....oh well. I've been playing a lot of these f2p mmos, not so f2p mmos(such as GW) and p2p mmos(ex:WoW).
From all these there were only few that kept my interest and that were not the p2p games.
I think I'm a historic-asia-addict, when it comes to mmos, because many of the games I liked were (kinda) based on the old Chinese/Japenese story.
That'd be
S.R.O., which was one of the first mmos, I've ever played. I must admit that that game is still one of my favs, but after I got into that mmo more and more I figured out that there wasn't really a 'community'. I'd say that 97% of that games 'players' are using a bot. And bots take the fun of a game, IMO.
Also note that joymaxx is a bunch of corrupt ar$eholes, that won't do anything, unless they get money for it.
That's not all about SRO, but basically.
However, I still like the game for it's features, it's solid graphics and the ambiance.
Next is
Conquer Online. A good game. but it has the same issues as SRO and on top of that it has really bad graphics(don't get me wrong, I don't have anything against drawn backgrounds, but at least make it good. It really is a pain in the *** to see that game.
Non the less I played it for quite a while. the reason for it were probably the really cool features as mining, the good pk-system and the housing.
And last but not least is
Guild Wars.
Well.....what should I say? It's god-like.
I loved almost everything about that game.
Ambiance,graphics,classes,skill-system,pvp, etc.
however, one thing missed and that was a very big issue for me.
It was the lack of 'RPG'. Sure, it had a good storyline and all but what then?
After finishing the story there wasn't really more than farming items/gold and pvp to it.
I played every campaign of it(all 4) and I enjoyed everyone, but it gets boring after a very short while....
So much about my mmo-experience.Now to my question again:
As you might have already figured out, I'll be waiting for GW2, since I loved GW very much and I know that it'll have more RP in it, than GW, so yeah.....I'm happy.
But GW2 will take a while, till it's released so I need something in the meantime. And I rly have no clue what I should play.
Lets face it....many f2p mmorpgs are CRAP and many p2p ones as well!.....
I was thinking about WAR, but then I saw the fighting and I'm worried that it won't be as action-ish as I want it to be. Anyway...even if I'd play WAR, it takes a few month and for that time I need a good f2p game. not a p2p one, since it wouldn't be worth the money, if I would start playing WAR.
Basically I'm open for everything. I checked the 'biggest and best...'-list up and down and couldn't find anything good that I didn't already try out.
I even surfed throug the net for a good game, but nothing.
To my preferences:
-good graphics. something comparable to the SRO graphics is more than enpough.
-something diablo2-ish......aka hack and slay. delicious.
-(if possible) something that is based on the asian culture or something not too spacey
and the rest is basically up to you.
if you know a good game that is p2p and has a 'large' and active community then you can mention it as well. :P
