what's everyone freaking out about? he was (apparently) doing his job when, due to his own ignorance and stupidity, an accident occurred resulting in the death of 2 girls.
shit, stuff like this happens ALL the freakin time. People die, whether from natural causes or artificial causes. As people say, Shit Happens.
as for him filing the worker's compensation...why must he go on living the rest of his life constantly thinking about what he did? why must the ex-trooper carry the guilt? If a person is expected to carry a burden and deal with it the rest of his/her life, that person may not be able to handle it, and eventually go into depression -> suicide.
then what will people say? his close family will probably mourn him, but others? they will probably say "Good riddance." Now how different are these people from what he is trying to do?
A person's life is valuable if just for the fact that it is a LIFE. No matter what someone does or how someone lives in their lives, we shouldn't be imposing our own "justifiable" ideals and morals. That would be wrong.
