lmao, runescape is java based, therefore their db is made up of javascript, some compilers blah blah blah. Jagex is not just made up of Andrew Gower, your best bet of contacting them is by posting in the forums, which you need to be a member to do. Why do you even want to know about this?

And also, there wasn't much of a program that was used to make it, they made the game from scratch, using Java.
The only real program that was used in the making of this game was a Java compiler.

Indeed, and the first thing you need to realize about runescape is that they could not care less about the community. F2p or P2p.

They could have done better with a modeling program....and a compiler. I prefer C++ just because it really doesnt have alot of limits besides the code. With Direct X9 a great modeling program GFX program, and music program it is or can be amazing! I think its alot beter then Java.

You see, that's why they call it a browser based Java game.

They should have made a client instead of a browser game.With a client they could have a larger world,better GFX, and the game would be less laggy.

But Runescape was created back in 1999. There weren't many Client based 3D games out then. It was pretty much all 2D Broswer games.

As was said before, RuneScape wasn't completley created with Java. Java, if used for Object Oriented Program, can only use 2D. It isn't 3D.

Incorrect.
Those that are skilled with graphics can make was is 2-D look like 3-D. It takes alot of skills and practice, but it can be done.
It all depends on shadowing and perspective lines.
The whole engine and everything it displays is java based. If there was a 2nd language to allow 3-D, it would be the display, meaning that you would not need java installed to play the game. It would instead use some other kind of plug-in.
But all it needs is java.

If you turn you Character to the side, it is completley 3D, I don't think you can do that with Java. . .
If you can, then you are very skilled with Java, or know something I don't O_o;;
