Ever had a person that u really loved? the first thing you thought about in the morning was that person, when you went to bed that person was the last thing on your mind?
I lost that person because of my stupid mistakes.
The phone calls from that person seemed to brighten up my day..
The smile that could always make me feel better..
the feeling of being wanted...
when we broke up i realized that her love was the only thing that made me feel alive..
her love was a drug...
we were in high school when we were together.
I lost connections with this special person for about 3 years, and tried to find her for about a 4 months...
during that time i listened to this song over and over and over and everytime i cried.
This is the best love song i have ever heard..it motivated me to find her..
the singers name is lenny williams and he also was going throught what i was when he was making this song.
he cried throught out this song while he was singing and ive cried with him everytime.
i found my love and caught up on the 3 years of not seeing each other, i invited her to my place and played this tune, i was about to cry and tried to keep it in.when i looked at her i saw she was crying..
we cried together and from that day on we have been in love...
ive found my soul mate
Lenny Williams - cause i love you

Tens of MILLIONS of Love Songs better than that.
....A good deal of them written by Smokey Williams.
And also...the STYLISTICS.

Don't get me wrong though, that's one of my favorite songs.

Love is bullshart. It just panders to momentary emotions, lasts just long enough to want to hit it and quit it. Kind of a natural occurrence to spur on procreation I suppose. :)
The only reason love songs are appreciated is because everyone feels the same at one point or another.

Haha dude, half of these people that sing about someone they love, they end up ditching that old lady for a new hot squeeze sooner or later. I'm not saying the feeling is false, I'm just saying the feeling is momentary it's not like it lasts. (can't think of the word that'd explain better than that)

you have a very dim view of your fellow man. not everyone becomes bitter you know, what about old people who are ugly as **** but are still together? thats love that lasts.

Those people just have no self esteem and just stay with the person they're familiar with because they don't think they can do any "better"
What can I say, I'm a cynic. Though in theory it's all pretty true. :)

28 years in and my parents would disagree with you, so would many.
You're probably a cynic because you've been burned, or you're inexperienced enough to think that we all mean the movie love, not real love.

My parents are still married as well, around the same amount of time too, maybe even 28 years exactly. I don't know about your parents but my mom regularly wishes her life was different, which would mean she wouldn't be married to my dad and I would never have been born. The sense of love fades for many people and I know a lot of people relate their feelings of love with 'here and now' scenarios. Also, still being in high school, I see regular morons say they love each other and they break up the next day.
More or less, I mean a majority of people don't truly know what love really is, or should be. Therefore love is bullshart to me because too many people shit on it.

dude... based on your views (in bold) you have a very skewed view on life
you base your entire view of the human race on
A - your moms unhappy marriage
and
B - people at your highschool (people being an unknown number)
seriously dude, to any normal person (questionable term i'll admit) this is very retarded.
i hate stereotypes and all but.... you seem totally bitter and introverted
people at my highschool said they loved each other, and they all broke up... but in hindsight i know that most highschool romances rarely work... thats why theres all those films about them. i think you should try living a few more years or so before you start deciding what is worthwhile and what is worthless
you need to chill out a bit dude, your bitterness is becoming kinda obvious. not trying to be the judge of you but... in my opinion... getting bitter aint good.

I never said my mom was unhappily married, I just said she thinks her life could have turned out better. If she was unhappily married she'd be divorced.

Just the reverse you'd be assuming that everyone else I am not considering is happily in love. I'm just taking into account of personal experiences, excluding fictional instances and media portrayals. You can never assume anything or prejudge anything in your case to say that you have to take every single individual into account. Truth hurts, doesn't mean I'm bitter. I just know how useless love is because 90% of people want to be animalistic anyways, hit it and quit it. I don't even know why society bothers to continue to fool themselves. That is the only thing I'm bitter about, people fooling themselves.
I'm not gonna fool you and tell you exact numbers or percentages because I have never done a study on it. I just recall an overwhelming number of instances.
The bottom line is, for as much as love is spat up, the few cases it does exists ABSOLUTELY pales in comparison.

Why not apply your personal views of love to yourself, and not everyone else, simple because you are bitter?
Allow me to break your post:
"You can never assume anything or prejudge anything in your case to say that you have to take every single individual into account.".
^^^ That does not coincide with:
"I mean a majority of people don't truly know what love really is, or should be.".
Yeah, might want to stop speaking for people you don't know. Love has not real limit to when it becomes real or fake. Those "morons" in school are obviously not living up to YOUR definition of love, but they may not know any better. To them, that may be love. I'm in love, deeply in love, have been for a long time. Mine may differ from yours.
You decide for yourself how real love is, and experiences change it or shape it.
Love isn't useless just because you feel people just want to hit it and quit it. Can you prove that 90%? Don't quote stats if you can't back them up.
Basically, all you have is "I'm bitter, I've had bad experiences.".

We're suppose to back off and let him push himself on us?
Do you see the problem therein?

Not really to be honest, I see a problem. I just posted what sprung to my mind, it's not that important, more about the tone. You where right to point out, that his way of viewing the world isn't coherent.
It's been a returning issue though from his side and that makes it a more serious thing to me than most others. Besides that I think that he will in any way grow out of that "love is seriouse biznez" I just thought that there isn't the need to pressure him. He is doing that himself already.
