I'm not saying that your post is inaccurate and I'm not arguing it, but I really find it hard to differentiate which games are actually good and which are just the next ones that are being hyped.

I don't go on these boards too much but it seems that every time I do, it's either people hyping the next f2p game or the latest f2p game that came out (and was hyped b4) is being labled as a shitty game.

Can someone just honestly say whether the game is decent or not.

I didn't hype Rohan at all, and neither did I say Neo Steam was good, I tried them both, Rohan is just a generic grind game with no added fun elements, I also tried Neo Steam Korean version and liked it better than Rohan.

Neosteam all the way ... but maybe also going to play a little Rohan =/

I'm not saying either games are bad, or if any games are bad, some people just get way too excited about certain games hence the word hype. I liked both Rohan and Neo-Steam, but each game needs a little tweaking to be my next MMO, though it will probably be Warhammer Online.

Rohan is getting a go bot for Christmas , when you wanted a transformer. Its like Stormtrooper in New Hope vs Stormtrooper in the clone wars. Its like buying a Blizzard from Sonic , when they tip it upside down , the ice cream falls on the floor and they ask you to clean it up.

NeoSteam has a personality , its like when you get 30 , and the dating pool is getting dry , you find a nice girl who isnt a model but has a great personality and you two have fun together. Its like winning the lottery with your last 3 bucks and your house is about to forclose.

people like me who prefer realistic-looking graphics over cartoonish graphics will choose Rohan all the way. I tried both games, and believe it or not Neosteam did not get my attention at all. Rohan was actually more fun, though I didn't level past 20 because it was CB...

And yes I know. Played both games in CB for a longer period. I can say one thing in favor of Neosteam, it has potential. And hearing the storys about the Korean Neo, its ALOT better. But do you wanne wait a year+ to get the same stuff they have? Ofcourse, most people here will play it and hype it, then after a week or so move on. I'll pass on both of them, been there, done that....

Neo Steam -- it is a new fresh look in the MMORPG market. Otherwise, if you prefer Rohan, you should be content with Rappelz, Sho, or whatever generic Korean grinder is coming out.

It's funny how the ROHAN-tards decided to crash three new Open Betas as soon as they were released, including SHO Online, now, I prefer ROHAN over Neosteam by 100%, but what made them feel as if they'd need to advertise themselves on other people's games? I know this has almost nothing to do with the topic, I just find it funny. Anyways, if Neo Steam is such a "fresh look" on the MMORPG market, how come the original developers said they were not happy with the turnout of the overall import? Just asking a question, if it's so "fresh" and stuff like that.

I just don't like NeoSteam's point and click to move option. I remember in the beginning of the game, I had to climb a small mountain/hill to kill some PooPoos. But I had to CLICK the right spot or else my character will get stuck, or not go up.
The point-n-click option in NeoSteam is even worse than Runescapes, since in RS at least if you click somewhere, you're character will go around obstacles to get there.


To be honest, I like Requiem better than both, since you can move more freely on it. With jumping and throwing knives into their body and all that.

No offense, but PvP fails IMO with point and click games. No way to move freely=fail. Stand right next each other taking turns hitting.

I don't know but I've been messing around with the NeoSteam JP version and I kinda like it. Sure it seems like your average generic mmo, but I like its style. It's not another one of the L2 influenced mmos or the super anime cartoony ones.

Rohan seems to me like its going to be the next hype and then when it finally gets released, the majority of people here will switch sides and talk about how much it sucks. Or maybe I'm wrong and Rohan really is that good. I'll find out when it actually hits OB. As of right now, my interests are in Requiem but NeoSteam seems like it might have its fun.

I found it very hard to move around in neo steam. You had to wait like 2 seconds in between clicking where you want your character to go. It also seems hard to learn. It feels too pathy. You will be walking, and you go too close to a building or something, and ur character stops moving. then you have to go around that part with the 2 second cool down for movement and continue going wherever the hell you were headed. It has some pretty cool ideas to it tho. I really really like the big clunky machinery that looks primitive, but is way more advanced. I'll have to try rohan. It looked like rohan had some cool animations to it, but everyone says they are choppy and bad. If it doesnt have cool, smooth animations, it has nothing going for it.

well, i am guessing those that had trouble with moving around in Neosteam were facing bugs and glitches. The game was in closed beta after all, its natural for there to be invisible obstacles or interferences that will prevent you from doing something. However, if there was a target you cannot attack but that can attack u...now that will be a major problem. When I played, I confronted countless mobs that were just...sitting there. I can click them, but I couldn't attack them, cast spells, nothing. And they in turn did not do anything at all. I am guessing this was part of the glitch/bug in the game, but I guess they will fix it in the upcoming OB.

Regardless, I set graphics and visuals as one of the top priorities when I decide to play a game, sorry for all those who prefer gameplay over graphics, but meh, thats how I am. Hence why I chose Rohan over Neosteam. Sure Rohan is like any other Korean generic grinder, but I would rather play a game with good graphics for a short while and then move on, rather than stare at cartoonish visuals for longer periods of time. (World of Warcraft is an exception...)

well yes, I never did elaborate on the good graphics part. Yes, Neosteam does have good visuals, but the visuals that I am looking for are more in line with realistic-looking characters, environments, etc. I am not saying that Neosteam is bad, its just that, I like games like Guild Wars, Eve Online, Lineage 2, Granado Espada, etc...you get my picture? All these games have one thing common, which is that visuals are close imitations of the real world environment, with realistic eyes, face features, body proportions, weapons, etc. When I mean that I would rather play games with good graphics like Rohan, I meant that way. Neosteam does have good graphics, compared to many other cartoon-graphics mmos I've played in the past.

So if you can move while fighting, you cant use pots? If you use PnC you cant move while fighting? What kind of logic is that? You are weird~

Ermh... If you can move while fighting you can dodge attacks and cast skills before the enemie heals, since hes busy trying to run, attack, and heal himself. Really hard to heal and attack at the same time.

If its pnc its really hard to run from a fight and all they do its stand still with one hand on pots shortcuts and another on skills shortcuts. All you do is heal your char while he fights, and command him to use a skill.

Use your brain if you have one.

Please don't laugh. It's already depressing as it is that by the time we get global verisons of korean games, they're old as hell already. Did you pvp in diablo2 ? Ever tried pvping using bowazon / tri-elementalist? You run around and pvp at the same time.

All those screenshots still fail by leeps and bounds to rohan just look at the armor textures and the character its extremely pixelated and low res, im sorry but rohan still crushes in graphics, its not a matter of opinion, graphics are technical and rohans technical ability beats neosteam in graphics.

I saw someone discussing the gfx on Neo and Rohan. Rohan is in every aspect superior in gfxs. Everyone with eyes can see that.

However, the gameplay can vary. So if you like Neo, play Neo. If you like Rohan, play Rohan. At the moment, most ppl want to play Rohan. Fact. Perhaps it's a bad hype.. We will know that when Rohan reaches OB.

Maybe your clicking dead mobs. You know that when the monsters die, It will stay there until someone takes the loot from them. Dunno if it will stay forever or disappear in a certain time

oh Btw, Neosteam for me.

then maybe its a dead-mob glitch, cause the monster seems fine, it is not in the "dead" animation state that most working mobs do when you kill them. Its upright like most other mobs, but it does not do anything, move around, make noise, w/e.

Hmm...rohan is more "solid" imo..and you don't have to wait to have GvG battles. Neosteam it only has RvR 2 hours each week which is lame but it makes it special I guess.

As far as grind I'd much rather grind in rohan than neosteam though I think neosteam has a cooler design rohan reminds me a lot of lineage 2 so I like it a bit more :P

Though honestly if requiem puts up the rates I'd put that one as #1 cuz the bloody effect is just way too fun to watch.

Yesterday I went and try the Chinese Version of Neosteam (mind you, I'm Chinese and I fully understand it), and the game turns out to be a piece of rotten shit in terms of graphics even if you maxed out everything in the settings. The "firewall" skill looks like a fireball. Seriously...

Now I'd rather go for Rohan. Even though it sucks.

Yesterday I went and try the Chinese Version of Neosteam (mind you, I'm Chinese and I fully understand it), and the game turns out to be a piece of rotten shit in terms of graphics even if you maxed out everything in the settings. The "firewall" skill looks like a fireball. Seriously...

Although I do not deny that my computer isn't that great, but I can safely assure you that it's good enough to handle such an old game like NeoSteam, with all graphics maxed out. From screenshots, they also depicted how mediocre its graphics are, as everyone can see.

I mean opposing to this thread question, I'd rather go for Rohan (even though it's sucky to me) than NeoSteam because NeoSteam is a very bad game to me.

Graphics a game does not make. It's the gameplay that interests me and neosteam has what I look for in a mmo.

I like shit graphic good gameplay games, but the thing is, neosteam has shit grahpics AND shit gameplay and shit animations blah blah blah.

Thats the thing if your calling the graphics "pathetic" its obviously your computer, its quality equals that of RF online on my computer (1280x1024 res, if your running 1024x768 that might be why)

Also try enabling at least AA x4 or more for all applications in your video card settings, that helps pretty much all games cept a select few..

i would prefer cabal than rohan >.< but ill try to play rohan also to compare.

I haven't tried any of those yet but considering the screenshots, videos and all the info I would go to Rohan

Checking screenshots and videos is normally a really crap way to find out whether a game is good or not so meh id say wait till OB before making a decision on rohan.

NeoSteam was bad, graphics, gameplay, wanna-be WoW-like game, they armor and weapon details were ugly

the skills where ugly, u basically solo on that game, so boring, and i seen this one vid, it looked like a wanna be FlyFF

Neosteam? Ewww, I hated the level fixed summons and tamed monsters. That was just plain gay.
