sorry guys but im lvl 16 and it just came accross me that i didnt know how to upgrade components, i read the manuscript but i didnt find anything on it can anyone tell me how to upgrade components

What do you mean by upgrading components?

If you mean adding mods to weapons, double click them and click the weapon. Usually when an item can be attach to another item it says so in the descrption or right below the Value of the item.

Example: Barbed Sword Hilt
Legthens bleeding duration on foes by 33%
Double click to apply to weapon,(or something like that)

Same with runes and Dyes.

does it have to be a certain weapon? what can i use to upgrade my fire staff

well first you'll need a salvage kit above the first one and salvage a staff for ex. fire staff of warding and then use it oin it to get like a staff wrap of warding and use that on your staff your useing,

Double click the wrapping, then single click on your staff. Your allowed two mods on that staff, a wrapping and a head. If you add a mod, and later find a better one (eg fortitude, +23 then you get a +30), you can upgrade it again, it will ask you if you would like to replace the current mod.
