Really looks like it will be the diablo we know and love as it is in isometric format and it is NOT looking like an MMO.

Wilderness areas similar to the vast open areas of Diablo2 are making a return.

OMG they just showed a WALL OF ZOMBIES! AS in you can SUMMON walls of zombies for your protection ;)

HUGE bosses to be seen as well. The screen was blurry and the lettering small and in French BUT it was something HUGE that they fought.

Will be both randomized and static maps, new settings/cities. Dungeons will be randomzed..new feature- adventures -where events are randomized.

New 3D engine developed specifically for this will also be used in starcraft, so some similarities there.

No character customization available, multiple claases, only choice will be male / female.

New health system to recover health when single player or coop. recovering health will help entire group making everyone a sort of healer.

Currently can support 8 players but will probably end up with less to ensure good gameplay.

Want to include pvp possibilities but will not comment on what sort of features yet.

No info on skills or talent trees.

Mobs in game are also collaberative, they work together.

New loot system unlike wow, u only see your own loot.

Adding an online community and online experience but no details.

No current discussion of auction houses or similar however they recognize they need something to stop in game trade and make a good system.

Want to include enchanting AND socketing with gear!

No plans for mounts.

Cool new inventory system that will include ability to trade with your other chars.

Will not be a mod- friendly game.

I'm disappointed with the graphical styling they went from, it just looks like and overhead view of WoW, considering we're now in 2008 I was expecting something dark, gloomy and more atmospheric.

What would be cool is a steep contrast between both the Warcraft-like graphics and a more Diablo 2 feel of graphics. It would be interesting to see them both worked into the game.

I must say though, I prefer these graphics more than the shit brown and dark grey of GTA4, which is supposed to be considered "next-gen".

Graphics are fine, don't really care if it's ultra realistic next-gen high poly crysis-like, as long as it delivers gameplay wise. At least older PC will be able to run it.

A possible case for the nice and peaceful graphics may be that this takes place 20 years after D2, so there was a time of peace before everything started fucking up.

i think it would be sweet if they made the amount of players per room = to the amount of classes available...this way u get to party with every kind of class and can have lots of different team combos, just have difficulty increase with more players or /players 8.

The devs have already stated that they're not going to make it a mod-friendly game, and I doubt anyone would want to mod it anyway, as it looks great as it is.

The characters in D3 look a lot like Warrior Epic.

Watching the gameplay this game look AMAZINGLY boring>_> The Dev said destrutable enviroment when its not fully just because you broke a table doesn't mean you have created the ultimate enviroment. The graphics are Ok last gen really not that im a graphics whore i still play doom. The combat is nothing special seems like they have made no changes or added anything cool. Crafting or Enchanting weapons well woopdy fecking doo like that hasn't been in a game ever. Overall the game so looks to be a disapointment and the only impressive thing ive seen is the cimematic.

I disagree. Gameplay is the most important thing however, art style still has its importance. If I'm going to be looking at a game for 100+ hours, I expect it to have a damn good art style(which Diablo II had).

The problem is, the fresh coat doesn't work for me. It looks too inspired by Warcraft for my tastes, as in it a more mature Warcraft but still has this cartoony vibe.

To be truly honest, I was hoping that Diablo III looked like a more darker Titan Quest but still used the old designs heavily.

Maybe I misunderstood the intentions they had when saying that statement, but what I am thinking of is all the mods on the 'unofficial' battle.net servers. The ones where you could hack. You might go out of the first town and see Diablo spawns and Baal spawns running around. I'm not sure if they meant none of those, or no mods on the official battle.net servers.

Actually, D2 has tons of mods. Singleplayer mods mind you. Some are like a total rehaul, and look nothing like D2. With a complete new story and everything. But I dont play diablo for itsingleplayer aspect, when there is such a great thing called battle.net

Rust Storm and all past patches would come by and ban anyone who even loaded any sort of Mod in there game. Mods usually ment Maphacks and Dupes galore. I'm glad there keeping the tradition.

Your PC should be able to handle it. Most of Blizzard games are PC friendly. I mean look at World of Warcraft, sure it may not look as good as a lot of MMOs, but it sure as hell runs on a lot of PCs. The more PCs the game can run on, the more potential Blizzard has of getting subscribers for WoW.

It's hard to tell. I know that D3 has been going under development for 4 years now, but not sure about SC2. I'd take a wild guess and say that D3 would turn gold before SC2, hopefully this year. Just my wishful thinking though. ~_~

Are you on 'shrooms or something? There were tons of mods for Diablo 2. Maphack isn't a mod genius, it's a hack. Here's a couple mods on this one site, a couple hacks for the unofficial servers were hacking is allowed as well: http://www.moddb.com/games/diablo-2

There were tons of mods. Mainly, if you went to the hacking enabled servers you'd see rooms with the title of the mod they were running. They had mods where Baal and Diablo ran around inside the town even.

when you say no character custom, do you mean they didnt show any or they specifically said there would be none?

They specifically said the only customization would be the ability to choose male or female. This alone is a huge step for the Diablo universe as you were previously stuck with whatever sex they determined a class should be.

yeah, the first time I saw the screenshots I was kinda disappointed at the graphics as well. But it's a smart business strategy after all. Many people fail to realize that Blizzard's "crappy graphics" games are what getting them so much money, because people with crappy computers can also play those games.

It's not bull, have a look around, a german reporter caught a glimpse of the teleprompter before the announcement and it read something along the lines of "Introducing the lead designer of Diablo 3".

3 : In the video there are 4 characters, a male barb and a female one, a male witch-doctor and a female one.

4 : He wasn't controlling them all, there were many persons playing in multiplayer using battlenet (he said it in the video...)

Im addicted to Diablo III already !

Let me point something out. First, SC2 was rumored to be released in December but Blizzard said yesterday, "It will not be out by the end of the year." However, Diablo 3 has been in development for 4 years already and has a team of 60 working on it. My guess is we'll see it in 1-2 years tops. Possibly for Christmas this year.

I just want to ask regarding the Character Classes.

Back then (at D, D2, D2LoD) there were many classes, now they Introduced 5 Classes (With the feature of choosing between Male and Female), Does this mean that they wiped out the other Classes? (i.e. Amazon/F, Assassin/F, Sorceress/F, Barbarian/M, Druid/M, Necromancer/M, and Paladin/M)

Probably a mix of old one's and new ones. More will eventually come out with expansions for sure.

I don't understand. How is this looking like WoW? If anything, some objects and textures remind me of Warcraft 3.

Diablo 2 wasn't really suspenseful until later levels; Act 1 was bland, Act 2 was the same with a little few 'Gotcha!' things here and there, Act 3 got interesting with tons of annoying little ratmen and traps. Act 4 was... hell, so loads of lava and suffering. Act 5 had to be my favorite, with the game penalizing you in all non-town areas of the map for idling to long and the arctic wasteland.

I hope I'm getting what you mean on the suspense stuff. :-/

At this point in time they have not indicated how many character classes they will have. My guess is at LEAST 5, possibly 7. Any expansion would bring more.

I'm putting my eggs in one basket and saying that the original 5 (Barbarian, Paladin, Amazon, Sorceress, Necromancer) will make a comeback. Witch Doctor looks like a replacement Necromancer though.

I hope they might bring back the two LoD classes (Druid, Assassin).

There has to be an expansion coming that will bring more classes, if they are following a trend. I hope maybe there will be a few classes to pick from to create more diverse parties.

I did, but doesn't he just summon a wall of zombies that last for 3 seconds? And the carrion bugs are just fired, he summons them but it isn't really a summoner. With summoner I mean that he can call forth minions that help him and last forever (or some time).

I was kinda thinking of an Archer class, but since the Amazon has specialized masteries for Archery.
Maybe or just maybe, they might make some Crossovers from one class to another.

You have to at least factor one pushback though, thats what they've done with each Diablo so far. XD

No, Starcraft 2 has a huge international following. Diablo 3 has been in production four years already, longer than Starcraft 2 was, plus it's made by a totally different branch of Blizzard.

i don't expect to see D3 this year, and mostlikely after SC2.

for all i know, there is a lot more to do when making an rpg compared to making an rts. RTS's can use several templates more frequently without fearing the copy syndrome.
When playing an RPG, you expect a unique touch in every area, whereas in rts'es there is an extent to which there is a "required diversity", but the diversity level for rpg's is simply a lot higher then rts'es.

in any case, for the time being, the release of D3 is a typical Blizzard release "when its done"

4 years is a very long time. But then again, we'll get a finished game once again. i sincerely hope D3 doesn't require an additional 2 years to finish.
