Gaming Concept:
Inspired by the visual images we create in our minds when we listen to our preferred music.

Two buildings.
Giant Stereo building that projects the song, illusions, mana manifestations, and weather effects over the entire city.

Building holding numerous personal stadiums where a player or group of players can create their own music video and have their own audience without being heard by those outside.

Giant Stereo Building:
Can only be used by a player or group that has the most votes for most impressive music, video images.
Music played there is heard over the entire city.
Illusions can be placed anywhere within or overhead the entire city. (Only outside the buildings.)
Mana manifestations can be placed anywhere within or overhead the entire city. (Only outside the buildings.)
Weather effects can be placed anywhere within or overhead the entire city. (Only outside the buildings.)
A number of preset environments can be chosen to act as the setting, base setting before alteration, or to be completely ignored so you can make everything from scratch using an engine.
Can Record the whole thing so it can be replayed for examination or reviewing

Building Holding Numerous Personal Stadiums:
Can be used by any player or group to create a visual addition to a chosen song.
Stadium is generated whenever player or group asks for one.
Initially a closed room, the roof can be opened onto a number of different environmental backgrounds to act as the setting for the music and special effects.
A number of preset environments can be chosen to act as the setting, base setting before alteration, or to be completely ignored so you can make everything from scratch using an engine.
Music played there is heard only in the stadium.
Illusions can be placed anywhere within or overhead the stadium.
Mana manifestations can be placed anywhere within or overhead the stadium.
Weather effects can be placed anywhere within or overhead the stadium.
Can Record the whole thing so it can be replayed for examination or reviewing.
Initially intended for practice so players would be ready to do a city wide version, now for everyone who wants to create a visual addition to their chosen song or personally made music.

The recording would be in 3-D so you could examine it from every angle using a floating camera.
Mana manifestations could be stood in to regain mana.
Weather effects would be real, but not harmful. (Rain, wind, lightning, and so on.)

Questions:
How much would it cost to play an official musicians song across the city?
How would you gain a large selection of songs for the winner to choose from for playing across the city?
Would companies be willing to be placed on a “potential source” list for future song playing rights?
Could the engine used for making the visual effects have a step up option that makes the visual effects easy and simple for the first level, with more and more detail and difficulty the higher up you go?
Would professional musicians want to have a shot at the system since they can do things with it that they can’t do in real life, and can have the show affect the environment on a scale greater than any music video? (And no music video would give the viewer the option of choosing a new location to watch it from.)

Apologies:
To Those I was speaking with for not replying to their posts, and for not posting anything for so long without explaining why.
The reasons I haven’t done either of these things is because I recently started a new job which is taking up a lot of my time.
Also the Tivo I use to record shows I want to record or watch later was full so if I didn’t want to lose anything before the next scheduled recording I would need to either record, watch, or delete the least important shows to keep from losing the more interesting ones.
Plus about the same time I started my job I started working on a document that would hold abbreviated versions of the ideas we probably all get hit by so often.
You can see a little of it near the top of the post.

Here’s a better example:

And finally, I just kept thinking that it would only take a little more time to finish everything, then it was over two weeks, which I’ve been told is the cut off date for replying to a thread.

So if you still would like an answer to your previous questions let me know, I’ll review the thread and try to answer them.

Topic: Gaming Concept: Player Created Music Videos Over City.

I’m attempting to paint a picture of a building in an MMO world that,

First: Plays a song that can be heard over the entire city.

Second: Creates a special effects show using:
Holograms caused by the song. (Ex: Shadowy old style Japanese swordsmen.)
Manifestations of mana caused by the song. (Ex: Blinding flashes of light and white or blue flames.)
Weather effects caused by the song. (Ex: Heavy rain and mist. Maybe lightning.)

Third: Present the idea that any player could earn the privilege to:
Choose the song played.
Design the special effects that would be shown during the song.

Fourth: Show a place where:
Players can go to practice making or make their own audio/visual show.
Show recording of their finished works to others for their vote to play in the “main” building.

After that are questions I’ve been wandering about, an apology to you and others who asked me questions I didn’t answer, and an example of one of the things I was working on that kept me from posting while I made trial and error efforts to straighten it out.

What else do you mean?
