    # Amoebic keratitis. Amoebic infection of the cornea is the most serious corneal infection, usually affecting contact lens wearers.[2] It is usually caused by Acanthamoeba. On May 25, 2007, the CDC issued a health advisory due to increased risk of Acanthamoeba keratitis (AK)infection associated with use of Advanced Medical Optics (AMO) Complete Moisture Plus Multi-Purpose eye solution. See CDC Advisory

    I'm scared

    How do I avoid this?

    Eh....contacts get dirty.

And a dirty old contact will cause some inflammation.

Also you do know they have some contacts that last a year or longer? Try those.

    She knows how to party.

Its fine to wear them longer. Two weeks assumes that you're wearing them every day, so if you just leave them around for a while its fine. Even if you do wear them every day it doesn't hurt to wear it longer. Just the longer you do it the bigger risk you run of getting an eye infection or something else bad. If they dry out I wouldn't try to resoften them and wear them. And if they're really dirty just throw them out. Otherwise its generally safe.

I get one-day contacts now so when I wear them I don't have to worry about solution and all that junk.

Is changing contacts that problematic? Why would you expose yourself to the risk of an infection? We are talking about your eyes and your sight. I would avoid ANY risks if I could. Just get new ones.

I would recommend not wear the contacts if it's already expire..

It has expiration because that's the only durability time the contacts can be use..

I always buy 1-year contacts and I always mark my calendars for expiration.. O:

It's better to be cautious... Eyes are important.. You can't return your eye sight anymore once it got damage.. ):
