funny, i heard what i said from the closed beta players
and any of them found the sligthest similatiry to WoW,in absolutly anything. on the contrary,they just said its a revamped L2 with the ability to fly for a very short time,after an unholy grind to get that skill..and that in the CB,were the exp rate suposedly is ten folded....

It looks really nice but from the videos it showed people grinding on monsters and yes flying is cool but really how long will it be till the novalty ends. I can't see this game having anything special apart from its graphics and if im gonna pay for a game this year for graphics im gonna buy Guild Wars 2.

If this game were f2p I would kill myself. It deserves p2p.

And for the record i checked a while back its saying that we should expect it around Q1 of 2009 no surprise since its still in Korean testing.

o one more thing about the grind since unless you have checked some fansites you probably havent seen this quote but suposedly they have found a way to minimise the grind on this game. (grind meaning repeated actions bla bla bla) and that was one of NCSOFTs official quotes id love to give this game a try and see what its really like.

So far from videos it really looks like a Next Gen mmorpg and seems like its gonna be one we have truly been waiting for.

It depends on the person like WOW some people love it some people hate it. I played WOW because eveyone said it was good. IMO it was just another genric MMO. You can't always go by what others say sometimes you have to try it yourself.

No but you did base your opinion on someone else's gameplay experience, which is clearly a bad thing to do. You have not tried the game at all, they are playing essentially an unfinished product so reviewing it now would make those decisions in the review moot, since it is not the experience in it's entirety. This thread has nothing to do with WAR, if you like that so much make a topic about that.

Im really excited about this game. The only game that holds my attention right now is GW - but not as much as it used to since GW2 was announced.
(I even have my laptop hooked up to my olevia 747i lcd lol - amazing...I digress) I think both AION and GW2 will be great -both p2p? fine - bring it on.
The only hard thing is waiting - and not wasting my time and energy on all the PoS f2p MMOs out there while doing so. Ive been following as much coverage as possible and check aionsource frequently so Im not just living in speculation-land. I think AION will rock.

i loved both lineage 2 and dark age of camelot, so if aion and warhammer are going to be similar to those two then i will be very happy

dark age of camelot is a pvp game (my favorite mmorpg game of all time)

both are great and i hope aion and warhammer are the same

the grind really isnt that bad in lineage at all anymore, after they added catacombs and necropolis

Ya fly around for a bit, say "whee" then go for more crazy grinding. It really doesn't offer anythin new or exciting gameplay wise. Honestly if it didn't have those good graphics there would be no reason for it to be p2p.

And despite what Jun might say about it not being a grind, it's grindy as hell. But, of course, grinding is in the eye of the MMOer. For a fair comparison play a game like Rappelz. It feels about that grindy.

From what I saw in Closed Beta 2, the game is quest based.
The leveling pace versus grind seemed rather ok.
I'd even complain there's not enough grind and too much casual oriented.

Yes, go ask in MMORPG.com forums, and see how you are called troll by every single member, I post there a lot, my nick there is Ephimero, and I'm one of the most active posters/informer in that forum, there are no Korean closed beta testers in MMORPG.com forums, all of the Western lucky beta testers post at aionsource though, and they all state that the grind is non existant, so good game. By the way, WAR's level cap estimate is 2 hardcore months, while Aion is 1. People reached level 34 out of 50 within 15 days, asking Irisviel, one of the testers, he said the rates during beta are not boosted. 34 was the maximum level in CBT2 and people had a limit on their gaming time of 10 hours per day, no 24/7 excuse here.

The game has a lot of activities, however, beta testers during CBT2 complained about the lack of quests after level ~28ish, surprisingly enough, devs stated that 3 of the 4 areas for 25+ characters were missing during that beta, that's said in one of the Jameinkaiser's translations also. The game is RvR, so yeah, it's focused on pvp, but not on simple pvp. And tersters like the game a lot indeed.

There aren't reviews pointing at Aion negatively, there are things to fix (hello, its beta) but beta testers are loving it.

im not biased,and all the info i got came straight from closed beta testers in mmorpg.com

as far as im concerned,i dont care the smallest fuck about Aion,nor for the good nor for the bad, i will play WAR,and thats all i need.

edit: one way or the other, ppl got to be really idiot to believe that NCSoft and grind are not totally linked terms. for them,"softing" the grind, is making it 9 months instead of 14. thay have always failed to bring a western PoV on their games. they are the climax of "asian mega-grind" game developing.

so yeah,i laught at all of you believing Aion will have paces any similar to a western game like WoW AoC or WAR.

well all i can say a bit of proof never hurts, could you at least drop in some review or something like that before you flame whit no mercy :eye:
