OK I'm about ready to quit maplestory again because of this:

Everytime I sign on to train after like 10 minutes I get these buddy requests from people I don't know. The last two were from TuneUp and Archtallawar. Since I don't know who they are I click the X to decline and it makes my computer go crazy then maplestory shuts down and won't start back up for a while. I get an error saying something like Invalid Pointer.

What's going on and is it possible to get hacked by buddy request?

Just accept them and then delete them... I think that might work

I did that the first time I got one from TuneUp cause I figured it might be someone from OnRPG adding me and then maplestory just crashed.

I'm pretty sure Archtallawar is an OnRPGer. I saw a post he made, of looking for more friends, like yesterday. As for TuneUp, I don't know.

I don't think it's possible to get hacked by buddy request, though. Might've just got d/ced/ lagged out when you declined the buddy requests?

Well heres what I did when I got one from arch:

I didn't know who he was so I wanted to ask before adding him so I tried to whisper and it said he wasn't on. Then I clicked the decline box and a thing popped up saying something like Character not registered or something and it kept blinking and making weird noises. Then maplestory just completely exited and said Invalid Pointer on an error screen.

At first I thought it was just lagg or getting d/ced but I'm still not sure because when I added some other people it was fine.

y dont u just leave the buddy request alone? it wont stay there for ever ya know

Well luckybandits got a point you could do that but the invalid pointer thing... Have you ever gotten this before or did it just start like after a patch or something you could try reinstalling thats most likely what going on.id say missing files

Is that the error? I get that sometimes, it usually only happens from certain people though, but the other day it did appear after I went through a portal.

Just dont accept them then, simple. If O and X makes your comp crash, dont press any.

Yeah, Lefos thats the exact popup. And same here, it only appears with certain people. But it had NEVER happened before. I guess I just won't accept random buddy requests anymore, I was just worried that I was going to get hacked or something.
