Default Visuals And Gameplay PC Vs 360

So i have Dragon Age for Xbox 360 ..

and i just feel like the PC version is so much better ( never seen it in person ) but i imagine the graphics to look beautiful

What is the difference with games like

    Dragon Age
And Oblivion With PC Version And 360 Version?

it all depends on the spec of the PC

if the PC can run on max graphics it is probably better than 360 if not then 360 is better

The interfaces on the PC are usually much better. You have more freedom with all the buttons on the PC than you do with a controller.

Graphics are always better on the PC, unless your PC can't handle mid/high/max, then they're worse, because the 360 is just a PC that is stuck on medium graphics.

Though I suppose if you wanted achievements to boost your own ego or something, the 360 would be the way to go.

But wait! Steam and new games to the PC are putting in "achievements" too! (Mass Effect, Dragon Age)

most of the time a console version looks like the pc version at medium settings that's not always the case though seeing as a lot of game dev's now days are just developing console games and if there is a pc version they just add the option for AA and more realistic shadows ect.

PC is better, there are some features exclusive on the pc version
    well in some games
also dragon age in the pc version has a zooming feature that is not available on the console ports

Dragon Age on the PC has much better graphics and controls, it also has lots of mods.

    Same goes for Oblivion.

Also the people saying "the xbox 360 is like medium settings for the PC" are not always right.

Some newer games coming out for the PC like Metro 2033 look like the lowest settings when on the Xbox 360.

When it comes to graphics, when you buy a console you trade some graphical quality for the knowledge that when you start playing the game it isn't going to drop to 10 frames because your computer is a piece of shit.

Console = Usually cheaper, easier, lower end graphics
PC = Generally more expensive, more options, more mods, better graphics, little harder to get the most out of it

Essentially ease of use vs pure performance

All I know is I can't use joysticks for an FPS. I need that mouse and keyboard

PC is still the most powerful gaming console.

So, in all reality, PC will yield better graphics.

Then again, if you buy an Xbox360, your Xbox360 is generally the same as everyone elses, not the case with a PC.

I perfer playing on my 360, I'm just so much better with a controler.

But visually it depends on the game, Dragon Age is quite a bit of difference but comparing Mass Effect 2 there was little change.
Plus you know the 360 can run it.

Going to have to disagree as eventually I reckon the graphics will be on par with each other.
Or PC gaming does actually die, so the consoles will overtake.
Or PC and consoles merge so they are cheap with good performance but can also do spreadsheets and crap.

You can clearly notice the difference between the two.

    Xbox 360

    Pc

Plus the fact that you'd get better fps, loading times and AA on the pc version.

Ninja gaiden is good, but most people could give two ****s about the halo series not being on the pc.

personally I love pc, but consoles have a few strong points, one being Monster hunter tri lol.

Over all though, PC is always a better investment.
Just make sure that you either build it, or ask a friend who's computer savvy to build it for you.
seriously, pre-builds suuuuuccckkkk, especially "gaming" computers.

If they made all console games multi-plat onto the PC then I'd stick with PC gaming all the way....but they don't do that.

You play consoles for exclusivity which is kinda silly and stupid but MS, Sony and Nintendo love to sale their products and their hardware.

But meh the only reasons I believe consoles are killing PC gaming is because consoles are cheaper and they have more exclusive games nowadays. I also blame Japan.

But heh Japan is losing their power over the world since their recent RPGs have been shitty. Since the introduction of current gen western RPGs JRPGs are seen as linear.

But I think I have digressed a little too far. Play it on the PC if your PC can handle but if not then stick with a console.

    She knows how to party.

mods really make the pc the best (+mouse and keyboard (aim) and better graphics and dedicated servers), but now they don't like to let players mod and only want to release "dlc" and i think that sucks because the game probably wont last as long

i mean counter-strike, day of defeat, team fortress, garry's mod dota there's so many huge mods that came from players and i hope that developers will continue to let people do that in the future

and drm is ruining pc gaming too, no mod support, no dedicated server support and drm are the downfall of pc gaming, but some developers out there are still releasing modding tools to the public and not using drm and have dedicated servers if need be so there's still hope (valve and Bethesda come to mind)

and with steam's drm when companies actually use it works well, at least some companies are releasing drm removal after X time the game has been out

i pretty much hate pc gaming atm because they are just trying to turn it into a cash grab like how the consoles are, but it's even worse for pc since modding is no longer available for most games and you have to put up with retarded drm on a lot of new games

i have never once bought a game with any of this "draconian" drm and i never intend to (except steams drm witch is fine)

and on topic oblivion for pc is WAAAAY better then consoles, i love my mods deadly reflexes is tons of fun and all the graphics enhancers look great

i cant comment on DA:O cause i don't have it

Visuals- PC all the way. Is there any game that looks better on a console instead of a PC? This of course, is assuming top-of-the-line PC(at time of release of the console) vs the console itself.
Gameplay- Depends. I love controllers for RPGs, but RTS and FPS are really in the mouse/keyboard realm of control. Fighting games are better on controller than keyboard, but are even better on joystick + buttons(usually).

Trust me when I say, dragon age is.. a bunch of bad coding, it sucks.. even for a console game... I mean.. I preffer playing on a console most of the time, but dragon age is soo bad on it, I mean.. it laggs.. good console games never lagg.. lol.

and as for gfx,... even the gfx suck in comparison what other games on the consoles can do.

It's not really bad coding. The consoles just have heavy hardware limitations.

With low video ram and RAM and old hardware.

There are so many more PC games that look better than anything on consoles because of this.

Heck Gears of War on the PC looks better than any Console game.

The only time consoles come close to having graphics comparable to the best looking PC games is when they are first released.

Soul Caliber for the Dreamcast was one of the best looking games when it first came out.

But now with ever more popularity in PC gaming there are companies which continue to push the release of better hardware.

What is sad is that Crysis, an almost three year old game, still holds the title for best looking game ever. Metro 2033 can beat out vanilla crysis but not modded crysis.

Consoles are holding back the PC's true potential since companies like to do multiplat. My 3 year old 8800GT OC is rarely challenged.

You obviously do not know what you are talking about.

(I know it's a ps3 game but still, I don't have an xbox so I take consoles in general)

    Never laggs, framerate wise

    Never laggs, framerate wise

And.. so I say, games can look ALOT better than dragon age and still not stutter in frame rates, yet dragon age seems to lagg alot.

    BAD CODING!

Besides consoles have faster ram, and the OS does use only a minor amount of it, thus making it alot more usefull.

All right, I'm gonna call BS on FF13 and no stuttering. FF13 had pretty noticeable stuttering to many owners, and was less stable in some cases than its Xbox counterpart. Of course, some stuttering for 900% better graphics is an easy trade off.

I'm going to pull this out of my ***, but are there any games(that utilize very detailed graphics or computationally intensive effects) that don't stutter at all? Even on PC?

I can't comment on DA and consoles as I have played it on PC only so...
Quick Edit: I'm not sure where the direct comparison was made, but I believe gamasutra has the video.

ah, well.. ff13 didn't stutter for me.
but I only have ps3 ofc.

(and well..as for never drops in frames, ofc they do drop in frames, but never so low that I've noticed..
    so i edited my post)

but in dragon age, its constant framerate loss, almost all the time.

And.. about FFXIII that's soo waaay off..
