AC4 is much more enjoyable for me mostly because of the open world, sailing and exploring the unknown. There's also a bit more side stuff to do than in th pervious titles, not as much as I'd like it to have but still, there's enough stuff to keep you distracted from the main story for a long time. It's almost like Skyrim all over again in the regard that I often find myself derailing from my objective because I find something interesting along the way.
Haven't beat both games so I can't talk about the story too much but so far I really like it, the setting and characters are immersive, Edward is an interesting character and quite cool looking as well.
The only complaint I have about AC4 or AC games in general is that they're too easy and that I can't interact with the world/people and much as I would want to. I really wish they added some dialogue options to random people, not even side missions , just some random chit chat to get immersed.
But that's just my preference, even as it is I enjoy the game a lot and would definitely recommend it for purchase.
