Does anyone here play the actual D&D, like the paper game? I do, I'm a DM. But, I have a hard time finding good resources. I am looking for a good image generator. A detailed one, not too cartoon like either! i found one, but it looked like a comic book character generator. Hero Generator is what I think it was called. So, if you know of any image or avatar generators that look like a scetch or at least a really good drawing, please tell me!

4th Ed, is supposed to come with some software that generates how your character looks with all their equipment on, as well as use that as a miniature in the map portion of the software.

I know how to, and I've got books dating back to 2nd Edition. I've never had a group to play with though, so they languish on a shelf, gathering dust.

For the hour and a half I carefully treaded into the D&D club in the library, I was a dwarf rogue. But, even though I hoped for the best, and the game was actually fun once you climbed the Mt. Fuji of a learning curve, they were just too God damn creepy.

When i first bought my NWN Diamond set and i played it i was like 'wtf is this 1d8' and everytime i attacked i wondered what were those numbers in blue, the DC stuff. After that somehow i read the pnp rules. So i guess i would know how to play if i had someone to actually play with.

Images?!?!?! IMAGES?!?!?!

-_-

A good description and a good imagination is all you need. I can see players drawing their characters because they are really personal and can be very extensive. But I've never seen a DM use generated images for characters. They describe it to us, and we use our imagination.

Course, maybe we're all more hard-core than most people these days...:):p

I love paper role playing games of all types, but my favorite character is from D&D.(I put a lot of time into this guy)
It was a lvl. 20 Wizard, lvl 20 Fighter, lvl 10 Spellsword, lvl 16 Rouge, lvl 10 Assassin (lvl 76 total) Yuan-ti Half-Blood. He rode a Hippogriff and wielded dual +3 Great Swords, one enchanted with frost the other with flame. And I had a Shocker Lizard as my companion. But even though I had the two huge swords(and was quite large myself), I was epically stealthy. I can't remember all the enchantments I had, but in the end the skills the hide and move silently bonuses were about 35-40.
I also had a few (now, I can't think of any other word to use here to describe this, sohelpmegod) keen enchanted items.
One was a ring that once per day it could cast full invisibility, leave no trace, and some spell that completely muffled your sounds for 1 hour.
The other was this dagger, quite a special dagger from hell. It allows me to cut a hole in reality to another location of my choice, and I can then slip through and seal the tear back up. When I first got the dagger it had three charges, and I used two of them through my character's life.

He was epic:(

I have a friend who can draw amazingly, but, he cannot draw what I imagine. I explain my image as detailed as possible, but he has a different image in his mind, although I tell him mine. you see? I just want my players to have an established image, so that they can share their vision! I think the game will be a lot more interactive, or, at least my players will get drawn into gameplay more. And, to the person that went to the library D&D club, not ALL of us players and DMs are creepy. Geeky is a give in, but creepy, we are not.XD
