    Default Hm... New to programming?

    I know basic HTML and other stuff, it's been a couple years.

    I would like to be a advanced game programmer, I have about another 3 years to go before I can actually start getting a job in game development.

    There's so much to learn though!
    Where do I start? Basic, like an idiots guide to game designing/programming.

    Python is a pretty good place to start. It's simple, and a high level language. It isn't really used in the gaming industry much, but it will teach you basic things. Lua is also a good language to start out with, it is kind of like C, and it has had some popularity in the gaming industry. (It was used for Neverwinter Nights, and Escape from Monkey Island.) After the easy stuff, C++ would be a good language to learn.

    Tutorials: Python C++

    A good IDE for C++ is Code::Blocks

    If you're going to get into game development professionally, C++ all the way.

    Yeap you will definitely need to learn c++ but I would start with learning BASIC like you said. Defiantly start paying more attention in maths class if you dont already.

    Good luck!
