Persuade the 5th; Since the 5th had all their Powers. The 5th had used the Mist to Spawn Monsters. The First Mass Denizen of Gaia. Monsters varying from Slime to Golems. Treants to Barlogs. Worms to Wraiths. The 5th had not done wrong doing yet. But With an Army of Creatures at his side, and Only 4 heroes to Stop Him.
The Warrior, Bowman, Mage, and Thief were stunned by Fear.

This was the Year The Maple Tree Had Died. As its roots took lift off Gaia, The Lands and The Seas had broken Apart. Creating Islands.

Victory Island was the Center of Gaia Now.
From a Gravitional disturbance, a Piece of Victory Island had been Lifted in the Air.
This Floating Island was named: Maple Island. Where All New Stars are Born.
Asside of Victory Island was Ossyria, a Celetial Island, where Technology Flourished First.

Year: 076 M.S. (Maple Story) Beta Era

As the 4 avatars feared for the 5th Avatar, they had only prayed to the Spirit of the Maple, left by the Maple Tree. As an answer, From another Planet,
Planet Earth, had seen its calling. Beings from Earth were Called Users.
And those Users, Launched into the Skies and Flew as Stars.

In the Atmosphere, they turned into stardust, but Landing unto Maple Island, they were Re-created to the "Users" personal. Name, Clothes, and Stats.
Many... Joined the Avatars.

During this Time, It was Not Sure if This Method of Reinforcements were Stable.
This was Called the Beta Era.

The Avatars Limited the Entry of New Denizens.

Year: 154 M.S. Beta Era

Now, with Enough "Users" to balance the weight of Monsters. The 5th began to Fear. His Mind was Convoluted, he could not Think Straight. His Mind was Tearing.
He Unleashed the Monsters into an All out War with the "Users" and Avatars.
Slowly came the Decline of Beta Era Users. Too Many Monsters. Too Many The Same. The War had come to a Standstill

Meanwhile, Ossyria's Technology Manifested... More and More

Year: 658 M.S. Official Era

Now that Ossyria had grown into a Huge Celetial Island, Orbis
Had Created New Gummi Blocks, Facinating Structures. Toys.
There was No More Room to Expand on Ossyria.

Thus, Came to Be Ludiblum. All the Native Denizens of this Island had been built off Toys, or Gummi Blocks. Ludiblum was a Man-Made Island.

Year: 1029 M.S. Official Era

Ludiblum’s Construction had Ended. The 5th's Maloria had grown to make him blind. He Could not Understand the Good the "Users" have done to Gaia.
He slowly Summoned even more Monsters. Stronger and Bigger.

Too Big for "Users" to Solo. Meaning Only a Party of "Users" Could Surpass Such Tasks of Defeating Large Foes.

This became known as PQ. Party Quests.

Lazier "Users" became Native to Gaia. They've always asked for Help.
Icarus. Kanji. Manji. Rina. And Several More "Users" had become part of Gaia.
This was the Time that Population once Again Grew on Gaia.

Victory Island was Filled with Newcomers
Ossyria with veterans.

Finally, with the Geyan War (User vs. Monster) become a more common event. It became Part of Daily Life. The 4 Avatars had adopted Apprentices, to survey the events of Victory Island.
A Warrior in Perion. Dubbed Perion the Warrior City.
A Bowman in Henesy. Dubbed Henesy the Archer City.
A Mage in Ellinia. Dubbed Ellinia the Mage City.
A Thief in Kerning. Dubbed Kerning the Thief City.

The 4 Avatars fled to Ossryia in a Rural and Snowy Town called: El Nath.
Isolated, yet they still teach New Apprentices their Special and Secret Abilities.

Turmoil has reached all of Gaia. And though The 4 Avatars have stayed Isolated in El Nath, There Powers slowly Faded Away. They may still have the Powers of Teaching new Apprentices their Ways, but No more can they Fight Along side the Youth of Gaia. They are Secluded in Cloaks in a 2-story building. Monsters on Ossyria and Victory Island have grown stronger. Even darker. Treants become chopped. They Have Axes attached. The Sun slowly turned their light brown bark into a darker more shady Tone. Gaia, was beginning to Face the Destruction of the 5th's unjust decisions.

Day in and Day Out. New "Users" join the Daily War against the Monsters.
But This Day was special. Suddenly, the Sun vanished for a second and Maple Island was eclipsed in eternal Darkness. Dark Mushrooms and Dark Slimes slowly spawned from the ground - up. And New "Users" faced calamity. They knew they could not match the strength of these Monsters. It was Chaos. Tombstones and Ghosts arose from the ground. Dozens and Dozens continued in a Trail. More and More "Users" died. Finally, a calling was made. The Avatars were alerted and hurried to Maple Island.
Meanwhile, 4 "Users" from Earth were mid-space, traveling to Gaia. They did not know each other, nor did no know what fate they have been given to them by the Spirit of the Maple. Their Journey was about to begin, as soon as they arrived on Maple Island!

Finally Landing upon the Soil of Maple Island, the 4 new youths met an unpleasant welcome. As the 4 reformed from Star Dust, it seemed that No other "Users" were coming. And All on Maple Island were Dead. It was only the 4 on the Floating Island!

Tuan had reformed First. He wield in his Hand a Sword! Next was Elyssa, an Intellegent Girl. She had no weapon to begin with. Alit, was the quick devil. He wielded a Dagger. Last to Reform was Hinton. He too did not reform with a weapon. The odds of these four surviving the masses of Dark Mushrooms and Slimes were slim... A Sword, a Dagger... and two Weaponless "Users"... and they're only hope - the 4 avatars, which are on their way all the way from El Nath.

A giant black, shadow less bubble tail swung in front of Alit. He Jumped Backwards. And as soon as he was stable, Tuan had chopped off the tail off the Dark Slime.
Elyssa had been stunned, she was on the ground and off guard. A Dark Mushroom, had used stunning spores to keep her in a paralysis. The Mushroom... No, 3 mushrooms were headed right for her.

Hinton had Rolled on the Ground, and Swiftly picked up a rock, and Threw the Rock into the Mushrooms. Now the Mushrooms headed for Hinton. More Slimes had circled around Alit and Tuan.

Tuan - "Alit, right? Go Run for those two others. I'll "tank" these guys."
Alit - "Sure... But You're not the leader! "

The Rag-tag team of the 4 have survived only minutes. But They've already gotten to some last resorts. Alit began running. A mushroom had hopped directly infront of him. With his speed, he instanly Flipped right over the Mushroom. His Speed had gotten so Quick so Fast, it was Unbelievable. He rushed to aid Elyssa and Hinton.

Hinton had been hiding behind a few trees. And throwing rocks to sway the Dark Monsters away from Elyssa who was still Paralyzed. Finally, his escapade had stopped... As he turned to run, he Bumped into a Large Dark Mushroom. He was then stunned as well. The Mushroom had begun to hop onto him. He was going to Be Crushed! Elyssa, finally released from the Spores had quickly thrown a rock to take the Mushrooms Attention. This gave Hinton atTime to Roll! And So he Did.
Landing, the Mushroom had missed Hinton by only a few inches. Suddenly it was stabbed on the top. It was Alit, with his acrobatics.

Tuan was left alone, to fight half a dozen of slimes! He sliced away with his sword. But rarely affected the slimes. It was impossible to damage the slimes physically. They're like gelatin, they only duplicate as you continue to slice. Only Magic could affect the Slimes.

No New Users, Should be to use magic. This was insanity. Slimes kept regenerating, and armadas of Mushrooms surrounded the Group of 4.

Alit - "What's your name, girl?"
Elyssa - "Elyssa"
Alit - "Y'know, you look kinna smart. Could you help a bit?"
Elyssa - "I'm still new... I don’t have any "Skills" books yet."
Hinton - "Well, try to learn them on your own."
Alit - "Make it quick too... Please!"
Elyssa - "Are You Kidding?! I'll Try..."

Tuan joins the group near a tree. They've become swarmed. Tuan begins to swing his sword like a mad-man. He had hoped to make a Heroic last Stand.
But As soon as he closed his eyes, Hinton Pulled him back.

Hinton - "Don't get yourself kill man... There's only 4 of us!"

Alit, runs up and jumps onto the Tree. From there, he chucked his Dagger into an opening in the swarm. The Monsters breifly but suddenly stop. Elita picks up a Stick.

Alit - "Elyssa, I'm Counting on You”
Elyssa - "Alright, I'll Try!"

Elyssa, began concetrating on the small twig in her hands. Seconds passed by. For the four it felt like minutes, even hours. The Monsters closed in more. Closer and Closer!

Hinton - "Alit, right? Help Me Up"
Alit - "Okay"

Alit Jumps down and Helps pull Hinton up the Tree. Hinton signals Alit to throw the stones he brought to the outer monsters. This should help them, and confuse the monsters. Tuan counted to attack endless at incoming enemies.
Time became slower and slower. Seconds became Minutes and Minute to Hours.
Time was also running short. Dozens and Dozens more monsters spawned from the Dark Portals. The 4 "Users" were surrounded

Busting with Magic was Elyssa's Stick. From the tip emitted large magical spheres.
She flung the Sphere into a Slime. It inflicted severe Damage! She continued to concentrate and unleash more magical spheres.... as Tuan fended her from any Mushrooms or Slimes. Hinton and Alit continued to peg rocks at Mushroom Caps and Eyes. Elyssa, continued to reek havoc upon the slimes!

The group survived several more minutes. But, they're triumphant come back, soon led to a deftly defeat, Elyssa's magic had slowly depleted and Tuan's Stamina was at its Max. There were no more Stones for Alit and Hinton to Throw.
It was at the brink of the 4 "Users" lives.

At the Brim of the 4’s End, the Avatars of El Nath had arrived. Quite convenience that the 4 Avatars just arrived. The Third Avatar *Mage, unleashed Flames Fury. The Slimes were decimated. The Second *Archer, barraged the Mushrooms nearly infinitely. The First and Fourth *Warrior and Thief, just stood watching. Their help was not required.

Slowly the Slimes Decimated. The Dark Portals faded away. And finally, no more Dark Monsters remained on Maple Island. Finally, more “Users” arrived. Masses continued to Arrive.

Alit – “What?! We were left alone, and they just come after….”
Hinton – “Yeah, that’s not fair; but Alit, at least we’re still alive.”
Elyssa – “I’m with… Hinton”

The Avatars began to walk toward the group of four. They seemed fascinated about the survival of those four. But confused, why Dark Monsters invaded Maple Island. The 4th began to explain.

4th – “Wow, Lucky are we? Can’t Believe you wimps survived.”
Alit – “What was that?!”
3rd – “Stop. It was a sight, to see such novices survive”
Tuan – “Yeah! Our Party kinna rocked!”
Hinton – “Why did “Users” only come now?”
2nd – “That is because we sealed the entrance A.S.A.P.”
1st – “We were worried for novices.”
Alit – “Yeah, and left 4 of us to die.”
Elyssa – “Oh, c’mon Alit, they didn’t know.”
Alit – “Right….”

The Avatars told the four youths to follow them. They were to Leave Maple Island and Begin they’re Lives in Victory Island. It was the beginning of another adventure.

The four took a ship from Maple Island and were on board an Airship. They were in the skies. Elyssa was enjoying the view. Tuan continued to practice his swordsmanship. Hinton had taken a seat, and began drawing figures. It looked like a strategy of some sort. Only He could Understand. Alit, was jumping around playing practicing his acrobatics. He was flipping and dashing. He was a ninja.

Almost half an hour passed. And finally the Airship arrived at the port of Lith Harbor.
The avatars instructed them to where the should go to fulfill their needs.

Alit was told to head for Kerning and meet the Apprentice Avatar of Thievery, Dark Lord.
Tuan was told to head for Perion, where he would meet “Dances with Barlog”.
Elyssa was told to head for Ellinia where the Apprentice Avatar, Grendal resided.
Hinton was told to head for Henesy to take Archery lessons with Althena.

This was the end of the Four’s first Party. But Gaia, was Still Small. They may again, meet and be summoned to fight against any Darker Evils. But till that time would come they would each live separate lives…

The Party disbanded. The avatars left. Alit waved goodbye to Tuan, Hinton and Elyssa. He then, headed for the Item and Weapon shops. Hinton also, began walking away. He too waved good bye. He checked his map, and left for Henesy. Elyssa looked around. She seemed amazed at the beautiful site Lith Harbor beholds. After minutes of dazing she took a stick, and left for Ellinia. As for Tuan, he looked at his map.

Tuan - "What?! That ain't cool, I've got the farthest to walk!"

Then a man in a booth took his attention. His name was Shanks.

Shanks - "I can see you'd like a short cut to Perion."
Tuan - "You know of one?"
Shanks - "Well.... You See... With a Tiny fee... of... Pst* Pst* I'll take you there."
Tuan - "Really?! Thanks... what was the fee again?"
Shanks - "1000 meso please."
Tuan - "What?! sigh* Fine here's your dumb cash."

And so, for Tuan, he took a ferry to Perion, Where he began his lessons with "Dances with Barlog". Alit, ran out of the Item shop, being chased by a mob. He left Lith Harbor and ran through Victory Road.

Alit - "Man, I didn't steal much! Just 20 red potions."

Once the chase had calmed down, he took his map and checked for Kerning. Soon enough, he led his way toward Kerning.


A day passed. Tuan was already marked a warrior. While Alit and Elyssa still headed for their cities. Hinton just arrived in Henesy and was looking for Althena. Moments later, he stumbled upon her headquarters. There, he began taking the Archery Exam. His strategy and dexterity passed him in flying colors. He too was now dubbed an Archer.

Alit was still on Victory Road, he managed to survive hordes of monsters along the way. Wearing down, He had become tired, he sat down and rested. Elyssa just left Henesy and was in the thick forest leading to Ellinia. She managed to survive her trials as well.

Alit was still resting when slimes and shrooms had slowly enveloped him. He stayed calm. He had to much ego to fall into fear. Alit stood up and thrusted his dagger. A shadow flashed within his eyes. He blinked once and the monsters were gone. He was confused.

Lu - "Eh, boy you just got beaten."
Alit - "Who the HeII are you?!"
Lu - "My name's Lu, How are you?"
Alit - "I'm fine. Why'd you come here... to mock me?"
Lu - "Oh... Gimme some credit, I just saved you"
Alit - "I could have handled them myself. You shoulda saw me on Maple Island"
Lu - "What... Newb Island? Haha... This place is real now..."
Alit - "Shut up! You don't know what happened!"
Lu - "Anyways... You seem fast, Your reaction to those monsters were amazing. So, boy, Are you gonna be a Thief?"
Alit - "Ya... What's it to you?"
Lu - "Well... Let's see... Look at my outfit, I'm a thief too. Hm... I've got an Idea"
Alit - "Ya... What is it?"
Lu - "Let's see if you've got what it takes to please Dark Lord. It's simple a race to Kerning. No Rules. Don't wimp out!"
Alit - "Oh Shut up! I'll show you!"

And so the two thieves race to Kerning. The sprint off there shoes. Burning everything that come across with thier feet. Dodging trees and hopping rocks, they've surely become speed demons. Hardly seen by other "Users", but a glimpse and a wisp of wind was all that was need to ensure "Users", they were there.

Lu - "Dumb boy, he thinks he can out run me... He thinks wrong"

Lu "Savage Blows" a bush, shredding the bush into several dozen pieces. The wind blew them away; scattered. Alit, who was inches behind was swamped by the leaves. He became blinded. He began to stumble. Then he tripped.

Alit - "Hey! No Fair!"
Lu - "I said "No Rules" remember."

Alit, on all fours, stops. He looks up at Lu and glares. He stood up and began running again. It was a race between two thieves. Only one could win. Alit was anxious to see who'd take the prize.

Alit and Lu were racing furiously. Alit kept closing in on Lu's trail, but Lu continued to use crewd tactics to lure Alit away. She continued. Alit continued to run. It was a frantic race to Kerning. Alit was still behind, aleady 6 minutes into the race. It became harder and harder for him to catch up. He began to lose his speed and momentum. It seemed he was tiring out. Lu saw this and only mocked him. Then she stopped and turned.

Lu - "What you tired now, boy?"
Alit - "Never."

Alit took a deep breath and then hurdled passed Lu. He sprinted faster then before. As he gained the lead, he spoke.

Alit - "Ha, I've never lost when it comes to speed.!"
Lu - "Dumb boy, tricked me."

Finally the entrance of Kernings citiscape began to appear. They were at Kerning! Now it was who would step on official Kerning ground. Alit was in the lead, he was gaining more and more speed as he sprinted. He was bursting with momentum. Suddenly... Lu took out a pair of throwing stars. She jumped into the air, and shot them right for Alit's feet. Alit's feet had gotten cut. He fell to the ground, stumbling rolling over. Lu landed inches in front. Lu then sprinted to first, cement section on the ground.

Lu - "Haha, you lose!"

Then Lu did something special. She reached for her headband; and Began un-knotting it. Lu then flung the headband right off. Her long hair had flourished out.
Lu was a girl.

Alit - "What?! I lost to a girl?"
Lu - "Yeah, sucks for you. Girly girl"
Alit - "I lost for the first time... and whats worst is I lost to a girl!"
Lu - "Well boy, you did a good race. Let's head on and meet Dark Lord"

From there on, Lu took Alit to Dark Lord. Lu explained to Dark Lord on Alit's skills as a elusive and sly rogue. Dark Lord accepted Alit to become one of his pupils.
Alit had finally become an official Thief.

Meanwhile, Elyssa also reached Ellinia. Where she spoke to Grendal the Old. Grendal was Facinated that she was able to learn such a skill of wizardry with out a "Skills" book. Even he wasn't capable of learning magic without instruction.

Now, after a rugged and rough entry to Gaia. The only four who survived the massacre on Maple Island, have been accepted as pupils of the apprentice avatars. The apprentice avatars even more impressed with their pupils than the Avatars who had met them on Maple Island.

In El Nath, the four avatars became more and more suspicious. They were plotting something. Was it good or bad?

First - "Those maybe the chosen. They survived one of the Fifth's massacres"
Third - "That maybe so, but we aren't sure yet. We've been waiting..."
Second - "I know, waiting for almost two hundred years."
First - "Yes, Let's not become impatient."

Weeks passed by on Gaia. And nothing much has changed. The four survivors lived daily life; day after day. No Dark monsters have spawned since that incident. Less normal monsters appeared. Life had slowly become monotinuos. For Elyssa, her training had gotten more and more difficult. She surpassed all her previous trials with ease. All 29 trials. 29 trials in four weeks. She was amazing! She was brilliant. She was mastering wizardry that even veterans and magic experts could even concieve. Grendal, had watched her closely and wisely.

Grendal had let her train by herself with the least instruction possible. This method of teach Elyssa was successful in many ways. Elyssa had manipulated the magic to her own use. Speed and Strength were not an object to her anymore. She could already teleport. And her Magic surpassed those of even veteran "Users". She could summon to her aid 3 types of Bows.

Fire, Ice, Lightning. Soon enough she was the medium of all Elements. Including Wind and Earth. With her power, she could lift rocks the size of small creates and summon gusts of wind to shred her foes. She had become a powerhouse. She was special. Gifted with the powers of Spirit of the Maple. She only used her powers to aid people.

With her misfortune, As a wielder of all elements. She had failed to master the arts of healing. Though she was a witch of pain. She failed to balance to become a cleric. She struggled to learn such wizardry. But Day after Day she failed.

One Day, She took a walk in the lush, green forests of Ellinia. She had seen Arwen, a fairy, in pain. It seemed that her wings were damaged. Arwen explained that the pain was unbearable. Elyssa was shocked. She could not help Arwen. She knew she did not have the abilities of a cleric. She was dumbfounded and did not know what to do.

Minutes of searching for an answer, a boy had asked.

Riph - "Whats wrong?"
Elyssa - "Arwen's wing is damaged. I cannot help her."
Arwen - "Are you blind?! Look! My wing is shattered"
Riph - "Take it easy. Hm... Lemme take a look"

Riph gently placed his hand upon Arwen's. His hands begun glowing with a white aura. Slowly the shattered became mended. Arwen's wing was healed.

Elyssa - "Wow, I've never seen anyone use thier hands to heal"
Riph - "Hm... You look familiar, Elyssa right?"
Elyssa - "You're right, but you didn't answer my question"
Riph - "Oh, that's easy... Like you, the infamous wizard, I'm Riph, the famous cleric."
Elyssa - "You must not be that famous... I don't even know you"
Riph - "Well, that's a nice reply to a stranger."

Riph begins to turn around, and leave the scene.

Elyssa - "Wait! Riph is it? I have a Favor to ask"
Riph - "Yes, shoot"
Elyssa - "I haven't been able to master the healing powers yet. I was wondering if you could help."
Riph - "You know, mages specialize in an attribute... You're lucky you've gotten a lot. But You may not be able to master all."
Elyssa - "Oh, But please..."
Riph - "Eh, I've got nothing to lose."

Riph and Elyssa were the two most famous mages in Ellinia. One a Wizard and One a Cleric. Is there more to this that just training?

Hinton was heading for Althena's headquaters to continue his training. On his way he passed by an old man, with a worn-out wizard cap. Hinton glanced at him and then passed by. Hinton had become byast against homeless "Users". This affected him.

Hinton - "What... Old Man, Too Lazy?"
Atticus - "..."

He continued his way to Althena's HQ. He reached her headquarters to be astonished to why, it was empty. Hinton checked the tables for any sort of note. He found one on the top of Althena's exams. It read:

~Dear Hinton,

Today I was called for a special meeting. All the apprentice avatars have been summoned by the avatars. I will assist you and mentor you once I return. Till then, One of star pupils should aid you with your questions. Good Luck, he's quite harsh on new students.

Atticus - "Well, Hello there... Suprised?"
Hinton - "Oh, It's you... Are you my mentor"
Atticus - "Indeed... that was quite a comment a few moments ago."
Hinton - "I'm sorry, I take it back."
Atticus - "Alright, We're heading towards Ellinia."

Hinton and Atticus began thier journey to Ellinina, they came upon a fork.

Hinton - "Lets go North..."
Atticus - "No, If you go there, You'll..."

Atticus begins to pull off his large lofty hat. A large scar around his eye showed. Hinton jumped back being startled.

Atticus - "Did that finish my sentence? We're heading to Ellinia where You'll Train on Green Mushrooms"
Hinton - "Alright"

They took the south path and headed to Ellinia. They stumbled upon a few Green Mushrooms on there way. Hinton knocked them up with ease. Deeper and Deeper they entered into Ellinia's thick forest. More and More Green Mushrooms Spawned. Continuing with ignorance, Hinton and Atticus head further in. They did not notice that... More and more Mushrooms surrounded them. They became circled.

Once a complete circle of Mushrooms formed around them, the Mushrooms closed in. Hinton noticed the sight. It was very similar to the incident on Maple Island. He thought nothing of it, because these only seemed like normal monsters. The Mushrooms had viciously attacked other "Users". They died instantly! Very much like the way "Users" trailed in deaths on Maple Island. Something wasn't right!

Atticus - "This isn't right. Green Mushrooms in my day were't this aggressive."
Hinton - "I've encounter such on Maple Island. Monsters going wild."
Atticus - "Do you now, then you take the lead... You've got more experience."

A shadow enveloped both of the "Users"

A giant shade eclipsed Hinton and Atticus. Hinton looked up. He commanded Atticus to jump asside! He too jumped. A Green Mushroom had nearly crushed them. The ground trembled. Hinton began to slow down. He began to take note of his surroundings. As he did on Maple Island. Again, they were surrounded by hordes of monsters. A tear came out. His mind was scattered. He tried to contain his thoughts. He was thinking of a strategy. But with only two bowmen this task seemed impossible. He stopped. He stopped breathing.

Atticus - "Hey Hinton! This isn't a time to leave an old man hanging."

Atticus watched the boy lay on the ground. Soon he noticed the swarms becoming closer and closer.

Atticus - "Well, Here goes an old man's last stand!"

He took out 5 arrows from his holster. 1 arrow between each finger. He pulled back on his bow. Arrows began launching like crazy. 5 by 5 by 5 each second. Atticus barraged the Mushrooms with a 1000 arrows. Hinton finally awoke from his deep sleep. He was impressed.

Hinton - "Wow... You've gotta teach me that!"
Atticus - "Well, that was the plan... Haha... Althena gave you to me to teach you that skill, No other archer has mastered the "Thousand Beak Mirage""
Hinton - "Well, Now there's two"

Hinton closed his eyes. He opened them. They were different. His Iris' had changed to a golden color. He stopped blinking. Hinton's sense of his enemies had doubled, he was able to sense 360 degrees of enemies. Then he took out 1 arrow. He launched it and it pierced through a Mushrooms eye. He doubled the arrows with each repitition. Next was 2 arrows. Then 4. Finally he stopped at 5 arrows.

But Hinton did something different... Unlike Atticus who used his left to load his bow, Hinton's revolutions became too fast to reload, he would swtich hands and began reloading as each shot was made. It was like launching 10 arrows per seconds. Hinton was skillful. More skillful than Atticus, he was beyond Atticus. Atticus was stunned in amazement of the boy's acomplishment.
The Green Mushrooms faded with each barrage Hinton phazed at them.

Hinton - "Thats... My "Thousand Bolts of Lightning""
Atticus - "Impressive child, That technique took me my life time to perfect, and you... just learned in seconds after your sleep"
Hinton - "About that... I'm sorry my special eye takes a lot of energy."
Atticus - "What exactly --"

Now Ellinia was blank of monsters. No more Mushrooms, it was dead silent. Then a crack of sound from a leaf echoed. Ellinia began being engulfed in Darkness. Dark Portals again summoned Dark Monsters. Ellinia was becoming filled with darkness.

Running from the main city was a sight for Hinton. He squinted his eyes. There he saw Elyssa. She was running. She was frantic! Something had gone wrong. Red, appeared on her hands. What was it?

Hinton - "Elyssa is that you?"
Elyssa - "Huh... .... ..."
Hinton - "Whats wrong?!"
Elyssa - "Hinton!!! It's you... Something bad is happening!"
Atticus - "Friend of yours?"
Hinton - "Okay, I'll help out Elyssa, lead the way!"
Atticus - "Alright ignore the old man!

The Party of three ran to the main city of Ellinia.

Now, Hinton and Elyssa had rushed off leaving behind Atticus. Elyssa was nervous and frantic. Something had gone wrong with her. Something bad. Hinton kept glancing back and forth making sure to keep in check with their enemies. Atticus left behind supported with a seemingly endless barrage of his trademark move: "Thousand Beak Mirage". He stormed the skies with bolts of arrows raining upon the mushrooms closing in on Hinton and Elyssa! It was tense... Elyssa was leading Hinton toward the main quarters of Grendal. Hinton was still confused and lost in all of what was happening.

Ellinia was now engulfed in a pitch black mirage. The dark portals have swallowed the lush trees. It was dark and gloomy. "Users" continued to fight off monsters. Slowly they too died off. Atticus trailed behind the two and keeping a keen sense of the events.

Back up top, in Grendal's quarters. A boy was laying on the ground. He was drenched in red. The same red that Elyssa beared upon her hands. Terror struck Elyssa's eyes. She began to tear. Crying... and Crying over the corpse.

Hinton - "Whats wrong? Do you know him?"
Elyssa - "Yes... He was my mentor, but I can't save him"
Hinton - "Do as you did before... back on Maple Island."
Elyssa - "I can't! Healing is something the I've failed to achieve!"

Atticus follows into the room. Shuts the door tight.

Atticus - "Hm... Well, If I've got Hinton's eye fatigue right... Let him into his short coma. While he is asleep; try to heal this boy."
Elyssa - "But I can't!"
Atticus - "Just do it... Hinton should have a feeling of what I'm trying to do."

Hinton, dove onto the ground and again fell into another coma. Elyssa began attempting to treat Riph. Her hands began glowing... glowing brighter and brighter, as though she had known the ability before. A minute passed, her efforts were for nay. Hinton opened his eyes, and again his eyes glowed bright -- golden.

Atticus - "Okay Hinton... You try now."

Hinton kneelled down towards Riph and placed his hand upon Riph's. His hands began glowing. More and More. A minute passed. No life force came to Riph. Two minutes... nothing... Finally the third minute stuck and Riph's finger twitched. He was alright. He began to blink. Somehow an archer and cured a dead man's death. Suddenly!

The door came crashing open. They split into pieces. A dark shady man with a hat had entered. The light shone on him. It was Grendal.

Grendal - "Atticus it's you... And Children, We must hurry. The Fifth has done much wrong. But Talk later, we must. We must head to Sleepywood where the other apprentices are. We are in grave danger to stay here."
Atticus - "Right... How do want to travel. I'm sure the Taxi's are out. And walking through Ellinia to reach Henesy again should not be wise."
Grendal - "That is why I'm here. I'm the last apprentice out of Sleepywood. If you do not recall, I have such abilities of teleportation"
Atticus - "Alright... Then make haste on your spellcasting, the monsters are coming in masses"

Grendal began inchanting his spell. Then... A white portal had opened. The five entered. Where they stepped foot on Sleepywood Soil. Alit and Tuan had already met up and laughing at thier lifestyles. They noticed Grendal step out of the portal, then noticed the next two who came. It was their buddies! They ran toward them. And so thier reunion after weeks of being seperated had finally come. Alit turned, and looked at the boy sitting on the ground. He too came from the portal. The boy sitting was Riph.

Alit - "Hey you, who are you?"
Riph - "..."
Elyssa - "His name is Riph, he's still catching his breathe."
Tuan - "Oh... so how do you two know each other?"
Elyssa - "..."
Riph - "She's someone very special to me."

Elyssa heard this and stopped. She began to blush. Hinton and the two others just grinned. They started to laugh.

Finally, thier reunion has met. But under what circumstance. All of Victory Island has been contained in one city - Sleepywoods. There was was something amidst.
For sure, together atlast, they will re-unite thier party.

Last met, was Hinton and the three original survivors. Riph was introduced as Elyssa's new affectionate other. It was a laugh, but true. Through the trainings Riph and Elyssa had worked through, they slowly became passionately intwined. Each time task, each new obsticle they faced together. Alit had a lot of stories to tell the gang. He told them about Lu.

Lu exited the sauna in Sleepywood. She overheard her name in the huddle. She came prompt and abnoxious. She slowly got on everyones nerves and just left. Tuan, had met no one to introduce, but he had some new moves to show. Besides the basic "warrior" skills, he adopted his own style. His style was based on movement. It was delicate, but articulate. Each swing of his sword, became a reverse thrust. His strikes became as if his attack was one movement. It was his "Cloud Strike" technique. It was amazing.

Somehow, each survivor have developed a special skill or attribute. It was different from other "Users". Elyssa's mastery of wizardry beyond imagination. Tuan's "Cloud Strike". Alit and his mischiviousness... And Hinton. Hinton had pecular eyes.

Atticus - "Hinton, come... I've got to talk to you"
Hinton - "Oh ya... I've got a question for you too"

Hinton and Atticus moved to a more empty area. They needed to speak in private

Hinton - "Okay, Atticus... How come you knew that I could heal Riph?"
Atticus - "I did not know, I only assumed."
Hinton - "Huh?"
Atticus - "Maybe this would make more sense..."

Atticus closed his eyes. Then opened them. From his blue Iris, it dramatically changed to pitch black. They were darker then the portals. They were evil looking.

Atticus - "See my eyes. I have special eyes just like you. They maybe keen but these aren't gold like yours. With my eyes, I can only copy the skill. I cannot learn magic, but I cannot improve the skill I've copied. It is complete immitation."
Hinton - "And... So, since my eyes resembled yours... you assumed I could do something similar..."
Atticus - "Not exactly... I've read a lot. I've learned a lot."

Atticus takes a large brown book, "Pig Illustrated", out of his large torn cloak.

Atticus - "In this book... Beholds, magic and skills that "Users" have. I stumbled upon the special eyes. My black Iris, means I'm a passive copyier. I know and remember everything I copy. As for you, Hinton, your a pulse copyier. You can immatate everything and anything, even magic... but only once, only once after you've seen it."
Hinton - "How...?"
Atticus - "I don't know how, but to prove it... Aim your "Thousand Bolts of Lightning" technique. It should fail as soon as you get to your fifth arrow. It's like its name... Lightning never strikes twice..."
Hinton - "This was my secret alone... now you know too. Please don't tell."
Atticus - "Course not, only Me and Althena knew, why do you think she chose me to be your mentor?"

After, Hinton's and Atticus' long discussion. They regrouped with the others. Atticus conversed with the apprentice avatars. Hinton with the other survivors. Yet, All this time there were still no avatars in sight.

Things began to settle in Sleepywoods. The avatars had finally arrived. They had much to explain. With a conclusion of creating four parties. They urged people to join for the cause. Still, only few wanted to join, fear ruled in their minds. Then again, a few stepped up.

Elyssa, was the first. Followed by Hinton, then by Alit and Tuan. Of course, she could not be left by her beloved Riph. A newcomer joined their party. His name was Jem. He was a warrior.

Lu had stepped up as well. She gathered several more recruits. Kai and Troy, her friends had begun a party with her. Some others were, Cid the priest and Rin another archer. This uproar had spurred load arguements. Everyone was fussing... confused... What was happening.

The avatars began to explain further detail. What information leaked now, was about the Fifth avatar. He had fled to an unknown area -- Aqua Road. No one has travelled to Aqua Road yet... But this distilled more fear into people minds. The Fifth had begun plotting. It was serious business when the Fifth's name was appointed to the topic. Tuan's party stepped foward and inquired on the needs of their cause.

First * - "Tuan, it has been a while... It seems you have re-united with your comrades."
Tuan - "Yeah! A rocking party again! Haha..."
Fourth *- "Eh... You survived from luck... only luck."
Third * - "Stop... Our point to this sudden yeild in Sleepywood, is because we've learned the Fifth has adopted apprentices of his own. Those apprentices wield the "Portal" Ring... They too now, have an infinite ability to summon hordes of monsters. We don't know who they are and where they are. But we must re-secure Victory Island."
Second * - "To do this, we need at least four parties. We've already assembled two prior to this meeting. Our apprentices's had to come to be updated upon this issue. We are the first party which will be going to Perion. Our apprentices will head towards Ellinia. And Tuan... Your party will head toward Kerning."
Lu - "That leaves my party to Henesy... right?"
Fourth * - "Yeah... girl..."

The parties have now been formed. Each assigned to fulfill the tasks of liberating their designated city. And now they've begun to prepare. It would be a long battle till the Fifth's reign would end. But this is their first step towards that goal.

First * - "And all other "Users" defend Sleepywoods. This is our last stand. If Sleepywoods fall, Victory Island may be lost."

Hearing those words, the "Users" began to fuss again. It was unorder. It was still chaos. Things may have settled a bit, but for sure, everyone's fear was unleashed. Mobs and Mobs of "Users" were angry... They were scared, and had nothing to protect them. The avatars would soon leave for perion and so would the other three parties. Sleepywoods would then be defended by fear-illed "Users". The avatars knew it wasn't the wisest decision to leave it in their hands. But what more could be done? Atticus would stay behind, he should help out in the defence campaign ten-fold.

Now, after each party had prepared. Gotten extensive amounts of potions, and all for free, by the graciousness of Mr.Sweatbottom. They've headed for the road leading to Henesy.

Grendel used his magic to teleport Dark Lord, "Dances with Barlog" and Althena to Ellinia where their mission begun. The avatars too, teleported to their destination: Perion. Unfortunately, the two remaining parties had skills only a tenth of theirs. They had to walk to thier destinations. Lu's group only had Henesy to look foward to. Henesy was close to Sleepywoods. Everyone knew that.

A party of twelve was formed to fight the hordes of monsters incoming. Lu's group took command and decimated any enemies that got in their way. Reaching Henesy, what was twelve members disbanded to two parties of six. Tuan became leader of his comrades; Hinton, Elyssa, Alit, Riph, and Jem. There, they headed to Kerning heading through Victory Road.

As they became farther and farther from Henesy, more monsters swarmed at them. They slowly became enveloped once again. Tuan jumped foward and thrusted his sword into a Mushroom. From there Tuan carved a path through the armada of monsters. Alit followed and scouted for any other openings. Elyssa and Hinton continued to use thier skills and magic to decrease the monsters following them. Riph had continuously mended the wounds of the party. Suspiciously, Jem had not done a thing.

This process continued and repeated for many minutes. Nearly half an hour to an hour. Monsters continued to swarm. None were the same Dark monsters on Maple Island. But they spawned from the same black portals. This made things even more unfathomable. It was truly wierd.

Reaching the pavements of Kerning. They saw a few corpses laying. One was with a large red cloak. It was Kanji. He was ill-fated and ill mannered, it seemed like what he deserved, but too much of it. He was broken down, and flooding the ground with his blood. Again, it was inconceivable.

Kanji - "Is... That... Alit...? I've got... Something... to say..."
Alit - "Hm... Ya... Kanji what's wrong with you"
Kanji - "Somehow... You survived... these monsters... but... these monsters..."

Kanji breifly paused, his breathing was irregular. His breathing caused him to stutter and speak for breif periods. Chopped up.

Alit - "Yeah... Finish your sentence."
Kanji - "Those monsters... aren't from around here... They mey look like... Normal... Mushrooms... and Slimes... but they're hiding theirselves..."
Alit - "What?! What do you mean?"
Kanji - "You will figure it out, as you defeat... More... and... More..."

Kanji's lifeforce then vanished off the face of Gaia. He had died from an irregular death. Kanji's life was sure not taken in vain.

Alit - "DAMl\l! I never even got to duel him... lame monsters... I'll get'em for that... Don't worry Kanji... I'll show you I wasn't any novice... I coulda beaten you! Just wait and see!"

From here, Alit took charge of his party. His grief was all that could be seen in his eyes. As he continued deeper and deeper into Kerning, he saw more of his allies and comrades lay away. Their souls vanished. Alit's eyes began to tear up. He never cared for anyone much but himself... But this time it was different. It affected him a lot. It was his hometown. Kerning was Alit's beloved hometown.

And for Alit, He couldn't let any monsters, different or the same, let free from the hainous acts they've commited. He would not let them run free. Alit swore to him and his party: That he would avenge those who died. Alit was angry; angry for revenge.

Alit's party rushed into Kerning. Launching attacks and defending they're tiny party. At first it was intense, monsters flooded the streets, Kerning was demolished. Bricks from the pharmacy and bricks from the item shops have all been broken apart. The Fusion bar sign was all that was left of the Fusion bar. The remains were toilets flushing and geysing upwards. The cranes that once hovered the denizens of Kerning had fallen. Now... Pigs, Mushrooms of all types, and even Octupuses had infested the brittle remains of Kerning.

The party stopped. They were sent on a mission to liberate Kerning. But to face a seemingly infinite ammount of enemies, would not seem logical. They stopped infront of the Internet Cafe. They took base there. From there they continued to plan out what needed to be down. The head of this operation was Hinton.
He was the brightist tactician on Gaia. He explained to them, that this would be an endless battle if they just continued to fight amongst the monsters.

Hinton - "There must be a source where these spawns are being created."
Riph - "You're right, monsters need to be generated from some vocal point."
Tuan - "Well... Is it here? Or what?! We need to know... Man..."
Hinton - "It's not that easy. We must first search Kerning of any Warp Tabs."
Alit - "Those Warp Tabs, similar to "Town Scrolls""
Hinton - "Indeed, I learned of this from Atticus' book; Pig Illustrated."
Riph - "Then we must not waste time."
Jem - "..."

Jem stood there watching his party. He began to have a face of distaste. The expression he gave out, was as if he had been caught. It was strange to him. But still... No one Noticed. Once Hinton split the party into search groups; they split up. Jem, Tuan, Alit would search the northern part of Kerning. Alit knew this area as where, his job-advancement tutor's hideout was. Hinton, Elyssa, and Riph would head back to where they came from. To Check if they had missed any clues.

Half an hour passed. Nothing was found in Kerning. They met up at the Internet Cafe again. They discussed for another hour.

Hinton - "Well, The three other parties should be in their cities. When we group up with them again, they'll tell more to us about the situation. Even if they found Warp Tabs."
Alit - "Yeah, then what now?"
Hinton - "It would be smart to check out Lith Harbor, it the last city untouched by "Users" after this catastrophe. Let's head there, investegate some more."
Jem - "I'd advice not to go there."
Tuan - "Look who finally talked."
Riph - "Let him finish Tuan..."
Jem - "It isn't safe there. Monster's should be covering that area already"
Hinton - "How do you this information. You're not filling in the gaps you just created. We haven't even seen the area near Lith Harbor. How do you know?!"
Elyssa - "Calm down guys, The monsters are getting to you."
Hinton - "The decision is made... We head to Lith Harbor now."

Hinton's party traversed through Victory Road again. Monsters swamped their paths as Jem described. Still, they force they way towards the harbor. Maybe an hour passed and they reached 3/4's of the way. The monster's traffic slowed them down by a bit. But it seemed... As if they came more and more, as if they were being called upon just for the point of stalling. Still, after another fifteen or so minutes the party arrived. And a glimpse of another "User" was seen.

The shady being, had long brown hair. The being had a bandana on, and the being was intensely fast. Even faster than Alit. Only one person was that fast.

Alit - "Yo... Is that Lu?!"

Alit stunned at what he was seeing. Lu had been jumping on the roof tops of the houses left in Lith Harbor.

Alit - "Lu!!! Is that you?!

Lu turned around. She was shocked, she did not expect to meet anyone but her own party to arrive in Lith Harbor. She stopped. And began pouncing her way back from the roof tops and towards Alit's Party.

Lu - "Jem, what is this. They're not suppose to be here... It dangerous"
Jem - "They came on their will, I tried to stop them."
Tuan - "Hey... Wait... How is this place dangerous, it looks untouched."
Lu - "Well... it dangerous because --"

Lu jumped up and vanished into thin air. The land behind Tuan and had him into a neck lock. Lu also held a knife around the throat.

Lu - "It's because we're here"

Lu's companions appear from behind the buildings. Wait their party seemed to be missing a few people. This was all mysterious.

Lu - "Oh... Troy... and Kai had to take a mid-life vacation. They couldn't keep up with us... So their lives ended quickly."
Alit - "You... You killed more lives! How could you?!"
Lu - "I wouldn't move any closer. I've got your buddy in this position... remember that.

Suddenly, Jem went into action. He jabbed his sword towards Tuan. It was as if He was trying to kill Tuan. The parties at Lith Harbor don't seem to be getting along well. This is bad.

Jem thrusted his blade upwards toward Tuan's throat. Jem purposefully missed and suddenly deflected Lu's knife. Lu jumped back even more suprised.

Lu - "What the heII was that?! Are you gonna betray us?"
Jem - "Nah, y'know me... I'm not those kind of weaklings... Just thought you were being too much of yourself. If you hadn't noticed, thier party slowly circled you. Even with your speed... that girl, Elyssa's magic could put you into a coma. She was charging her magic too."
Lu - "Well thanks a bunch! But don't do that again... or you'll hear from me, even if we are on the same team."
Riph - "So... Jem wasn't going to help us. He was protecting his comrade."
Hinton - "As is seems."

Lu, she jumped back into another guard position. Jem too jumped back.
Lu's team were to the left, and Hinton's to the right. The static from both parties illuminated. There was serious tention that slowly built up... second by second.

The tension, broke. Tuan leaped foward and raised his blade. He was ready to strike. Only two feet away from his enemies. Hinton saw this sudden burst, and readied his bow.

Whisper:
Hinton - "Alright... Tuan's not safe there... Alit, Riph... I'll make a small diversion. Follow up and tell Tuan to strike even... if he's blinded... Alit you jump out of the smoke and keep your eyes on Lu. Only you can keep up with her. Riph... You won't be able to see Tuan until seconds later; therefore, you have to watch Alit and any incoming enemies. Heal Alit. When possible heal Tuan too. I'll make sure no one surrounds us."
Alit - "A'ight"
Riph - "Got it... Let's Go!"
Hinton - "Elyssa, I forgot... You barrage Lu with your magic... Alit needs as much help to capture her. She's got a lot of explaining to do."
Elyssa - "Okay... Let's Go!"

The team rushes to rescue Tuan. Tuan continues to swing his sword, trying to provoke the ememies. Hinton lauches "Bomb Arrows" feet infront of Tuan. As his arrows exploded, it swamped the field with smoke and smog. It was a decent smokescreen and Tuan continued to attack.

Alit jumps out and stays on Lu's tail as she began to run off to the roofs again. Elyssa saw this and manipulated Lu's movement. From Ice and Earth... she built walls to slow Lu down. This was successful. Alit read all the walls in time to catch up to Lu. Alit hurdled into the air. Landed upon Lu's shoulders. Lu stopped as Alit's knife was pointed at his throat. So far, Hinton's plan was successful.

Alit - "Lu... You... scoundrel, I'll kill you if you move!"
Lu - "If you kill me, there's nothing you'll gain."
Alit - "Well, there's nothing I'll lose!"
Lu - "There's a lot to lose, I know the secret of Lith Harbor."
Alit - "Tell me or Die!"

Alit narrowed down the space between his knife and her throat. He was closing in to Lu's death.

Lu - "You're way too hasty, boy!"

Lu warps out of Alit's grasp. She said something to her party. Then Vanished.

Alit - "What the HeII!"

Alit jumps down from the roof and sprints toward Hinton. As he reached the re-grouped party, he exlpained to them what happened to him and Lu. Hinton agreed that it wasn't planned for, they're failure was only due to miscalculations.
They seem to have special powers. Given by someone. Someone like the Fifth Avatar.

After another short discussion the party split to scout out Lith Harbor. They were anxious to find something mysterious. Finally, after an hour. Elyssa spotted a small box. No, a small parcel, a package.

Elyssa, shifted her hands to pull up her long-sleeves. She reached to grab the small parcel. There was a tag taped on top. She tried to read it, but it wasn't in the language of Gaia, Mapen. It was in strange letters, pictographs even. It wasn't something that seemed to belonged to Gaia. Hinton crept up behind; seeing she had something special.

Hinton - "Hm... Whatcha got there?"
Elyssa - "I... I... I don't know... I can't read it"

Hinton checked the parcel and glared at the tab on top.

Hinton - "These symbols are strange! I can't read them."
Tuan - "Ha... Let have a try!"

Tuan grabbed the parcel and began to look. From his first cocky grin changed to unsatisfied frown. At this time, Alit and Riph was checking out the harbor for any sudden attacks from monsters. Also, Hinton fainted into his coma's again.

Tuan, out of anger threw the parcel on the ground. Elyssa was suprised and mad at his rash desicion. With Elyssa's magic she warped the parcel from mid air tothe ground.

Elyssa - "Tuan! What if that were bomb tabs?! We'd be dead!"
Tuan - "Well... Just think it wasn't... iono what else you could do..."
Elyssa - "That's not the point. You gotta keep your cool."

Hinton woke up with his golden eyes again. He began reaching for the parcel.

Hinton - "Yeah, Elyssa is right Tuan, You've nearly sacrifed yourself, and your team about three times now. Your last stand on Maple Island. Your abrupt attack here. And now thrashing our only evidence. Tuan, chill out some more."

Hinton reached the Parcel. He picked it up and began reading it again. He read it out loud and explained to the party that it was a special kind of "Warp Tab" it summons Dark Monsters. He also figured out that, the only way to stop the infestation of monsters, with new special Dark powers, each parcel would need to be destroyed.

Hinton - "If that is true... Then when we were on Maple Island, someone must've destroyed the parcel there as well. This doesn't add up. The avatars didn't send anyone to Lith Harbor. Yet, Lu and her party knew. Wait, why would they come here, if the purpose of these parcels were already active? This really doesn't add up. Also, back on Maple Island, who destroyed the parcel? The Second *Mage and the Third *Archer, were the only ones active."

Alit - "Well, how fast is the Fourth *Theif?"

Hinton - "Iono... Maybe fast enough to decisive our eyes. Anyways let's destroy this Parcel and head back to Sleepywood. We'll explain to them only about the parcel. What we know, we keep to ourselves."

Grendel suddenly appeared in fron of them. His robe was a bit torn, battle-torn.

Grendel - "Why are you children here?! We must head to Sleepywood at once."
Tuan - "Hey! How'd you know we were here."
Grendel - "Because no one, even no monsters were left in Kerning. Henesy has been liberated, but it seems with two casualties. Still, Lu's party other than their casualties can't be found. The apprentices and I thought best that we checked where you are. I found you here. So, lets head back."

Grendel warps the party back to Sleepywoods. There, the denizens of Gaia greeted them back for a sucessful mission. Grendel approached the avatars and explained that they were found at Lith Harbor. This was a shock for the avatars.
The avatars walk away and huddle into a group.

Fourth - "This isn't good, those brats have been snooping around"
Third - "I understand, but isn't it for their good they know?"
Fourth - "We have guarded the secrets of Gaia for over 1000 years!"
Second - "Yes... And you won't let children ruin it."

A few heroes loom to know more. They on the verge of learning something hidden. It seems that it'll take more. Those heroes need more help! This is when fates come crossing; Advent Crossing. New "Users" have come from near and far. Everything has calmed down once again. Maplers were once again taking in-vein what Gaia gave them: Life.

Few remembered the incident. Manji, of Perion, had stayed in grief for the death of his brother,comrade, and rival: Kanji. Alit remembered the deaths he saw on his way to Kerning and in Kerning. His grief still had not passed. He swore to himself in secret, that Lu would pay for the insolence she gave. Since that time Alit's attitude slightly changed. Before, he was stuck up, He was the fastest. He was the best. He was the only theif that surpassed Dark Lord. Now, his ego slowly turned to modesty. He stopped bragging. He began to slowly part from his comrades. He fell into isolation. Day and Day passed, yet he trained and he lived as a lonewolf. He slowly fell into darkness. But for a justified cause?

Hinton had stopped training with Althena, it has seemed that he surpassed her powers as well. Although, he continued his meetings and training with Atticus. Atticus had much to teach him with his special eye. He was yet to learn and remember skills; And gain the ability of "not falling asleep" to summon his golden eye. He continued his marksmanship with his bow.

Elyssa continued her training as a cleric. She has mastered all of Grendel wizardries, yet still has much to learn for mending. Riph stayed at her side as he mentored and tested her cleric abilities. She had finally been able to mend small cuts and gashes. She has still yet to learn; Major healing Spells, as well as curing status ailments. Her road as a Mage still depended on her beloved Riph. Riph loved her as well. They continued to live together.

Tuan, being a loud warrior continued his lonesome ways. He changed though; after Hinton's lecture, he became self-consious of himself, and the people around him. Another day passed. His regards to everything around him payed off. He made a few new friends. Their names were Guy and Cyn. Guy was another warrior much like Tuan. Only difference was, Guy slightly turned into a theif himself. He was very... very quick for a warrior. He did not wear heavy armor other than a light mythril chest-plate. He were normal cloth for all other clothes. Cyn was Guy's friend. Cyn was a full-fledge thief. He was quick and agile. Cyn reminded Tuan of Alit everyonce in a while. But they were very different.

Today, was special again. After weeks after sleepywood incident, another "User" arrived. He seemed just as special as Tuan, Alit, Elyssa, Hinton. His name was Clous. He wielded two swords. And quick legs. He was another amazing "User" arriving in Maple Island. He left only hours arriving. From there Clous was in Lith Harbor. His own adventure began. Parallel to the Alit's, Tuan's, Elyssa's, Hinton's.
Sooner or later their paths shall cross. It may indeed be sooner!

Clous arrived on Gaia months after the infestation of Maple Island. He was calm and together when he fought the monsters outside of Lith Habor. He had two swords at his disposal. He used them with ease and with flow. With one sword he swings, with the other he deflects. He combines them everyonce in a while to use his trademark move: "Twin Dragon Burst" For a novice he was amazing.

Clous was kind too. He helped out many "Users" near Lith Harbor. He partied with new novices. They partied and fought larger enemies. He was anxious to help others. He was a kind boy. He was someone to depend on. Someone with a special heart. He too, was involved with the Spirit of the Maple. He did not know it. But Long before, The Maple Tree had foreseen a devastation, and he too was part of the plan to deny it. He was one of the keys that held Gaia's future.

Weeks passed. Clous still hasn't met the others. Nor has he changed his job. He stayed at Lith Harbor to mentor new "Users" still. He took it as a job for him. One day he was asleep. He woke up in an abyss of darkness. His bed and his bed-sheets illuminated of darkness. His eyes widened. He could not see anything, but he did hear a voice.

??? - "Well, well, another goody two shoes on Gaia. Not just a goody two shoes, but a skilled fighter. What if I proposed to you, that you'd be able to strengthen all your skills. From Speed to Accuracy. From Magic to Strength. I can give you the abilites of everything, and much more."
Clous - "What's the catch?"
??? - "You become part of my small, but growing legion."
Lu - "You'll become part of our team. We are the strongest on Gaia."
Cid - "And... If you disagree, we are assassins too... we can kill you instantly."
Lu - "Now now, Cid, don't go scaring our new recruits... But Clous, Cid is right."
??? - "Sush you two... This is a matter of Clous's righteous decision. Of course"
Clous - "I see nothing wrong, I accept your proposition."

A hand reaches out of the darkness and reaches for a handshake with Clous. Clous reaches out as well. A burst of dark aura broke out. Clous became paralyzed; even his mind slowed down. He was stunned. Hours later, Clous woke up. He seemed more evil. He was much darker... He was touched by darkness. He was no more kind. He was a recruit to Lu's party. He changed. His path was set.

He continued to Train. He got stronger and stronger. His dark adept grew. He did not take a particular job, yet he learned spells of a magician daily. His speed and agility grew too. His sight and strength advanced as days flowed by.

Clous was just waiting for his first job with Lu's party.

So new members have been recruited to each side of good and evil. Cyn and Guy though still on the good side, seem to stay very neutral. They don't really care about what happens to Gaia. To them, its just a problem they can just brush away. They are wrong. Several weeks pass by.

Clous and his gang have been summoned by their mysterious leader. As the apprentices were once again summoned by the avatars. All said and done, the apprentices reported to their star students: Hinton, Elyssa, Tuan, Alit. Those four were being sent to Aqua Road; to investigate on a few matters regarding the Fifth Avatar.

They were told to head to Orbis. Where they'd head for Orbis Tower heading down towards their goal-location; Aqua Road. Riph also again tagged a long to aid the party. First they rested in Ellinia; waiting for the ship to Orbis. 15 minutes passed by and the routinely arrival of the Airship had come. They boarded and another 15 minutes passed by. They had reached Orbis.

They headed to Orbis Tower. There, they met two vague strangers in cloaks. Alit noticed right away they were no strangers. It was Kanji and Manji. They stood infront of them. Were they friend or foe?

Alit - "Hey! Wasn't Kanji killed in Kerning?!"
Tuan - "Yeah... I remember you were getting emotional when you saw him"
Alit - "Shut up Tuan, I don't need your comments"
Elyssa - "Guys chill out! They don't look pleased to see us"
Hinton - "Yes, this is wierd. Stay on your guard!"

Suddenly another red cloack dashed to their front from behind them. He turned his face and looked back at them. He was smiling. The mysterious man, was the wanderer named, Chun Ji. He was bearing two swords.

Chun Ji - "Hey. This isn't your mission. Hurry to Aqua Road. I'll handle this."

Hinton signalled his comrades and they sprinted around their new enemies. Kanji and Manji rushed toward the party! They held their swords up high, ready to strike. Chun Ji warped across the battlefield and deflected both swords with his own. The swords clashed.

Chun Ji - "Hurry! I can stall for only so long!"

Hinton and the party finally reached Orbis Towers insides were they used the large black warp. This left Chun Ji, Kanji, Manji alone. It was their own battle.
It was a battle between brothers.

Chun Ji's grip on his swords loosened from the clashing of swords. He warped away, only ten feet away, on top of the grey stone statue. His red cape waved around as the wind passed by.

Chun Ji - "Brothers, why are you doing this? This isn't your true nature."
Kanji - "Well, brother... We've been turned to a much more useful cause."
Chun Ji - "Kanji, where have you been? Rumor had it that you died."
Manji - "He did, I did too."
Chun Ji - "What?! Then how are you here"

Kanji - "This is our story:

~After I was slaughtered by the monsters infesting Kerning and Hinton's party had left. A dark being spawned just inches beyond my sight. I thought I was a goner... I layed on the ground, clenched my hands and closed my eyes. Sooner than I knew it, I was engulfed in darkness. Still, I was able to stand up. So I did, Then something, like a hand touched me, and I fainted. I heared voices... but still very faint. I fell asleep again. The next time I woke up next to Manji. A voice in my mind... Made me feel I was crazy... told me to fight him. At first I denied it. I got shocked. After the immense pain, I agreed to do it. I fell into darkness.~

Manji - "After that:

~Our battle was quick, It was an ordinary duel between brothers, I thought. He unleashed his blade aiming right at my heart. I saw this and I dodged. Then darkness covered both of us. I fell on the ground and a short knife stabbed me from behind. I felt faint, then a hand touched me as well. I regained my energy but I felt evil. Then the dark being told us that, this was for a cause, Hinton and his friends are our enemies. We must stop them!~

Chun Ji - "You're wrong! I'll stop you brothers! You're wrong!"

Chun Ji unshethed his swords again and leaped down from the statue he was atop of. Kanji and Manji leaped to the sides and unshethed their swords as well. Chun Ji suddenly "Slash Blast" and bombarded Kanji and Manji. The two brothers fell aside and layed on the ground. Kanji flipped back up and dashed right for Chun Ji. Kanji placed his one hand upon his pants, reached into his pocket. Chun Ji was paying to the detail Kanji was creating. Kanji with one hand dashed with his blade and on the other hand getting something. Something unknown.

Chun Ji payed too much attention to Kanji and left Manji unspotted. Manji sneaked behind him and was rushing towrds him too! Chun Ji was pincered between two brothers. Chun Ji had very little choices left. Some last resorts must be met. Kanji finally took his hand out of his pocket, he wielded a knife. But only for a few seconds. He darted it right for Chun Ji. Manji had gotten close enough to Chun Ji and Held him in place. Chun Ji was trapped and nothing could be done. He was being held down by his brother as his other brother released a dagger aiming right for him.

Thinking quick, He released his swords and dropped them. This left his hands free. Chun Ji grabbed Manji's hands. He loosened off and then flipped behind him. Chun Ji backflipped right behind Manji. Now the dagger was heading toward Manji.

Chun Ji - "Sorry brother... This is for your own good!"

The dagger impaled into Manji's heart. A large hole was left.

Manji - "You're wrong, it's for your good, Chun Ji!"

Darkness illuminated from the hole. Nothing was inside Manji except darkness. Not even a heart was left. Pure darkness was found throughout Manji's and probably Kanji's bodies. The darkness had grown stronger and stronger. The large hole slowly began to heal. Seconds later, there was no hole. All was too quick. Chun Ji was still looking at the hole and Kanji had crept up behind him. It was a chain of holding. Kanji held Chun Ji and Chun Ji held Manji. Kanji held up another knife behind Chun Ji.

Suddenly, a flying star, or shuriken, flew by and hit the dagger out of Kanji's hand. It was Lu standing atop of the grey statue.

Lu - "Stop you Kanji! Our master wants to keep the three brothers alive!"
Manji - "Is that so, well, alright Kanji stop playing this charade."

Kanji and Manji burst into darkness. Their clothes and all became dark to pitch black. Long before the battle begun. When they became servants of the Fifth, they gained a new ability. More over a special boost using Darkness. They could've used it and irradicated their brother. They did not. As they turned darker and darker. Kanji's hand became dark as well. As his completetion of his transformation. He stunned Chun Ji. Chun Ji fell to the ground. Manji picked him up and then the four warped away.

When Chun Ji woke up, he too was engulfed in darkness... Minions of darkness have been growing more and more... Where are the new heroes needed to balance this?

Chun Ji was left away from his true mind. Darkness had overwhelmed him and now he had turned into a state of bane. Between Kanji and Manji he was dragged into a dark portal where Lu, Kanji, and Manji left.

All this time Hinton and his party had no clue to what was happening. They had warped to a completely unknown area. They had no idea to what extent were there enemies strength. If they weren't sure, they might get crushed by giant puff fishes. They were large and incharge... Yes... incharge. They were fishes in their natural habitat. "Users" were only invading their territory.

The five "Users" floated downward to the ocean's floor. They stumbled upon dozens of fishes. They had no control over gravity, and they continued downward. Suddenly waves of fishes continiously bulldoze them. Tuan time and time again had the urge to just break out his "Cloud Strike" technique and burst all the fishes in a single swipe. After seconds he lost control and bursted in rage. He summoned his super flowing technique: "Cloud Strike".

Though gravity continued to pull him down. His almost endless motions of sword swiping had lifted him inch by inch. As well as dealing damage to the incoming fishes. His sword's reign came to a stop once he landed on the ground. He accidently stabbed his sword to the ground. Tuan began pulling it out. He was struggling.

Clous - "I see you've made it."

Clous had also entered Aqua Road. But From the way of the dark portals.
The party walked up to him. Stopped. Glanced. Then drew their weapons and prepared for anything. Aqua Road was beginning to fill dark portals everywhere. From the portals emitted dark monsters. Dark Fishes, much stronger.

Hinton - "Who are you?"
Clous - "My name is Clous"

Hinton - "Clous, why are you here?"
Clous - "It is the job I have been given."
Hinton - "A job? Given by who?"
Clous - "That's classified."
Tuan - "DAM|\| it! Tell us!"
Hinton - "Tuan stop, I don't want to fight... yet"
Riph - "Hey, Clous was it? Do you control those dark portals?"
Clous - "You could say that I guess."
Hinton - "Clous, are you here to fight us?"
Clous - "Not to fight, to kill you... all of you."
Riph - "Guys get back!"

The party ran away, furthering the gap between them and clous and clous' armada of monsters. Clous seemed to stay calm and walked toward them.

Clous - "Wait, come back"
Hinton - "Why, to kill us with your monster's"
Clous - "Haha I don't need those monster's help. They're here just in-case I fail."
Tuan - "Yeah right, then send them off"
Clous - "Haha if that'll please you alright."

Clous waved his arm to the sky, he threw a small sheet of paper, a "Warp Tab" and with his two swords sliced them in half. In the next seconds he drew his swords again. He shredded the "Warp Tab".

Clous - "Does that make you happy?"
Tuan - "Gr... Shut up and show me what you got!"
Hinton - "I guess you can go Tuan, just don't die"
Elyssa - "Wait! Shouldn't we attack as a team"
Hinton - "Correct, but we don't know what he's capible of, Tuan wants a fight he can have one."
Alit - "Yeah, we got his back."

Tuan leaps toward Clous and draws his blade. They were ready to unleash their fury but Clous hesistated. He kept a mean face but his heart wasn't in it. His job was to annihilate Hinton and his friends, but Clous' had no heart in fulfilling his task. Finally, he drew his blades as well. He stood in an unusual stance. His feet were crossed, and his blades weren't. Tuan held his blade infront. Simple as that. Tuan rushed in and swiped his blade through Clous. Miss! Clous had turned his body only inches do dodge the blade. Tuan began his continious "Cloud Strike" Tuan's body twisted as Clous' did too. Tuan's blade was still seconds behind Clous' reaction time. It was as if Clous foresaw each of Tuan's movement. Finally Clous began to reach boredom. Finally, he jumped backwards and backflipped away. Suddenly thrusted his sword into Tuan!

Tuan's reaction time did not compare. He was too slow, He tried to deflect it with his sword. Too Slow! Way too Slow! Clous was only centimeters away before Tuan would strike death. Suddenly Alit jumps in and flips over the sword, and deflects it with his dagger. From Alit's force the sword deflect into the ground where it spiked into the dirt. Alit turned around and rescued Tuan, he leaped off back to the safety of his friends.

Alit - "Tuan careful!"
Tuan - "Shut up! I know, I'm sorry I keep screwing up everything."
Hinton - "It's alright, we gotta figure something out though"
Riph - "Hm.. What do we need to figure out?"
Hinton - "He wield two swords but has the reaction time of a thief. What else does he have under his sleeve? How does he wield so much power?"
Alit - "The only way we'll answer this is by beating him, let's go!"

Hinton quickly schemed up another plan, this time using teamwork. Alit would be there not to fight, but to keep and eye on Clous and to save any vunerable members. Tuan would continue to fight Clous in close range, but to be weary of his surroundings. He would have to understand when and when not to fight, but to run. Riph would follow behind Alit and Tuan mending their wounds when needed. Elyssa and himself would continue to barrage Clous from a distance, Elyssa with her magic and himself with his arrows.

The plan began once Alit and Tuan rushed towards Clous. Alit continued to scout around the coral (If you've forgetten they are in Aqua Road). Tuan struck blows very powerful but too slow. He continued to miss. So far everything was according to plan. Hinton's training with Atticus payed off. He was able to mimic Atticus's "Thousand Beak Mirage" and so he unleashed it upon Clous.

Clous' speed was unreal. From the incoming arrows he read each and every arrow. He moved inch by inch to dodge the thousand arrows. None struck him. Not even a mark on his shirt. Finally it was Elyssa's turn. She unleashed all the elements. She summoned the winds of Zephyr, the lightning of Thor, the fire of the cerberus, and the magnitude of Ciebell the Stone God.

All of a sudden, Clous summoned a magical force field. "Rune Shell" All of Elyssa's magic was for nay. It was turned against them. The magic she unleashed became uncontrolled once it touched Clous' shell. They bounced back and unleashed it fury towards the party! A lightning bolt struck Riph! Riph had become the first to be injured. He was the only cleric and he was knocked unconsious or even dead. Elyssa saw this and ran towards him. Tears had come to her eyes once again.

Elyssa - "Riph! Riph! Don't leave me!"
Hinton - "Elyssa watch out! Clous is still our enemy!"
Elyssa - "Riph... Don't do this... don't leave me! I love you... don't die!"

Elyssa had stopped caring for anything. She payed no attention to Hinton's warnings and advice. All emotions were taken in by sorrow. She was no cleric and they were too far to head to another town. It was here that she held Riph's hand and sobbed. As she payed no attention to anything else the battle between Clous still raged on. Alit saw this and rushed towards them. Clous with his sword swung into Alit's path, Alit flipped over and continued to hurry towards them. Alit grabbed both Riph and Elyssa and hopped away. He landed back near Hinton.

Hinton - "This is no good. Clous is too powerful, too powerful for the likes of us.
Alit - "You got that right. Let head back to Orbis, we can't do anything here."
Hinton - "Go get Tuan and lets get out of here!"

Alit followed the instructions and rushed towards Tuan. Then Clous stopped attacking. He smiled and jumped back to the highest point of coral. Alit rushed out and grabbed Tuan and headed back to Hinton.

Clous - "Are you done playing? Already?"
Hinton - "I'm sorry but yes today's games have come to an end!"
Clous - "It's just like weaklings. I could destroy right now you seem so vunerable"

Clous warped down beside Hinton.

Clous - "See, All this time I could've taken you all down. I've got the speed. I've got the power."
Hinton - "That maybe true, so then why let us live so long?"
Clous - "It was my decision. At first I was hesitant, and I continue to hesitate. I don't like seeing death... yet. Maybe pain for now, but death is much different. Well, since we're done playing good bye."

Clous vanishes into the sea.

Hinton - "It was his decision?"

Hinton and the crew headed back to Orbis Tower after their fatal loss against Clous. Still in their mind, it would still take many hours to reach back a medical clinic to rescue Riph. Unless fate would have a Cleric passing by. This seemed to not be the case. The party had not seen any "Users" since Chun Ji had helped them back at Orbis Tower. For them there was no one.

Elyssa had continued to cry. She walked along with her crew, but all this time she could only zone out. All this time she could only think of Riph. She could only remember the times she had with him. The times she spent with her loved one. No one on Gaia truly cared for her as much as Riph. And She was the same to Riph. Elyssa loved him. And He loved her.

Elyssa - "This can't be destiny's path! I refuse to believe it!"
Alit - "Elyssa there isn't another way..."
Elyssa - "Hinton, I remember the first time you saved Riph, can't you do it again?"
Hinton - "I can't... Atticus told me that it was only coincidence I was able to do it before. Though he thought it should be possible again, I tried with other clerics while I was training with him. I failed considerably. His guess of why I was able to heal Riph at that time was because we were in Ellinia the city of magic. Somehow, Atticus thinks it caused me to have a magical boost. Ellinia is too far from here. I'm Sorry Elyssa."
Elyssa - "No... I refuse to believe. Just try... Please... Please..."

Hinton accepted and Elyssa again began to mend Riph. As before she failed. Hinton had fallen into his short coma and woke up. With his golden eye, he began healing Riph. One minute passed. Nothing. Two, then three minutes passed. Nothing. After almost seven minutes of trying his golden eye faded. Hinton failed.

Elyssa - "No! This cannot be!"

Elyssa laid down at the near the coral. She laid there and cried. She held Riph's hand and continued. Seemingly the more she cried and the more emotional she became, the more, an aura glimmered. Her hands began to glow white. The whiteness of the curing power. Maybe through emotions she was able to learn the last and final magistry she's been training for. Her eyes were closed but everyone saw her hands glowing. They were astonished. Tuan yelled out to open her eyes.

So, Elyssa did. She saw her hands glowing and her tears stopped. She placed her hand near Riph's heart and closed her eyes. Elyssa began to concentrate once more. After minutes of concentration, Elyssa was successful in summoning the healing spell. A green aura lifted from the ground and mended Riph's wounds.
Riph's eyes opened. Opened slowly, but still opened.

Riph - "Elyssa... You... did it... You were able... to finally heal..."
Elyssa - "Oh Riph... Riph... I refused to let you go! Don't ever leave me..."
Riph - "Of course Elyssa, I'll be beside you always."

After the reunion of the dead and the living. Their party continued towards Orbis Tower again. They were able to reach it within minutes. After there short detour they headed for the Orbis Docking Bay. They were going to head back to Victory Island and report back to there mentor's.

Once the party had waited another 15 minutes. Their tenacity had settled down.
They had calmed down to a subtle mood. Hinton had sat down again, as before during their journey from Maple Island. Elyssa and Riph held their hands and gazed at the sunset. The other two, Tuan and Alit settled down and just chilled out. They were in a decent mood. Though Tuan was still troubled about Clous.
Even with his "Cloud Strike" technique he wasn't able to even touch Clous. His technique was for only one purpose. A continues wave of sword strokes to insure an un-endless probability of a hit rate. He failed. His Technique failed.

Once supper on the ship had come his mind left his problems. He and Alit's mind drifted to the food. Roasted chicken and fablious cake. They were droolling. They were hungry. Suddenly the ship rattled. It rattled from bomb fire. Them and the ship's crew were being bombarded by pirates! And one of them was Cyn. A thief that Tuan had met in Perion. Will their friendship stop this sudden attack?!

Seconds after the party and crew went out of to the deck the pirates already arrived. Tuan noticed his friend and ran up. Tuan tried to negotiate. It seemed that his friend Cyn paid no attention. Their siege was continuing. As long as the ship doesn't sink all should be fine. Was this going to be a duel between friends?

As Tuan steps towards Cyn to ask for an explanation; Cyn hurdles back between the other pirates. He yells out and screams.

Cyn - "Pilage this ship! We get rich quick..."
Tuan - "Wait... Cyn! Cyn isn't that you?!"

Cyn's ears don't work too well. He hears no such voices and command his pirate crew to take the money of the guests and all of the members onboard. His cape wavered in the dark sky. He was Cyn, the sinful pirate of the skies. His fame was quite favored across all of Gaia. Maybe not to Tuan, but Cyn was much more than the thief he met in Perion. He was Pirate. Moreso, a Pirate captain. Tuan continued to yell out to get Cyn's attention. Frustrated and unheard, Tuan asked Alit for a small favor.

Tuan's favor was simple. He asked Alit to run towards Cyn, and tell him that he, Tuan was onboard. From there he told Alit he knew Cyn.

Alit - "What?! You... You know that infamous pirate of the skies?!"
Tuan - "Huh? Uh... If that's what you call him... please... Tell Cyn I'm here"
Alit - "A'ight... I'll be back in a few seconds"

Alit ran acrossed the walls of the dining hall and flipped out the doorway. Several pirates were before his path to Cyn. Alit's agility and flexibility allowed him to weave and twist between the small gaps. His speed made him nearly invisible to the naked eye. After seconds of leaving Tuan, Alit ran across the ship's deck and stood beside Cyn.

Cyn - "Hey mate, You've got quite some speed. You cant keep up with me, Haha"
Alit - "Na... I'm better than the legendary pirate... I'm a legend too! y'know"
Cyn - "Ha, That's a bluff... never seen you before!"
Alit - "Oh that's right... It's cause, I'm famous for -- The one better than Cyn!"

Hearing this aggravated Cyn and he drew out his Iron Dagger. He darted his arm across Alit's face. Only inches and Alit would have a hole through his head. Alit jumped back and stood in his stance. He too drew out his dagger. Unusual this time; He drew out two daggers. Alit was experimenting his new style.

Was this smart? Alit has never used his "Twin-Blade" technique... and using it against the legendary pirate could be fatal. Alit's eyes narrowed. He looked right into Cyn's eyes. Cyn checked Alit's eye's as well. Each glancing at their surrounding to keep check. But kept severe detail upon each other. Cyn's henchmen continued to raid the ship, allowing Hinton, Tuan, Elyssa, and Riph into some buccaneer action.

Finally after minutes of glancing back and forth at each other. Cyn's eyes blinked. It opened again and Alit was gone. He looked left. He looked right. Cyn could not sense Alit at all.

Alit - "Hey up here slowpoke!"

The voice of Alit echoed downwards from the top of the mass. Cyn didn't even look up but he ran off and vanished too. Alit focused on his environment. Nothing, not a clue of Cyn anywhere. Finally, a slash struck Alit. His arm spewing blood, slowly but continously. Alit hurdled down near the cabin again. No other pirates were in-sight. Cyn jumped down as well. Cyn adn Alit faced each other at the port-side deck of the ship. Alit's nerves got to him. He didn't act calmly anymore. His body trembled. Was it from fear or from anxiaty? It seemed that he lost control and flipped backwards. On the down, as gravity pulled, he threw both daggers. Sadly, he missed both completely missed and went pass Cyn.

Cyn - "Are you losing it mate?"
Alit - "Not... At all... sucker"

Landing from his acrobatics, Alit clasped his hands as holding string. Indeed he was holding string! He pulled back his daggers and crossed his arms. Since the strings went pass Cyn as well, this could be used as a strangle rope. Alit wasn't using this string to strangle and contain. Alit used special string for this technique. It was hard and sharp. It could slit throught anything, Even wood. Alit planned to cut Cyn in several peices.

Alit was too slow. Cyn had already jumped out of the way. Second, Cyn threw another dagger at Alit's. This would trap the daggers meaning Alit couldn't use them anymore, at least for this duel. Alit's hands were still wrapped with the string. With his daggers stuck, and himself attached to the string; Alit was immobilized. A thief with out mobility is a sitting duck. A sitting duck waiting to get shot. Cyn rushes towards him.

After seconds, Alit was going to be directly stabbed in the throat by Cyn. This could've been the end of Alit's life. From the Dining Hall, Tuan had finished off a pack of pirates. The door was open and he was witnessing Alit's demise. Tuan had spritned with his light armor and ran out to the deck where Alit and Cyn were dueling. He rushed out the door!

Tuan - "Cyn! Stop... He's my friend!"

Cyn was shock to here Tuan's voice, in mid-air, Cyn turned his head and glared at Tuan. His eyes widened and his face turned calm. Cyn twisted his arm making sure to miss Alit. Alit was shocked as well. Alit thought he was going to be a goner.

Cyn - "Tuan! Your the guy from Perion aye?"
Tuan - "Yeah... Cyn the legendary pirate... Nice to see you"
Alit - "Tuan... Thank You..."
Cyn - "This guy thought he could out-best me! He thought wrong"
Tuan - "What?! That wasn't the plan! You were suppose to tell him I'm onboard!"
Alit - "Hey.. I said thanks for saving my life."
Tuan - "That's not my point! I'm usually the one screwing things up... Not You!"

As Cyn calls his crew to stand down, Hinton steps outside to greet their new guest. They conversed and the continued the ship to Ellinia. Hours later, They finally arrived in Ellinia, Victory Island. Cyn's pirates left and scourged the skies... More piracy would be in Cyn's mind. The Party, left the ship. Waiting to be greeted by the three brothers: Chun Ji, Kanji, Manji! They were already aligned with evil...

Alit - "DAMl\l It! We've been fighting endlessly... When will this end?!"
Hinton - "That's true... First Kanji, and Manji fight us... It seems that they've corrupted their brother as well. Next, we're greeted by Clous on Aqua Road. After... Pirates come and invade our ship, Now we've got another encounter with the brothers, There's just too much fighting going on.
Riph - "Yeah, and we seem to be the target!"
Tuan - "Hey! Cyn didn't mean to attack us!"
Hinton - "It's okay, we've got enemies before us, lets handle them"

A sudden surge of lightning shocked the three brothers. They faded into black smoke and vanished.

Grendel - "No need, We've got it under control."
Atticus - "Grendel's right, we've had Victory Island in our hands since you've left. It's been chaos this whole time. The Fifth has continued to summon monsters to fight us. All the "Users" on Gaia have been fighting to save it. We are all that stands in the way of sheer destruction."

Dark Lord, Grendel, "Dances with Barlog", Althena, and Atticus appear at the entrance of the port. They were battle-torn and scarred.

Hinton - "Alright, Since we're all here this is our report"

Hinton explained to the apprentice avatars about they're encounter with Clous, and the connections of the Fifth and Clous. The apprentices were astonished. Hinton and the others continued to report. Soon after, the apprentices told them to go back to their towns. Their duty will be called forth again, when needed.

Weeks after their duty was called; Their encouter with Clous has passed. The Four heroes have already surpassed their mentors. Some like Hinton had gotten new instructors, but what about Alit and Tuan. Elyssa had already mastered wizardy and priesthood, all she worked for now; was powering them. Alit had no instructors he'd been practicing alone, it worked for him. Still, he was a good person, but from previous endeavors and events, his mind clouded even more with darkness.

Tuan on the other hand had continued to party with his friends in Perion. Cyn and Guy supported him. Though he continued to screw things up. They didn't mind. Life was again very much the same for all of them. Until, Alit and Tuan both recieved letters from Atticus. They were both told to head to Henesy and meet him, Atticus, infront of the Bowman's headquarters.

Alit and Tuan headed there immediately. Upon their arrival, they were greeted by Atticus and two other elders.

Atticus - "Alit, Tuan, these are my brothers. You seem to be lacking training and for sure these two will guide you."
Alit - "Eh, I don't need to get better, I'm already better than Dark Lord"
Axel - "Your skills may be better than Dark Lord's but you seemed to have failed against Cyn."
Alit - "Hey! How do you know that?! Tuan! Did you go spreading that?!"

Atticus - "Alit, Your knew instructor is Axel, he should be able to make you a better adept of speed and evasion. Tuan, Auron has been a warrior all his life, I think... I think he has a few tricks he can show you too"

Hinton made no appearance to them for he was busy training on his new power. Another hidden power of his has been seen by Atticus. When will he introduce it to the others?

Alit left with Axel. His heated head led to another race to Kerning. Alit remember the day he met Lu. He got even more angered and it urged him to win. Sadly, He lost... Again. Axel's speed was completely out of his league.

Tuan and Auron took the taxi and headed to Perion.

Tuan was walking away; waving his goodbye to his bed. Auron threw his heavy-blade much like javelin. It struck one of the stone pillars near Tuan.

Tuan - "Bed... Why?"
Auron - "I didn't say you could, did I?"
Tuan - "Hey man! It's dark I wanna take a break"
Auron - "You're tired from riding a Taxi? That's a poor excuse for a warrior..."

Auron - "Nah... Let's see what you got"

Tuan angered by Aurons remarks turned around and ran toward Auron. Closer and closer he summoned his special technique: "Cloud Strike" He began his endless fury of infinite sword slashes. Auron's eyes kept with the blade. His movements were as precise and the sword strokes. Auron dodged each and every slash Tuan unleashed. By this time, Tuan's stamina ha slowly been drained.

Auron - "As I said, For a warrior you have weak stamina"
Tuan - "Gr... Shut Up!"

Tuan, though tired, continued his "Cloud Strike". Getting bored, Auron finally put out his hand. With precision, he watched for an opening in Tuan's technique, and placed his index and middle fingers on the blade. Emitting from his fingers were immense gravity. Tuan's blade was pulled to the ground. Tuan's sword became impaled to Perion's rocky ground.

Tuan - "What?! How did you do that!"
Auron - "That's my specialty. See my blade... It's 3 times the size of yours and by far heavier. I can only wield it because I have mastered a technique letting me control mass within my fingertips... In theory, If you can completely master this technique, it would let you fly. I cannot do such task... But that's why my goal is to teach you... By the way, this was just to see your skills"
Tuan - "Woah!"
Auron - "Oh yeah... You'll also be able to use my sword and still be able to perform your "Cloud Strike"; weight will not limit you"

After, Tuan left to sleep. He returned in the morning and began training in Auron's ways. He would continue to train till he would master it. Until he would be able to fly. To create a true: "Cloud Strike"

Tuan's training with Auron began the following day. For Alit, His began immediately after Him and Axel arrived in Kerning. It's been several more weeks and their new training continued. Tuan's abilities gradually increased and his ability of manipulating gravity has slowly progressed.

Alit's training was also going well; though he did not seem to see the benefits. His speed increased. Once he began to run, he became nearly invisible to the naked eye, only wisps of the wind could be seen.

More days passed and Tuan's training had nearly completed. His final task was to levitate himself. He continued to fail; try after try... Still, Tuan did not give up.
Alit on the other hand, began to slack off. Nothing amused him anymore, he did what he was told, but nothing more.

Axel had become annoyed by this, and finally one day, he brought along a helping hand.

Axel - "Alit, I want you to meet my other apprentice"

Alit turned around from stretching and then his eyes widened. And raged filled inside him. What he saw was a familiar face. A familiar face that he did not intend to give graciousness upon.

Alit - "Why the HeII is he here?"

It would be a clash between two theives. Their encounter was closing in, inch by inch. Finally with only a few centimeters apart, Axel appeared before and, Axel quickly grabbed their wrists and finally Axel spun and threw them apart.

Axel - "Now now... you two can't be fighting like that... Or else I wouldn't have apprentices, now what I?"
Alit - "But why him!"
Cyn - "Because I'm the best!"
Alit - "Not for long... I'll best even the legendary pirate"
Cyn - "Okay, I'd like to see you do that"
Alit - "Hey, Axel... Is that how you knew I lost against Cyn on the Ship?"
Axel - "Yeah... Cyn told me everything, He also told me you'd be a good canidate"

After that day, Alit's initiative grew once again. He began training with all his heart and effort. One alone, Cyn and Axel conversed:

Cyn - "Sigh* You didn't tell him everything..."
Axel - "Well ya... If I told him that you knew he could beat you... Then he'd slack off again... And maybe he wouldn't turn out better thatn you... Alit's a bit different... A Special Avatar; One that could wield all Powers: Strength,Sense, Knowledge, and Stealth



Hey, out of interest does this remind anyone (if they watch it) of the American Anime series "Avatar: The Last Airbender".

Oh and what is the special Avatar :o Maybe i find out if I keep reading lol but it's a long post :P

Well... I take ack completely original... ideas are based on many things... many things...

Games.. and T.V. shows...
for example:
Hinton's Golden eye resembles Sasuke (Naruto Anime) and his sharingan
there's a few more in the "Story"

but... the artwork that i've started for this project, is kinna based on Final Fantasy Characters...

Clous looks very much like cloud... from FFVII
Alit - Locke (FFVI)
A few more stuff like that... but ya...

how do you have one arrow between each finger and get 5? you would have 4 arrows max...
other than that... it was okay for me...
