    Exclamation Looking for a new laptop.

    Hey everyone! i am considering buying a new laptop.

    My budget is around 1000$, less is better i guess.

    Im fine with both operating systems

    I want to use it for:
    -internet browsing
    -word/ writing
    -games/watching movies only spec i need is the ability to run a fps shooter on my laptop, such as cross fire. I dont need crazy good graphics)
    -djing.

    For these things i have several things in mind i'd want in my laptop:

    a backlit keyboard (a must)
    a very good battery life
    a good soundcard
    lots of space
    14 inch or 15 inch screen
    a decent graphics card, that would be a nice extra.

    and since im going to be using it to DJ i will need a decent amount of ram.

    Any tips? id like to stay away from ; i have a bad history of shitty batterys with acer.

    Thanks! any suggestions very welcomed!

    Your not going to get a very good battery life with just about any laptop especially ones for gaming.
    The ones with good batteries are usually overpriced to begin with and computer with sub par hardware.

    The best thing you could do if battery life is a must is to buy a laptop then purchase a separate battery that is much better but you have to make sure the battery is compatible with your laptop.

    Acer is crappy all around. So you want to be a DJ? I guess the program you're using is FL studio XXL producer edition? A laptop with 3gig ram is enough for that one, so just get one with 4gig.

    Here is what you'll need to search for in a laptop;

    Ati mobility HD 5650 (or greater).
    4gigs of ram.
    interl i5 (or greater).

    If it's mainly for online gaming a Toshiba Tecra S11-11F will be enough.

    Nah FL is producing software,

    Ill be using Traktor, or Virtual DJ. The VDJ specs are here:

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

    The minimum requirement to run Virtual DJ is:

    * PIII 850 MhZ computer
    * 1024x768 SVGA video
    * DirectX compatible soundcard
    * 512 MB RAM
    * 20 MB free on the hard-drive

    RECOMMENDED REQUIREMENTS

    The recommended configuration is:

    * PIV 3 GhZ computer
    * 1024x768 SVGA video
    * 4.1 DirectX compatible soundcard (with front and rear separate outputs)
    * 1024 MB RAM
    * 200 MB free on the hard-drive

    RECOMMENDED VIDEO MIXING REQUIREMENTS

    The recommended configuration to mix video is:

    * Dual Core 2 GhZ CPU
    * dual output ATI or nVidia video card with 1Gb of on-board memory (no integrated laptop videocard)
    * 2048 MB RAM

    i would like to mix music well, and be able to mix video.

    any different suggestions now?

    FL is everything in one to be honest. Search the laptop I posted. It's definitely enough to run those software, even a normal laptop with the price of 400dollar would be enough. I mostly based on the gaming part.

    the packaged image line dj software that comes wiht FL is deckadance, a less then par program compared to VDJ or traktor pro.
