Diablos are good ! Nice story, great hack and slash rpg ^^ ! The first one is... mmm how to say... more scary ? scarier ? *sorry I am no good in english* anyway the first one is pretty good
also, you should get the battlechest, D1+D2+D2LoD ^^ !
And yea both have multiplayer, exept there's not much people on D1 lol ^^'''' But its nice to play it at least once..

Yes you can play online via Battle.net, and it's free.
Diablo is not in anyway a Korean grinder; you level pretty dang fast, but then it slows down at around 82+. Once you start doing Baal runs at 25 you can get 2 levels per run and they take no more than 5 minutes if you're in a good party.

you can play with others when you own a authentic cd key for diablo 2 (because diablo 1 is not needed here instead you should probably buy diablo 2 exp pack - LOD)
create a online account and you are ready to go (it goes pretty much as offline play, but 7 other guys can join you in one room (in one game)) quitting the game will automatically save your char (but all quests and monsters are reset when you start a new room

THAT IS ABSOLUTELY NOT THE GOOD WAY TO SHOW THE GAMEPLAY OF A GAME !
Both were lvl 1 and lvl 3-4 and the last was a hacked char...
WerewolfX
07-06-2008, 10:57 PM
yeah i know, just showing he what he's up for when he gets them, whats the point of showing the high level shit when what people need to see is the low level stuff, so they can see whats up.

Comon in diablo you get lvl 30 in one day (or maybe 2-3 day if you never played before) in single player (which is high enough to get the last skills and to finish the game on normal difficulty)
And you get lvl 70 in one day in multiplayer....
You're just a diablo hater heh Werewolf...

i have diablo 1 installed on my pc as we speak, and would have diablo 2 if i knew where my LoD key was.
Ergo my good sir, you are fail incarnate.

Why the hell do you insult a game you like then ??? (saying its like a korean grinder (when its a hack and slash rpg in which you lvl freaking fast) and showing crappy videos of the game (which don't really show anything about the game exept low lvl killing their first monsters and a hacked character doing anything...)....)
Anyway, its a good game, will entertain you for a while, its easy to find and doesn't cost too much.
(Answer to your other post right under mine : no its not a grinder since grind is slow lvling and intensive monster killing, here, you kill a few monsters in 2 minuts and you lvl up, after a while it becomes boring thou as it really become boss killing for gear (high lvl multiplayer)...) (related to that part : play the game in single player first ! )

i was showing him how the game starts, and it is a grinder, all you do is grind mobs/bosses for levels and gear.
Diablo is indeed a Grindfest you kill mobs you get gear end of story O_o
urqq im lost;
so pretty much diablo2 you play storymode..lvl up your character then you can use that character to play online? But only with 7 other people..doingg..?
WerewolfX
07-06-2008, 11:08 PM
the same thing as story mode.
You make a character on Online mode and you can play with up to 7 other players
DarkAztaroth
07-06-2008, 11:11 PM
Your character in single player and multiplayer are not the same !
you need to create an account for multiplayer and to start a new character
I still suggest to play in single player first because else you won't see most of the quests and story and the game will get boring much faster.

D1 has better environments(sp?). & D2 has more classes. I can never play either for long cuz the graphics are too outdated. i think highest lvl i got on D2 was close to 40. but i always lose my characters because i stop playing for a long time. it's a fun game over-all, rly fast-paced. great for taking breaks from grinders.

Um..diablo 2 is not really grindy online. I got to level 80 in a like a day..from level 1. You just need to know what to do at certain levels that's all lol.

yea just warp to the cow level lol and you'll lvl in no time.....man i miss this game

Why not try titan quest, practically the same gameplay but better graphics
no one plays online though except for the expansion pack

It's not grindy as in it takes long to level up but it is very repetitive in that you do the same baal/cow/tristram games over and over again through three difficulties. Then you get some topaz'd gear and grind on the same boss over and over again for half decent loot.
I will say though that the first trip through the game when you're reading the npc dialogue is quite AWESOME. The story and everything coming together, the scenarios, it's all super gravy.

these days on Diablo 2, if it takes you more than a week to reach lvl 90...then people consider you as a noob. Mainly because there are so many rushing services being given everyday, whether its free or requiring fees via the gcoin thingy (i think thats what its called...the forum currency you can use to buy stuff...)
If you ask the right people and meet up with the right group, then "grushes" and whatnot will get you a lvl 90 character in no time, and with the right connections, great gear.
My characters before I quit:
LvL 93 Strafezon (with Fortitude and Faith combo)
LvL 90 Lite Sorc
LvL 86 Magic Find Barb

i've gotta disagree with werewolf the game is a "korean grinder"
hoesntly in which game you dont do the same thing over and over again especially in low levels?
the point is, in Diablo i found it fun to do so i really enjoyed the gameplay
grind only exists when you find it no fun doing the same thing for exp, otherwise you wouldn't notice hence recognize it as grinding
for what is so good about Diablo...
1. fun to play classes, skill combinations
2. best item system ever
3. great storyline and graphics
etc
one of the best games ever indeed but i doubt its the best time to buy it since Diablo 3 has already been announced lol
yes its cheap now i know but also imo the golden days of D2 is gone

The Baldur's Gate series is my fave rpg series of all time. Wish I could play online or something with it. I never have either because I don't know how to play online or nobody is playing online, heh. Half elf fighter/mage/thief FTW. (Chaotic Good all the way btw) :p
EDIT: You can play baldur's gate online. (Aimed at whocarezzz)

hmm my bad
so what you do in low lvls in baldurs gate that you cant do in Diablo?
Junkyarddawg
07-07-2008, 04:19 AM
There is basically no grinding at all in Baldur's gate. EVER! Idk, you would have to play it. It is d&d in video game form so expect a d&d style of gameplay. You aren't going around slaughtering everything. Its a slower paced game. You control up to 6 characters at a time and the combat is closer to a rts. You can pause the game and give commands to your party members.

just cant imagine hows it like in multiplayer

Hey werewolf, mind helping me figure out how to play Baldurs Gate (I or II) online? Hehe. Please?
WerewolfX

Hamachi helps alot and it helps if you have friends to play with xD
Junkyarddawg
07-07-2008, 05:21 AM
Nobody I know has baldurs gate I or II and play it. *sigh*
Guess its for the best anyway *shrug*
I don't have my characters anymore so I would have to start a new one.
EDIT: I have a good idea, although I doubt this would work/people would wanna do it. Lets get 6 people together that have Baldur's Gate I and II and all of us play together and beat both the games . Our own lil onrpg d&d adventuring group hehe. Whatcha think?

07-07-2008, 05:36 AM
Man, I remember baldur's gate 2, just completed it in the last month, but sadly no one to play with so I stopped and uninstalled, still have the cds, but too lazy to install(yes too lazy for a few minutes of my time) But if you actually get 6 people then count me in.
Junkyarddawg
07-07-2008, 05:37 AM
Aww come one newone, install it, play online. Will be fun. So worth your time too. :p
EDIT: I guess I will make a thread huh? That would help wouldn't it? Although, I would like to do it like, Do BG I first then go to BG II. So jw, do you just have II or also I? And if you have I do you have ToTSC expansion pack?
WerewolfX
07-07-2008, 05:38 AM
i would have to download it, i own the game but my cds are fucked up and my friend ruined my Throne of baal cd -.-
Junkyarddawg
07-07-2008, 05:40 AM
Well if both of yall are interested thats 3, would only have to find 3 more. =P
I am about to make the thread so yea.
WerewolfX
07-07-2008, 05:41 AM
i'm totally either going Rogue cleric, or Druid
newone1
07-07-2008, 05:46 AM
Well then you won't be playing with me a few days because I don't have Baldur's gate 1 or ToTSC, and since rapidshare did that trafficshare thing which only gives me 80 k/bs or 100 k/bs sometimes it will be real slow. I'm going to be a berserker.
Junkyarddawg
07-07-2008, 05:47 AM
Depending on what everybody else is (if we get 6 people that is) I will either be ranger, warrior, or wizard. Just depends on what everybody else wants to be. The way I always played it (single player/npc wise that is) was usually 2 melee/tanks, 2 arcane casters, a healer, and a rogue. Could easily swap out one of the tank and one of the casters though, no need for two, I just liked having the extra safety and firepower. :D
EDIT: I'm not saying we have to do I then II, its just I would like to. If playing II only or II then I or something else means we get 6 people than we will do that. So yea. Its just more fun to make your character on I then import him to II, you are more attached to your character that way since you have actually used him before and have leveled him from lv 1.
WerewolfX
07-07-2008, 05:48 AM
i'm going multiclass cleric rogue so i'll be pulling double duty :D
Junkyarddawg
07-07-2008, 05:53 AM
Ok cool, there is a healer and rogue right there. Thinking about it and I am probably gonna go fighter (I) then go on to Kensai (II)
EDIT: I think we should move this discussion to the thread I made, offtopic-ness isn't very good. =\

Comparing it to a korean grinder is a diss to Blizzard. The game is absolutely no grind at all, just check all those boss runs they do to "level up" You can literally hit 1-70 easily within a few hours.
Junkyarddawg
07-07-2008, 06:37 AM
I am not saying it is a grind fest but...boss running is aka boss grinding, you are grinding the boss for xp/items. *shrugs*
BTW, wanna play BG I and/or II with us?

There is still a type of grind in diablo 2 though. It may be really fast grinding, but its still grinding.

Yea but, you can have a 90+ do chaos or baal runs.. or be jus that level, and LEVEL no problem
Rush from normal to hell, do chaos runs from 1-60 and baal from 60 and up.. u can do all this in one night and be 60-70 in one night
also, once u hit level 25 in the hell chaos sanctuary, u gain 3-4 levels a run until 50 then it slows down, its about 1 maybe 2 a game.. so easy ..im an addict as u may know lol
