When I first bought my lg shine, someone said that you have to use up all the battery before charging it. Why?

That person is probably an idiot.. there are some things you aren't supposed to overcharge, but I've never heard of a depletion clause.. Sounds stupid.

this has to do with most/all chargeable electronics - it has something to do with making the battery life longer... if you charge it right away it will decrease the battery life

i never was interested enough to go look up why... but yeah, that's the reason you've been told so

Not really. You just need to charge it at the correct time.

This must be the only reason why they told you that. Otherwise, its just stupid.

Rofl, you have to do that with almost all batteries.

Honestly, for a bunch'a blokes who come to Onrpg trying to give electronic advice, at least give a BIT more detail in why you think that is.

Say your battery is at 3 bars. And then it goes to 1. Wait until it's on the brink of shutting down or when it's off completely. If you charge the battery, any battery, when it has a lot of juice left, that actually sucks it out, replaces it, and gives it the same amount of energy it had before. You're wearing out the battery faster by charging it when it still has some power left.

Much Love,

Rob
