For anyone who has stopped playing Age of Conan, what were your reasons? Respond only if you played the final release and not OB because I hear it's the difference between night and day.

Reason I am quitting:

1. Itemization - I need cool items in mmorpgs. I found AOC to be extremely lackin in the 'cool flashy' item category. I know they are working on that, but I can't wait any longer. When I started, my guy had a purple turban, croc skin diaper and flip flops. I mean wtf.. flip flops in war? come on now.... thats just pure fail.

2. Friend + My schedule do not match up any more, so we cannot play together.

3. Classes - There is something wrong with classes and the way skills are done in this game. Example 1: everyone having the ability to hide. This should be only for rogue classes. Example 2: Necro pets can't hold aggro for shit.. so whats the point of playing a pet class?

I haven't switched to any mmorpg though. I did however re-install diablo2+lod because I felt like playing a fast paced game that has a nice item hunt to it. Also, because i can play d2 for 10 mins or 10 hours and accomplish something... 10 mins in an mmorpg is barely enough time to run to the next quest.

Didnt feel like playing alone. And also the class balance sucks.

Well, Rogues don't waste stamina hiding and moving while the other classes do.

Still very stupid,anyway.

I quit at 30, because the game is terribly coded and full of serious bugs, not small bugs.

Only that second life isn't a game and it's horrible. I'm sorry if I tend to want to play games with people I know....you know in real life. Though I do play alot of games with people I just know over the internet.

I quit because I simply got bored after getting to level 20. Once you're off the newbie island theres no real story, to advance the story the npc says "Come back at level 40".

High levels and gank groups will make you hate your life, but you can just hide as you see them coming into range. All classes that have hide besides rogue are basically completely hindered, their stamina drops wildly, and they don't do bonus damage out of stealth and such.

The opening gear in the game is pretty lame, but realistically, you are a slave that has just escaped near death. I'm sure you aren't going to jump up in flamboyant heavily plated lion engraved plate mail and be like "Boat crash? What ev." The gear will start to look better, but it just doesn't start cool.

Overall, all the classes are balanced except for... Rangers... Up until level 70 they dominate everything, then end game every other class finally gets their revenge on the rangers.

Their only good for ganking at 10-25, after that, any class can take em, just gotta be careful with cloth users

Lol I do have a problem with it though if the gear isn't going to be epic. I like the way the gear was done in WoW. Atleast how certain items were like revered and looked badass.

I have a character on some random server when I tried it on my old computer.....I'm going to be playing next week maybe the week after.....whenever my new computer arrives. I'm going to be creating a new character on my friends server if you want to play with us.

I think the idea is that hiding cannot be done by everyone in the same way. For instance, anyone can hide by going behind a tree or rock or something.

However, in rpgs it takes a special training to say 'hide in plain sight'.

Basically what I am saying is that hiding in RPG games is a skill like any other. For instance, not everyone can throw a fireball but the class that has specialized training can. There is no reason why hiding should be considered differently in my opinion.

the game on the PC just felt unfinished to me, and then my laptop couldn't handle it.

im a lvl 71 assassin and im having a blast...assassins are supposivly the hardest class to level b/c weak def, short ranged attacks.

but the game is lots of fun, this month (hopefully) there adding in the pvp patch for pvp armour levels and other shibby stuff.

if you play, try out bloodspire server, its a pvp server but thats the one i play on, ill hook u up with a horse when u get lvl 40 :p

i'm taking a break until they put a cap on gems. i got the game because it wasn't supposed to be gear dependent. as it is now, its the most gear dependent game ever created. got an 80 assassin and 80 dt waiting if they ever change it.

that, and pvp is all 1 shotting. mostly due to gems, other due to guardians/barbarians.

no groups and too much instancing, and didn't like the way the classes limited roleplay.

I won't be quitting WAR though. the beta is 100x better than AoC at release.
