It depends on your internet provider too by the way, so you might
want to tell us who your provider is and what kind of internet connection
you have.

For some reason everytime I reformat my computer I get a new IP address. Also, what angel said is correct. The IP changing methods can only work with some ISP. Maybe call them and ask?

God Hand, if the "ipconfig /release" and "ipconfig /renew" don't work, then you probably have a Static IP connection. In order to change your IP freely, you need a Dynamic IP connection. You IP is basically whatever your ISP's DHCP server has it configured to. Unless you have a Dynamic IP, you're not going to be able to change your IP unless you call up your ISP and request an IP change.

I'm that that informed on IP's so you might want to search Google to see if there are any ways of changing a static IP. I doubt you can though.

Really? How did you manage to change it? I'd love to learn something knew.

Left the Maple Story section? Never! I just visit here and there when I'm extremely bored. The trolls in the General section scare me.

Reset your router, or my dad once told me to change the MAC address in your router configuration (192.168.1.1) and reset the router.

My ISP is a little weird. My IP is semi-static. When I do a ipconfig /all, I can see these two line

Lease Obtained. . . . . . . . . . : Thursday, May 15, 2008 10:49:16 AM
Lease Expires . . . . . . . . . . : Saturday, May 17, 2008 10:49:16 AM

Meaning that my IP wouldn't change until the lease expire at Saturday, May 17, 2008 10:49:16 AM

Anyone seen this before?
