Anyone applied to Med School (or any Professional school)?

So as the title implies, I'm curious as to if anyone here has ever applied to Medical School. I'm currently prepping to take my MCAT this January and will apply this May. I wanted to know if anyone else has gone through this process and if so what are some tips/things I can use to better myself.

I know a lot about the process and the test and I know what to generally expect. My university has an Office of Professional School Advising (OPSA) that we're blessed to have; they are able to guide us step-by-step and let us know where we're lacking and/or need to improve on. We're about to start putting together out portfolios and begin our applications so that we can apply at the start of May.

I guess what I want to know is the experience that you may have gone through. Personal experiences are always the best when it comes to this type of stuff, so the more I can know, the better!

For the sake of the discussion, any one with experience applying to or being accepted to proffesional or graduate schools is more than welcome to chip in!
