    Smile FREAKs

It all started in the sixties. Alfred Hitchcock's movie Psycho was released. Lasers were invented. Marilyn Monroe was found dead. MLK had his speech, and oh yeah, F.R.E.A.K.'s were created.

    F-Futuristic
    R-Rare
    E-Elite
    A-Advanced
    K-Killers

The first FREAK was a man named Tomas Greggory. He was a scientist that made the formula that enhanced his physical skills and mental. He injected one of thirty formulas he concocted in the center of his chest. He called the formula Thirteenth Star. The good news was that he was skilled beyond anyone's imagination, physically. And he had the mental capacity of a genius squared. The bad news was that he killed himself.

His right hand woman, Tracy Egcrue, took it upon herself to perfect his Thirteenth Star. And eventually, in 1971, she succeeded. It took a few tries, a few lives here and there, but finally finally it worked. The first human to not have urges to kill themselves or kill other people, with abilities and enhanced performances. She noticed that it curiously worked better with people that already had mistakes in their genes, from something physical like being paralyzed all the way to being autistic.

In 1973 Tracy injected nineteen people. The most successful ones are Lucy Carter, Alex Eaker, Bethany Wilson, Billy Lutz, and Johnathon Searcee. They had relatively normal lives after the injections, but they had to live in with the FREAK ward and take some counseling. Oh and they had special abilities.

Lucy Carter- 22 when injected, she was completely deaf. When her powers set in, she got the ability to see words and see music, in colors. She could move the colors and it had the basic effect of telekinesis.

Alex Eaker- 20 when injected. He had asthma and had the ability to suck live out of people or give life to people.

Bethany Wilson- 25 when injected. Beth was born with ADHD and could run at super fast speed.

Billy Lutz- 24 when injected. Billy was born with Parkinson's Disease. Bill had the ability to move the elements.

Johnathon Searcee- 21 when injected. He didn't have anything wrong with him physically. He had the ability to see the future.

The best of the best FREAK's. They didn't really do much, though. Dr. Egcrue said that it was best that they stay inside their lab at all times. She said the world wasn't ready for them yet. Everyone believed her, and why not? She was smart, funny, and their creator.

So they stayed. Nineteen FREAKs in all. Every week they would get a schedule, sort of like a school. Most of the time the FREAK's would have classes with three or four of them together in one class. Since they all had enhanced senses and educated minds, it was pretty much like taking college classes. The classes are as follows:

    History
    Math
    Science
Training (This is where they used their enhanced senses in combat practice)
And the last class of the day was for their own special ability. Example: Beth had super speed, so she would spend that slot of time out in the woods or something running and dodging flying objects.

In 1988, Billy Lutz died. He got radiation cancer, and it wasn't treatable. It tore apart their family, the lab-workers, and the FREAK's. The FREAK's were released back into civilization, and led normal lives. They never used their powers again.

So now it's 2012. Tracy Egcrue's grandson, Berkely Creston, has found Tracy's hidden work. Tracy herself had retired from the FREAK's to become a therapist, and is now 76 years old. Berkely begs Tracy to restart the FREAK organization, and very hesitantly has Tracy obliged. She took Berkely to the old lab. It was still in partial function, treating cancer patients. But the old FREAK wing had been shut down. Tracy talked to Johan Helms, the owner of Glory Cancer Treatment Center. He knew about FREAK's. They worked out a deal, if Berkely can get at least four people to take Thirteenth Star, they could keep the wings of the center. They couldn't bother any cancer patients. And they had to have their own cafeteria.

Berkely built a cafeteria. He put up secret passcodes and fingerprint locks where the doors to the Cancer Center met the FREAK ward. By June 18th, Berkely Creston was finished. Now all he had to do was recruit FREAK's.

You are the FREAK wannabee. You understand that you can't leave the FREAK ward after you are injected. You understand that you have a five-point-three percent possibility of dying. You understand the rules, the consequences.

You will all have classes together. I will play Berkely and guide you on your expedition to FREAKdom.

    ~RULES~
    A.) No godmodding
B.) No really really bad curse words- ex: F-word or G-D word. Minor cussing allowed.
C.) Obey the rules Berkely tells you. Don't escape from your boarded up window. You don't have a life outside the FREAK ward, thats why you took the injection by the by.
D.) Show respect for cancer patients, Tracy, labworkers, and other FREAK's please.

(I love your avatar picture )

    Name: Joanna Rae Walker

    Age: 20

Personality: Joanna is just a pretty face, not very smart, but very loud and an obvious optimist. She is tough, and will stand up for herself no matter what. but give her reason to kick your A** and she will. She is also a bit of a loud mouth, and has trouble keeping things from just bursting out. Joanna may insult you a lot, but half the time it wont be intentional. She also has a bit of a potty mouth, but not a big one that will effect her much. When she gets insulted she probably wont even react, because she honestly doesnt care what anyone says, which contributes mostly to her horrid child hood. She also loves to take risks and does things that could possibly kill her. All in all, Joanna is boisterous, loud, and somewhat snarky with a sweet side to her.

Why do you want to become a FREAK?: Well in Joanna's own words, "Whats life without a little bit of risk?" Outside she had a minor life, she was destined to fail, all because she lived as a lower class person. So she decided to become a FREAK, after all, she always wanted to be a risk taker.

History: Joanna grew up in a lower class society, where she skipped school alot and was mostly getting in trouble. There wasnt much hope for her, which was why her parents decided against making her do anything, so she got even more bored with her life. By fifteen she was shoplifting, drinking, smoking, and everything she could possibly do. By seventeen she had been to jail about three times on theft and under aged drinking charges, and by nineteen she was told if she didnt straighten up she would be going to prison for her crimes. So, without much else to do Joanna turned to a different solution, and decided she wanted to be a FREAK.

    Name: Yvette Winterborne
    Age: 30
Personality: Smart, somewhat self reserved, and able to accomplish things easier when by herself. She doesnt normally like working in teams, but will if the time calls for it. She is self pleasing, selfish, and works towards a goal only if it benefits her in some way. With a tendancy to get sarcastic Yvette is always the one to make a snappy comment or remark.
Why do you want to become a FREAK?: Yvette was deep in debt, she owed nearly everybody money, and her house was going to be take away, she was offered this position and she took it gladly.
History: Yvette lived a meager existance, she was deep in debt before she even reached the age of twenty five, and had learned the hard way that money was not just an object at her disposal. By age thirty she was clearly too deep in, her car was reposesses, she owned nearly nothing, and her house was next to go. So she was offered compensation, she would be out of her debt if she became a FREAK.

    Name: Kari Mayhew
    Age: 25
Personality: Sweet and kind, very intelligent, but a little slow.
Why do you want to become a FREAK?: Kari is autistic, and thinks that if she takes the injection she will become normal.
History: Kari was given away even before her mother looked at her. It was decided that she would be adopted into a middle-aged couple with children that had grown to adults and had familes of their own. Her mother was sixteen when she had her, and didn't know she was pregnant until her water broke. Her mother drank and smoked and partied whilst pregnant, and could be the cause of the autism. Kari grew up loved, and cared for beautifully. She loved her parents, but always wanted to be normal. Kari is socially functional, but she has a hard time grasping concepts like irony and sarcasm. She likes things to be balanced, and equal black and white. When Kari heard about the Thirteenth Star formula, she jumped at the chance. She didn't even tell her parents.

((Great, all accepted. Anyone else can join in now, I'll post when I'm no longer accepting.))

"Well, Grandma, you were right. I really thought more people would offer." He looked to the withering old woman in the wheelchair in the corner of the bright white room. She was obviously a senior, she had white scraggly hair put half-heartedly into a bun on top of her head, her face was sunken in, but kindly, and wrinkles covered her body. The old woman sighed, "Times changed, Berkely. People are scared of that." Berkely nodded his head and turned again to the quiet group in the other room seperated by one-way glass. It was like an interrogation room. In light of the holiday season approaching, Berkely made sure there was a wreath on the door. But that was all, in the bare room identical to the one Berkely and his Grandmother were in.

Berkely pushed a green button on the wall that seperated the people. "Okay, guys. It's be about five minutes until the medical crew comes in and takes some tests to see if you're physically ready to take the injection." He released his finger, and wheeled his Grandmother towards the door. "Back in my time we only did one test-" She started. "Yes, Grandma, the blood pressure test. That was in the fifties, when they used a rock and some dirt." He didn't mean it disrestpectfully, and he smiled at her as she playfully touched his hand. "Shush, Berkely. I may be old, but in a way, I think we were wiser than any of this crazy machinery." Berkely just chuckled and entered the room full of strange, lonely people wanting to quarantine themselves from reality for the rest of their lives.

Joanna Walker could faintly hear the ticking noise that emmited from the tiny watch necklace that was shaped into a key, hanging around her neck. It was the first, and last item she had ever reaceived from her granparents, who after sending the birthday present died a month and a half later. Though it was sad Joanna knew nothing of the elderly couple, her parents never permitted her to visit, so the only time she met them was at their funerals. Now, Joanna was solely focused on that small key watch, thinking about her mother had told her before Joanna had left to start a life of solitude.

She had made Joanna promise to be good. As if she could really do something like that. Suddenly a voice made her jump, she looked up, searching for the speaker that the voice was coming from. When she failed to locate it she simply ignored it, going back to looking at the necklace. With a sigh she clutched onto the peice of jewlery, eyes glazing over somewhat.

"What lies ahead." She mumbled. Joanna then looked up, seeing two people enter, one a woman confined to a wheel chair, elderly, but kind looking. Reminding her fleetingly to the picture of her grandmother. The other her grandson, Joanna didnt have much to say about him. "Is this everyone who took the offer?" She blurted out, not really intending to actually say it. But it was true, there was only a few people there, two woman who were older then her, and a man.

Kari laid her hands on the table, while others paced. She tried to politely tell them that pacing was rude when you had enough chairs at the table to sit at. They just looked at her. Kari's brother, Anthony, had told her that she could be herself here. So, she would be. She wouldn't have to hide her 'complications', like her Aunt Melissa called them. The last time she talked to Aunt Melissa was when Kari politely told her that she had autism, not 'complications' and she told Aunt Melissa that her hair was dyed a wrong color, because brown eyed people looked odd with weird purple hair. That was a month before Anthony gave her a train ticket and a wallet full of money and a fake ID. Kari told Anthony that she shouldn't lie about who she was, and lying was wrong, and she couldn't take Anthony's money, because Anthony just got fired from his job. He didn't tell her she got fired, but told her that he 'quit' and then Kari told him that lying was wrong and you shouldn't lie to people, especially you're big sister because she had authority over him and Anthony was five years younger than her. When she said that Anthony's eyes got all watery and his ears got red, that's what happened whenever he gets sad, like when Grandfather Cory died. Kari wasn't sad when Grandfather Cory died, although she liked him a lot and he gave her sweets that her mother didn't let her have, and he talked to her like a real person, not like some stupid child with autism, instead of a very intelligent woman with autism. Kari loved Grandfather Cory, and put flowers on his grave every second Tuesday of the month, except on the fifth and the fourteenth because then Kari has to go to the therapist. She didn't like the therapist, and she makes sure he knows that, because honesty is the best policy.

There was a voice over the ceiling. It must have come from the tiny holes in the mirror in front of Kari, because of the weird vibrations this room has it would seem like it would come from the ceiling. It was a man's voice, and Kari thought he sound sort of like her father, except deeper and friendlier.

The girl sitting across from her had just whispered something, but Kari didn't tell her because she looked deep in thought. That was what the therapist said, not to interrupt people talking to themselves. It was rude. And then the door opened, and a very nice people came in. The old woman looked a bit like Grandmother Kathryn, her namesake, except Grandmother Kathryn was older. The man wheeling her around didn't look like anybody she knew, so it was kind of hard to see him. The girl sitting across from her blurted out something, and tried to hold her tongue because blurting was rude. But Kari had a hard time not saying things on her mind, so Kari said, "Blurting is rude. You probably should have called his attention first, introduced yourself, then asked if is this everybody who took the offer." Kari straightened her back, and got ready for the polite but firm scolding she got from all kinds of people who were near her when she corrected people's mistakes.
