Default It's done. Rift PvE = WoW PvE

Taken from the latest test server updates.

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    DUNGEONS AND RAIDS
    * With the upcoming addition of the Looking for Group tool, we're also in the process of tuning our Expert Dungeons to be completable with one appropriately geared healer per group, instead of frequently requiring a second full healer on top of support heals. Additionally, the power of the items purchased from the Expert Dungeon stores has increased to assist gearing up for further challenges. With these changes we expect more dungeons to be completed more often; as a result, the cost for Expert Dungeon merchant items has increased. Overall, this should net a similar or improved gain rate of plaque-purchased items.
    * Reduced the damage dealt by general Expert Dungeon NPCs.
    * Dungeon Daily quests are now obtained via the Quest tab in the Looking for Group tool.
    * All Raid bosses now drop 5 Plaques of Achievement for each member of the raid."

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    What this means?
It means Rift dungeons will end up being the same as in WoW: WotLK and the gear progression instead of being about getting rare drops is only about gathering enough plaques (emblems) to reach the "optimal gear" to hit raids. 5-man content will be trivialized so a random bunch of players can clear them with little to no wipes while facerolling every fight. The difficulty Rift had in comparison to WoW will be lost and the variety in different souls will become meaningless as the instances are ridiciously easy.

I've personally enjoyed the challenge, difficulty and the learning curve of the dungeons leading to raids. However I'm still interested in the PvP changes in 1.2 and those will hopefully keep my intrest in the game. But I'm afraid we are heading towards an identical WoW clone, in every sense. Once we get arena and "rated battlegrounds" I'm outta here :P

Don't get me wrong, I'd never go back to WoW after playing Rift. But suddenly I'm starting to look for the next MMORPG. Hopefully I'm wrong but for now 1.2 isn't looking too good in PvE sense :<

I certainly don't mind having some easier dungeons to run.
Though I'd still like some more challenging ones to be available ;/

You mean to say, people didn't already expect this to turn into WoW? The signs were there on the table...

Played enough to notice no big difference between WoW and RIFT.

The endgame instances and rift events were/are nothing like the PvE in WoW.

LOL @ you telling him what he has and hasn't done.

And the end game PvE was slightly different. That's NOTHING like WoW.

Yep and thats why i quit after reaching level 50 within a Month and collecting the same ****ing T1,T2 equip just to get ready for the next T3, T4 , T5 sets etc. Rift tried too hard not to be a WoW Clone but in the end it nothing more just with new Dungeon structures (where you think: Oh my gosh there's a challenge) and boring rifts...

On to the next game, i really hope Tera or Old Republic will go a different way.

eh, seen it coming hell it already happened i don't even see why there nerfing them they were easy as shit from day 1 of people starting to hit 50, they were all to tank and spanky and required hardly any coordination except for a few fights which is why after clearing the first raid about 2 or so weeks after release i quit. the game was way to easy and expert dungeons didn't take experts to do them.

btw did they ever break macros for warriors? it was always fun doing the most dps in raids on my champ by spamming 2 buttons.

People who hardcored the first month got easy epics compared to the masses who levelled slower and reached endgame after all the gearing nerfs. Not to mention there were a lot of glitches to abuse to knockdown the bosses quite fast. However where the game now stands you'd clear all the dungeons in WoW with entry gear in the time it takes to complete 1 T2 dungeon in Rift with entry gear.

The dungeons in Rift are/were A LOT harder than any of the instances in WoW. I find that hardly similar. Not to mention the group comps are way different.

    Old WoW*

Cataclysm made ALL bosses (except for TBC + WOTLK ones) allot more challenging.

Yeah true, i was one of the people who got to 50 after that Update. Higher Prices etc.

But all i mean is, first they're were like "We're not in azeroth anymore" and now they're like "**** it, lets just add the LFG Tool, Heal Bots"...

Thats what i meant by "They tried too hard".

well a group from my guild is still playing and every time i ask them about it they say it hasn't gotten harder it just keeps getting easier and easier with every patch, ill talk to them when they get on vent today about this one to see what they think wont be surprised if this is what makes them quit though.

anyways i try not to judge challenge off smaller group content like heroics/experts and have always seen them as being there more for the casual audience but when the first raid is easier then the t1/2 experts something with wrong especially when the t1/2 experts aren't even challenging.

The thing is your guild group never experienced the dungeons as hard. You could so easily farm full T2 at launch that it was ridiclous. The entry level at the moment is rather challenging and they are ruining it with the upcoming update.

Oh please. Rift was never challenging. Neither was WoW (with a few golden exceptions from Vanilla).

Have you ever done an expert dungeon? Because that's what the patch and the thread is about.

Enjoy your carebear WoW WotLK-like raids in your Rift.

As of right now, Cata raids are hard and they're only getting harder.

Which from my experience is also flushing their population down the drain as well.

Then again I've found arguing against people who believe the carebear crap to be useless anyways.
