So, I'm looking for some good Japanese MMORPGs to practice my Japanese. Anyone have any suggestions?
I'm basically looking for something with, hopefully, a fantasy element to it. Also, people need to play. I won't be able to practice Japanese if there's no one to talk to.
I don't care about English speakers for it or anything. I basically just want a fun game in Japanese.
Thanks for the help!

First of all, how good is your Japanese? I don't think playing Japanese MMORPGs would help you with your Japanese skills....at all. I am Japanese and I've played Japanese MMOs for a while and the words they use are pretty confusing for foreigners to understand (slang words). If your japanese skills are close to High school/College level, Im sure you will be able to understand some of the things they're talking about...but if not, don't even bother playing.

romanji:
yume sekai
japanese:
夢世界
english:
dream world
in my opinion, is a good 3D [not sidescroller] mmorpg~
however, it's english community isn't very vast in comparison to arad senki's~
or if anything, you can always play fantasy earth ;x~

Ahh, thanks for all the replies!
First, let's start off with Japanese ability. I took two years of university and have also studied by myself. I can hold good conversations (having just returned from Japan after so much recent study, I can say I was happy with my vast progress), and I know all the general use kanji (yay heisig!). So, I should have any problem communicating. I'm not trying to use this game to pick up Japanese, haha. That's be hard.
I currently read Japanese manga and some books (still can't really read Harry Potter too well... damn book is hard in Japanese), and have enough skill level to look up a definition of a new word in Japanese. So, honestly, I don't think it is a problem.
Now, Arado Senki looked OK from the movies of it I saw. However, it is side-scrolling, which is definitely a hamper for me. I'm not a huge fan of that. But I do have one question to the semantics of the game: Are there common town areas or something where people can meet up? Also, I saw video of guys that (seemed to be grouped) going around a dungeon. Is it possible to meet with people without grouping while in a dungeon? Or is it a... damn I forgot the word... "zoned dungeon" (I mean like in Guild Wars where you go into a dungeon and you and group are the only ones there)?
Also, I am going to go right now to check out 夢世界! I haven't even heard of it! And 3D non-sidescrolling sounds pretty good.

No... it would definitely be Arado.
In Japanese, the word would have to end in a vowel, never a consonant. The only exception to that would be if it were "n" or... hmm, the next one is more explaining.
The sounds of Japanese:
Let's use hiragana for this. あ い う え お (A I U E O)
I won't get into pronunciation, but these sounds add on to consonants (assuming it is being romanized) like K, T, S, etc to form more sounds.
So you get か き く け こ (ka, ki, ku, ke, ko) when you add to "vowels" to the "k". For S : さ し す せ そ (sa shi su se so). I know it is shi and not si, that's not a mistype. That's the correct sound. (But that doesn't stop Japanese signs from being romanized si, haha).
The T column has exceptions, but it is necessary to explain why you are wrong here.
The T column is : た ち つ て と (Ta *CHI* *TSU* Te To)
So CHI is there for whatever reason... guess they didn't want to say "Ti". I'm not into linguistics, I just like the language. However, let's look at TSU. TSU isn't too different. However, when you add a diacritical mark (sorry, getting a little linguisticy), it turns into づ, which, funnily enough is typed "du" but is pronounced like dzu.
Diacritical marks and sound changes aside (quick i.e. :sa -> za / ka -> ga), the fact that where the "du" sound would be is actually "dzu" is important because another trait of romanizing Japanese is to drop the final "u" both when pronouncing something (unless you're from kansai, particularly Kyoto).
Now, this means that a common word like です (Desu) would be pronounced like "dess".
Furthermore, it means that for it to be "Arad Senki", the sound "du" would have to exist. And it doesn't. Well, it can... occasionally, but that's new and takes no precedence here.
Therefore it is "Arado Senki" (アラド戦記)
***For people who know some Japanese OR just know what the game (literally! (Don't say "Dungeon's and Fighters!)) translates to***
So I can't figure out Arado. It's written in Katakana and definitely isn't any english sounding word I can think of, nor can I find it in any dictionary.
戦記 (senki) is easy. I'd translate it as records of military affairs (if I wanted to sound snazzy), or just military records, I guess. Maybe even war records. Anyway, that's easy.
So it's basically just arado. It's stumping me.
*EDIT*
Ahh, found the 夢世界 page and first thing I saw was 無料! Makes me happy!
Second thing I saw rose a question:
When it says NPCに声をかけてみよう, does that mean that the NPC's actually talk, as in voices out of your PC? Or is that just being using in general to talk about talking to NPCs? I'm guessing the latter, mostly because I don't encounter Japanese meant for computer literate people on a regular basis.
*EDIT 2*
On looking around 夢世界's page, I found a link to Perfect Word (Jpn version). Can anyone tell me how that game is?

So I'm having a ton of trouble getting Yume Sekai to work.
I keep getting stuck when downloading the patch. It always stops on the file called: 玫瑰花
It's really frustrating because no matter what I do, it won't download. I just want to play this damn game!
