View Full Version : My Apology to OnRPG
I started a thread where I stated my computer specs and how I was excited to have gotten an alienware. People started to make fun of me and call names because I bought an alienware. I snapped because I thought I could come here to make friends and started acting like a complete douche. I'm really sorry guys. I just didn't like being put down because I bought a new computer. I hope you guys can find it in your heart to forgive me. I said some really nasty things which I regret. I'm sorry to Koo in particular(I think that's his name) for saying some racial slurs out of anger. I know I need to control it. I just hope you guys can forgive me. You guys made some good points and I guess I took it the wrong way because of being called "idiot" and such. I also apologize to Cyber7Chink (Im going off of memory so I'm not sure if I'm getting the right usernames here). I was diagnosed as bi-polar when I was 17-18 and have just been having a rough time.
Again I'm truely sorry and hope we can be friends :).
Sincerely,
IPWN

Well, at least you apologised so let me be the first to congratulate you on that.
Anyway enjoy your nice alienware. I'll be upgrading my pc soon, still waiting for the prices of graphic cards to drop :D

Thanks man. I just got really upset that people just started calling me out as an idiot and stuff because of a computer.

There are only two things that could be going on in this situation:
A) They are jealous.
bee) They aren't in the know.

That doesnt change the fact that I Lol'ed when I read that...:-/
But, congrats on coming here and saying sorry, most people after being through a situation like that just make a new account and pretend that nothing happened.

Lol I was thinking of doing that, but it's better to address your problems. It wouldn't have been fair to the people on this forum to have done that.

Ugh, way too much.

BTW: Play on an RP server for Conan. You don't really need to RP, but the regular pvp servers are full of jackasses.

Why? Well they dont have any other thing to do and they want other people to laugh so they get atention.
I think it's nice that you apologized
I apologize for my bad english XD

Thing is my friend plays on pvp and he's going to be like really pissed if I don't play with him...in what way are they jackasses?
BTW is there any way a moderator could change my name from IPWN to something else.....I realize its pretty obnoxious. All caps.....I must have been high.

Dont worry about your name. There are far worse names than yours. We have one person in his community who thinks he is "king".
Bi-polar is something 1/3 of the Earth's population has to deal with, it can be a cruch or just a slight annoyance. Either way, you have to make control it. I have lived with it for 22 years now, and I have been doing great.
By the way, apology accepted.
One more thing, if you have friends who want to get mad cause your not doing something they want, they are not your friends.

Um, you don't even need to be apologizing. If I bought a new, expensive PC and got insulted because of it, I'd be fuckin' pissed. It's your money, most of these idiots deserve to be called names.

Oh also is it just me or does being bi-polar get amplified when in a relationship?

I browsed through your previous thread and i realised there were some issues. In the future you must take in everyones opinions and go from there and not just agree with one opinion. Also try to stay calm if someone insults you because if you insult them back and they have friends who will back them up then it may happen again. The flame war i mean
Also i thought that when you were talking about 'what can you do if the poor kids moms here wont buy them a better pc its not your problem'. I thought that was unneccessary, and hurtfull to me as we are not well off (we get by). but....
its good you apologized and hopefully the others will understand... also i hope you listen to my advice :)
a good way to get started on onrpg is just read around for a while looking at all the threads on the new games... look at the screenshots thread to see games you may think you would like and who posted them... send them a pm to ask if they still play them and if they wouldnt mind playing them with you.
well thats my thoughts
Marineking

From what I can see, even though flaming is against the rules, you were kind of justified in being angry. Sure Alienware is, in general, not the best of buyer-decisions, but most of the people who responded to your thread were simply acting like jackasses and trolling - completely ignoring the point of the thread, which was your question.
So anyway, apology not accepted, as it, in my opinion, is not needed. You have my welcome to Onrpg.
And I also think it's a point in your favor that you you apologized for a mistake you thought you made (Even if I think the mistake doesn't really require an apology on your part) instead of just chickening out.

Oh also is it just me or does being bi-polar get amplified when in a relationship? Well, its a 50/50 thing. Bi-olar can lead to many things and you have to learn about the triggers and how to take treat your condition during that situation. Yes, being in a relationship can intensify it, or it can make it supress it. It all depends on how your partner approaches it and if you inform them of your problems.
Also, bi-polar can be mild to severe in its conditions. Since bi-polar is just a name they classify many traits that can fall under it. So, you need to find out exactly what you have. I would suggest talking to your psychiatrist (?) and have them explain what exactly you have.
I have about 8 different disorders that are classified as bi-polar, but with mental practices and certain meds, I am able to cope with 7 out of 8 of them. The 8th one, we are still dealing with trial and error with different medicaltions and treatments.
I like to add this about the previous thread and this one...
Dont listen to any sides of the opinion. You need to learn to move on from the incident instead of dwell on it and listen to the majority of them. Dwelling upon a miniscule incident can allow it to grow into something huge, when it really is not one. Apologizing is good to a point. Only thing that really matters is if the "real" people in your life understand and can move on with you.
I suggest for you to ask for this thread to be locked and move on.
Enjoy your stay here at OnRPG, where everyone here is PMSing. Its an amusing rollercoaster.

I just need to clarify on what I said about them either being jealous or just not knowing what they are talking about:
Public opinion (and by public that goes hand-in-hand with "uninformed") claims alienware to be a bad buy because they just look at the face specs of the PCs and compare them to the face-specs of another pc at a lower price. By face-specs I mean the advertised properties of the computer (usually CPU, RAM, HDD, Video RAM, and sound card)...of these things; SURE you can get a computer with the same or better than what alienware offers. But, what you can't get is how well the alienware products are put together. There are more things that go into how good a PC is. For example: The wiring. If you get a PC with good "specs" for a cheap price; chances are the skimped out on everything they didn't have advertised. That means the cheaper pc most likely has crappy wiring. Good wire transmits data and signals and relays, etc., much faster that not-so good wiring. Also the overall design of the case is probably not as good; i.e. air flow and heat-sinking. Alienware's cases are HUGE and are about as good as it gets at handling heat. Also, they use absolute top-of-the-line wiring, and other parts used in the machine other than just the "Specs"-making components. Of course, people will argue that building your own pc is the best. But, really, it's not likely you can build them as well as alienware's pc's. And if you don't believe it, check the benchmarks. Alienware always owns everyother pc including whiteboxes. Just cuz they are well built.

Though as cyber said find what triggers certain things and try to avoid them .. like me sadly enough people (namely couples) trigger my depression which makes going out places seriously so fucking fun for me -.-
But enough blabbering, As said welcome to Onrpg, as some people say ignore what alot of people say around here, why? Their just asshats XD

That said I wouldn't get an alien ware, I've thought about it but I feel more comfortable just building something myself.

I guess the thing is that you can buy all those cables, and good cases, and the same parts and still spend less. This of course is assuming you know what you are doing, otherwise Alienware is infinitely better than dell/hp/gateway and such for the user that either does not know, or does not want to be bothered by configuring a PC.
Either way, I'd be happy with an Alienware, but I'd get exactly the same, if not better quality doing it myself. But meh... that doesn't really matter.
hehe
IPWN... you are fantasic for this apology (whether it was needed or not). It is very rare for someone to do such a thing on forums these days.
Enjoy your new PC no matter what anyone says, it's probably pretty awesome!
And as far as Age of Conan goes.... join the server your friend is on. I play AOC but I got bored quick as me and my buddy's schedule just didn't match up any more... so I got bored. I don't have any other buddy's with a pc that can handle the game now, so I will probably cancel it just because real life friends aren't playing with me. heh

Even with quality wiring, tower, and the bits and extra you still can beat the price that Alienware offers.
Also, if you look at the wirng in an Alienware it has the same model number as your typical Dell PC, I wonder why is that? So what is quality about the extras? Nothing.
What you are paying for is just a name that started off being great. Now they are poor at best when it comes to beating small name brand companies prices.
I seriously suggest for you to do some research at a parts level. You also havent looked at benchmarks lately.
BTW, the model number for the wiring is also identical to that of Gateway/eMachine's wiring.

Unless it was a basic station for work I wouldn't buy an HP. Most prebuilt machines from these companies have a lot of garbage in them with little room for expansion. However I don't know about that specific model that you mentioned though and right now I am too lazy to look it up.
I fix PC's on a day to day basis for friends/family and the only ones I ever have to fix are dells, compaqs, and hps.
Any custom built PC (that I made for them) never has issues, and outperforms those said brands easily.
Not only that, when you buy dell/hp/etc they install like 30 crap ass programs onto the computer that are absolutely useless to have. Like toshiba laptops for instance.... they have like 12 toshiba apps installed that are all buggy and shitty and stuff. Like Toshiba powersaver..... why in hell do you even need a second application for what windows can do natively?

Model number on wiring? I think you are looking at AWG (size of the wire in thickness), the difference is in the buss-speed. I would have got an Alienware; but it was too big to fit in the space I needed so I went with Dell's XPS gaming rig. Which, I don't regret. There is a reason they are the top-of the line gaming-pc and its not "just because the name is alienware."

As far as I know, Alienware doesn't use any parts that you can't get at your local PC shop for significantly less cost. Or for that matter, your local PC shop probably even sells high quality parts for cheaper as well (such as the cables).

From what I can see, the purpose of his thread was a question. He was posting his specs so that people could have a better idea of what he was capable of. Of course he was excited, I sure as hell would be too.
Next time, when someone annoys you, either ignore them or answer their question and move on. As simple as that.
This is locked before it turns into another flame-war.
