Yo, it's me again.. and I'm looking for a computer that can basically.. handle anything. I was looking and I found some computers that were good, but the shitty part was; it has vista. I was looking for XP computers, but I couldn't find anything as close to the ones with vista.

My due date is July 4th (when there is a SALE and when my sister is gonna buy it for me)

I'm looking for something that has..

2gb ram
2-4ghz (a good processor)
Windows XP
That is about $1,200, or lower.

(No idea? Something alongside this;
http://www.circuitcity.com/rpsm/oid/207304/bundleId/19075/rpem/ccd/bundleDetail.do )

So if anyone finds anything along those reqs, please post here, kay? I've tried looking for about 2 days, and I couldn't find shiet.. Oh, and it has to be in those local stores (bestbuy/circuit city). I don't trust online buying.. because it can be fake and all that. Well, I don't mind it.. but it has to be from a trustworthy site.

EDIT: Should I get the Alienware comp? It's for gaming, but it has Vista (which I've heard that has problems)?

You could buy the vista computer then install the XP OS. I dunno if it works so CONFIRM it before you TRY it. Im no good at finding computers D:

Yeah, I heard that you could convert Vista to XP, but I also heard that it costs money to do it. A friend of mine said it cost $300 to switch it.. which is a crapload of money off my piggy bank xD

But what the hell, if anyone knows how to do it, PM me how ?

i actually have heard a lot of bad things about vista and i recently bought a vista computer and at first i thought it would be terrible.. but then i realized its not that bad.. its kick ass compared to my old comp and the only games i cant get to work on it are games that didnt work on my xp either OR games with a sucky gm\dev community such as the manga fighter ones

Vista = crap.

My dad's buddy from work has a son that is a big gun at microsoft.

The son is telling everyone quietly, "Go apple or XP, Vista is really buggy"
Its not bugs, its an anthill.

Go for a dell XPS. There lowest ones are still really sweet, and are under 1 grand.

At least try and be a little helpful, eh?

What's an XPS?

EDIT: Just googled it, and I don't think I want laptops..

It seems you just put in your XP cd and your there. Well when i get Vista it will work for everything since im probably not gonna get a computer for ages..

What you mean by the lowest ones? The desktops that are under $1,000 or the ones that are under $1,000 but when you customize it, it goes over $1k?

Because right now, the XPS 420 with the Quad-Core seems nice right now.. but the thing is, it'll cost over $1,000 if I just get a monitor.

LMAO. Dang! 6gb ram and 750 gb hard drive ? That's like.. too much for me lol.

Well, now I know that I should be getting a HP. I don't think Dell is that good anyway. If I get HP, I could just delete viruses and spywares with just a click of a button. ;D

Alright buddy, give me 3 reasons why Dell sucks?

1)
2)
3)

i bet you none will be legit.

Geez, the mods probably deleted the posts before it could've started a flame war..

Anywayy, my sister had dell, it kept crashing on her everytime she tries to start it. And there were no spyware or virus. It happened the 2nd day she bought it.

That was more than enough not to get the Dell. Also, some other person that posted her said that people from Dell ripped off parts and put it in their own model. Soo, yeah.

Anyway, from what I posted before; if I was to go and build my comp, would Circuit City, Bestbuy, or CompUSA help me build it ?

Building it yourself isn't hard, maybe tricky but certainly not hard.

i'm planning on building a new one in one month from now ( i need to wait for the next 2 paychecks lol)

Well, I don't want to risk it, I know I might end up messing up. But if I do try and build it, what parts are good to use ?
