Nightmares; there are many definitions.
Most beleive Nightmares to be bad or scary dreams.
Others beleive them to be spirits that haunt you while you sleep.
But the truth is very, very different from any of this. The truth is a dark and cold one that will leave you wishing you had never learned the truth.
"There was once a train, one carrying many passengers away from their home town that was burned down to a crisp. It was unknown where they were headed, but it was known the place was much like their own home town. Unknown there were many types of people on that train, psyche patients, doctors, children, lawyers. Each one of them headed towards their fate. These were new, troubled people that were being thrust into the open arms of Silent Hill. This town of redemption, loss, regret - guilt . . . these emotions brought them there. These emotions would keep them there. Their memories would be cast onto the streets in the form of monsters. These "monsters" were shriveled contortions of the passengers distorted souls . . . they would roam the fog. They would seek these people out in the hopes of finding comfort in their oblivion. The passengers would find themselves guilty, angry, scared, but even more so determined. Doors would be locked. Paths would be blocked. They would be forced to walk across the concrete flesh of Silent Hill until they found the truth. The train would soon stop. Soon, the fog would bury it in a shroud of soft white. This was where they would begin their walk through Silent Hill. Into this fog, they would all find a beggining and an end. Welcome, to Silent Hill."
So you read above yes? It contains very important information about what is going on. Before going any further I will break down the above paragraph and explain what will be happening.
There is a numerous amount of people all headed from their home town of Burkley to Silent Hill, all because their town was burned to a crisp from a wild forest fire that ravaged the small less then two hundred people town. The conductor of the train is a wickid creature, one of Silent Hills creatures that is there to take these people to Silent Hill.
Your characters will be the ones of focus, wether they be from the Asylum that sat smack dab in the middle of Berkley or your someone else, a member of the town who lived or worked there. Whatever it is there is something that you are guilty about, or sad, or fearful. Your fears, guilt, and anger will turn into a creature, one that you must defeat if you are going to find "The Truth" and get out of Silent Hill with your life. To everyone the Truth will be different, but the same.
Every being of your psyche will create One Boss monster, that in the end if you defeat will show you "The Truth" if you fail at this and die then you will become the monster yourself and can attack other players in the role play. If you manage to get "The Truth" you can have two choices, stay and become one with "The Truth" or you will be permitted to leave Silent Hill.
So anyways, all characters can interact with each other, as well as make their own NPCs to interact with. Not everyone should travel together, your all getting a different goal so travelling together makes since only if you are about to face a Boss Puzzle, or any other puzzle. In Boss battles you may have up to three Role Players fighting the Boss to keep it fair. In addition I reccomend not going into Boss Battles alone, as they will be hard.
As said, if you die/want to die/drop out, the monster you create will be what you turn into, or I will control that monster and attack other players. If you drop out beforehand I will post saying so and will turn your character into a monster, where I will then control it.
Power-play, you shall not.
God-modding, Is not on your agenda.
Be discourteous to anyone, and my wrath you shall face.
Post once or twice per week, If you are able.
More then one character, if you wish there is many slots available, up to four living characters if you wish.
GM events are controlled by me, and only me. When you arrive in a room or a "hole" you as the player MUST wait until I tell YOU what the Room, "Hole" or location entails before making another post. If you take ANY action in reference/relation to a GM event you thus Grant ME the poer to inflict the scripted consequences upon your character. There is no if and or buts about this rule. Not all Rooms and Locations will be a GM event, but most "Holes" Will be, thus you must be curteous and let me do my thing. So if you see any of the marked Rooms or Locations please be kind and let me go on with the GM event so that you may move on in the "Game"
Plot puzzles pertain to the over all plot, and will be marked by a (?) they are usually riddles, but some are also seek and find kinds of things, where you must find an object to open up the next part of the plot.
Weapon Puzzles will be makred wth (!) on the map. Then know that this is a specific puzzle that will grant you a weapon for completing it. Most of the time this ensues that you must find a "Key" Or another object that will let you obtain the weapon. Some times it will just be a regular riddle that you must solve.
A specific GM event that lets the player choose to jump down into a hole or another hole like gap, surrendering themselves to the will of the GM. You never know what will happen in a hole, because there could be many "Monsters" Or other things that could easily kill your character.
Boss battles though there will be very few and spaced out, are often done when theres a group of players together, if theres more then three or less then two a Boss will be harder and will most likely not show up if theres less then two players.
You can control Minor creatures, but please note that Boss Battles are under my control. As well as transition to the Otherworld is at my control as well. You are designing the minor monsters that continuously attack you, but please be aware that said monsters must in some way reflect your characters psyche and or reasons for being in Silent Hill. The monster you create will be for YOUR character only, and will only go after/attack your character. But, if there are other characters around that are standing in the way of your characters monster then they can be attacked seeing as they will be in the monsters way. Others can see your monster, and you can see other characters monsters, but most of the time they will not conflict with each other. Please do not overuse monsters, the whole scary part of Silent Hill is that the monsters are always around, but you dont see them very often. So if you post a monster battle please wait at least four-five posts or more to bring in a monster again, to keep up the creepy factor.
You have the right to create NPCs to interact with. These NPCs must have some revelance to you as the player, or else they should not be there at all. These NPCs are not secondary characters for you, and cannot be used for a great lenght of time. They also will not venture alongside you. The NPCs are symbolic and it is up to you as the player to decide how that is, basically these NPCs are your own personal "Maria, Eddie, or Laura." NPCs do not have their own monsters but instead have the monsters designed for your character they are subject to the same rules as your character and do not have individual sotry lines seperate from your character.
As soon as you enter Silent Hill, your feelings of hunger and thirst cease. They do not return, nor does your need for sleep ever seem to occur. Sure, you can do all of these, and your body will process it is usual, but you never feel the need to do so. Everyone has a reason why they are in Silent Hill. it is extremely important that you decide in your character application why your character is there. Every character receives a starter weapon.

Special Bosses and Monsters you need to know of-
Asphyxia- Asphyxia resembles a mass of female bodies gruesomely fused together in a chain. She has no legs and instead uses dozens of arms and hands, as she snakes across the ground and uses them for striking. She lacks eyes and her mouth is usually covered by the upper hands growing out of her shoulders. Asphyxia attacks with her numerous limbs, but she primarily strikes with her four main arms, often in a series of three swings. She also can spin around and knock the player down with her long tail section, or simply charge him head on, as well as open her mouth and let out a ghastly shriek which can send the player tumbling backwards. Her weakness is that she is somewhat easy to dodge, and her "tail" section is a vital weak point on her body; striking it hard stuns Asphyxia long enough to get a hit on her head. After taking enough damage, the player can forcibly parts the hands covering her mouth forcing her to breathe, killing her. Unlike the other bosses of the game, Asphyxia only has one combat form.
Amnion- Amnion appears as an androgynous humanoid figure attached to a large mechanical apparatus that resembles a spider. The human body is pale and bloated, like a waterlogged corpse, or a woman in the final days of pregnancy. It has no arms and its six spider-like mechanical legs are fused into the sides of its ribs. Another feature is a hose-like structure that comes out of its mouth and attaches between its legs, like an umbilical cord. However, it convulses and flows as if it has water circulating in it. Amnion's face also extends forward in slices, all attached to a mechanical frame which fits back together. The spider limbs also end in very wicked claw-like instruments. Amnion has a wide attack radius and can knock the player down with most attacks. It can take a great deal of damage before falling. It attacks both with wide, sweeping motions and vertically angled assaults with its front legs. Also, when it inhales and extends its face, it sprays gallons of toxic bile from its mouth that can damage the player. When the player comes within arm's length of the creature, it will sometimes leap straight up in the air and slam down, knocking the player back if they doesn't evade the assault in time. After taking significant damage, it will shift its form, no longer depending on its mechanical legs, it now faces forward, standing upright, using the forelegs more like arms. Its attacks in this state are swifter and more brutal, retaining its attack pattern from its previous stage while varying it with the addition of some new attacks. It will slam both of its arms down, which inadvertently causes them to get stuck in the floor, leaving it vulnerable to attacks for a moment. It can also spray its toxic bile up in the air, causing a rain of the deadly liquid. Finally, it can also grab the player when they are underneath its legs, lifting them up and throwing them down without giving them a chance to break free.
Scarlet- Scarlet's monstrous form is well over 12 feet tall, and extremely thin. She has segmented armor resembling a porcelain doll that can be broken away to reveal a thin, fleshy core. The head of the doll is shattered and broken, showing it to be hollow, with a fracture along the mouth, allowing her to increase her bite radius. Her mouth is filled with needle-like teeth, and she is prone to letting out snake-like hisses and shrieks. She wears black Mary Jane style shoes on her feet club-like feet. Her hands resemble that more of a wild beast's than a human's with short, stubby fingers. Scarlet's main attack consists of swinging her long, clawed arms at the player, but she also attacks by slamming her fists into the ground, causing a shockwave. All of her attacks are fairly avoidable, however it takes a good deal of practice to do so. In order to damage her, the porcelain shell of her body must be destroyed. The best way of fighting her once all her armor is off is to hit her twice with two non-charged heavy attacks from a meelee weapon. As soon as she gets back up, she'll go to her knees rather quickly.Scarlet then enters a second phase in which she begins to crawl on all fours, much like a spider. Due to the breaking of her armor, she is fairly vulnerable to all weapons. However, she attacks much more quickly and can climb the walls and ceiling to drop down. Once she takes enough damage in this form, she finally dies and dissolves into a pool of blood
Sepulcher- He appears as a gigantic cross between a corpse and a tree. He hangs from his bloated, mutilated underside which looks like the mutilated trunk of a tree, with bits of bodies hanging out of it. He supports himself with his long arms and fused fingers,(making a three finger hand with four fingernails), which he also uses to attack. His face is dominated by a root-like, fleshy tumor as well. His "trunk" is connected by hooks to several bodies which are wrapped in a cocoon-like sack of flesh. When dismounted, he will crawl on his arms and drag the rest of his body behind him. In his first phase, Sepulcher attacks using his massive arms and by shaking debris from the ceiling to damage. After all the fleshy sacks surrounding him have been destroyed, he drops from the ceiling. He can be stunned with a melee or ranged attack, which is the perfect time to attack him. However, in both forms, his arms do a large amount of damage, and when on the ground he can grab the player to crush them, killing the player.
Pyramid Head- Across the series he is usually portrayed as, at his most basic, a violent monster. A deeper meaning given to him, however; sees him as a kind of punisher or executioner. He's typically attracted to those who feel an extreme amount of guilt or have an overwhelming desire for punishment. His acts of violence are not aimed solely at humans, as he has also brought harm to the other creatures that inhabit Silent Hill, hinting at a neutralness or even no relationship at all to the town or the Order's God, making him an individual being. Pyramid Head's appearance is that of a large, well-built human male. He wears a helmet, which is always hiding his face completely, and typically is seen wielding a Great Knife or a spear. He never speaks, but muffled noises can be heard from beneath his helmet on occasions.
Abstract Daddy- The Abstract Daddy appears as two figures lying on a bed, covered in a "blanket" of putrid skin, with the two forms apparently having intercourse. The two figures seem to be trapped in a rectangular board, with the "male" or upper figure's arms and legs dangling out the bottom. It moves on all fours, and the lower portion of the beast has the appearance of a bed with four posts. It is a slow moving opponent, but it can take a fair amount of punishment before dying. It attacks simply by rearing up and slamming its huge body against its potential prey, or by hopping on top of the player and apparently suffocating them by forcing their head into its "mouth", which resembles a vaginal opening.
Guardian-The massive creature twitches and thrashes around constantly, as if it were in pain. One of its hands is a huge axe blade which it strikes the player with and another claw hand. It has wing-like skin flaps under its arms, but even though they are tiny, the creature has the ability to fly. However, it never flaps its "wings", which means that it may not actually use the flaps to fly, and uses some other method, such as telekinesis, and only uses the flaps to steer. Its face is elongated with a mouth full of huge fangs and the skin around its head is torn, revealing many black eyes and muscular tissue underneath. It also has a fleshy bulge on its chest which is seen as its "weak point." The creature knows this however, and sometimes shields it with its hand or axe. The Guardian can also trap players and keep them, some see it as them being held hostage, but its actually the Guardian protecting the Player from other creatures.
Feral- They appear as skinless, heavily muscled canines with fresh blood dripping from their bodies. As large dogs, they are very powerful indeed. A strange feature of their heads is the fact that they have no ears or eyes. They move very fast and attack by nipping at hands or lunging. If they strike with a lunge the character will be pinned the ground and bit at continuously until the character frees themselves or is killed. Otherwise, they are very mobile and occasionally difficult to hit, especially in groups. They are commonly seen feeding on dead corpses and carrion of various sorts. They growl before attacking, roar during, yelp when hit and let out a high pitched whine when killed. They are most efficiently dispatched using a steel pipe.
Lurker- They appear as bald humanoid monsters with huge claws. Their legs are fused together or bound by layers of dead skin, so they drag them uselessly behind them. Their faces are blank save for a huge, vertical slit down the middle of their heads, filled with horrific teeth. Most notably their wrists are severed and a series of three, sickle-like blades are grafted on to the stubs of their arms. They use their arms to crawl and attack. They slowly move about by crawling on their hands, dragging themselves forward. However, they attack with alarming speed. They swipe with their long claws, and, when at a medium distance will lunge at the character.
Needler- It appears humanoid, but its arms and legs are replaced with very sharp blades which it uses to walk around, as well as to attack. These blades are grafted onto the severed wrists and ankles of the creature. However, its legs are double-jointed. It seems as though its head had been removed, especially evident as it approaches. However, its sharp-mawed mouth is located between its legs.
Nurse- with very deformed and damaged faces, twitchy movement and an attraction to any source of light, remaining frozen until alerted. They are dressed in pink nurse uniforms, and, when radiated with the flashlight, one can see a fetus growing inside their wombs. Turning off the flashlight will lower the chance of being attacked by a nurse, however this also hinders the character as they are plunged into darkness. Normally they travel in packs of three or more.
Schism- Their most distinct features are their head, which is elongated and ends in a cruel blade, and a single elongated arm. Its mouth runs down its entire head, and it splits vertically, much like several other monsters in previous entries in the series. It has a set of dull teeth that run down the entire length of its head and when its mouth opens its tongue can be seen flailing about. However, it usually just uses its bladed snout and wicked claws to attack. Speed is a great quality that Schisms have, therefore the wisest approach is to run away most of the time.
Siam- They appear as two humanoid figures, one male and one female, horrifically fused together and tied with a series of bondage gear and straps. The male side is the attack side, and his arms are morphed into huge, club-like appendages. He also appears to be wearing some sort of chest armor. The female is fused into the male's back, with her hands tied above her head and thereby the male's as well, and her legs also tied, dangling uselessly behind them. The Siam's movements are ape-like. The creatures deal heavy damage with their arms, however they are fairly sluggish. The female side is significantly weaker than the male side and damage is increased when attacking it.
Smog- It appears as a man with an opened torso and his head reared far back, with glowing, inflamed lungs and other glowing orange tumors sprouting on its body and especially its throat, as well as glowing orange eyes. It is a tall, spindly creature with an opposable ribcage, which opens vertically and can be used to attack. It spews a noxious black gas. This gas continuously leaks from their mouths, and flecks of burning embers are also present in it. Smogs are difficult to deal with due to their danger at both long and short range and their high amount of stamina. At close range, they can attack by swatting him with their opening rib cages. The easiest way to deal with a Smog is to shoot when their lungs are exposed, typically before they're about to exhale their noxious breath. As a whole, the Smog are best avoided
Swarm- Swarms are large, beetle-like creatures with a flexible, leech-like mouth. They have shiny black exoskeletons and large wings with which they use to hover and attack. Swarms attack by latching onto and draining the blood of the character. They hover in the air for a moment before latching on, giving the character a small amount of time to kill them.
(Yes all of these monsters except for two of the bosses are from Homecoming. I did that because theres way to many silent hill monsters, and we needed a few basics and bosses to begin with. Anyways, you make your own specific monster for yourself, so you can use that or one of these if you need.)
And finally, before we go any further. "The Truth" will be explained.
The Truth- It appears in the guise of a young female child, with an unknown age, seemingly between six to ten years old. The child never shows her face, but what can be seen is pale nearly transparent white skin, and long brunette hair. A pink sun dress with blue flowers is what she wears, along with the hat that hides her face from view. Though there are many names and forms that The Truth can take the most commonly seen one is the little girl, who approaches all living beings in Silent Hill and will help them towards their goal. She is usually seen when there is a puzzle nearby, and she can sometimes give words of help to those who cannot figure the puzzle out. Some times the puzzles will involve her, not directly, but indirectly where the name that she used to have "Katherine" is used in a riddle or a faceless picture of her can be found, looking out towards a setting sun, in a feild of tall grass. Some indications that you are nearby her, would be the song that she continuously sings, a latin lullaby that her mother (Or the creature depicted as her mother) would sing to her. In the end The Truth is both dangerous and an ally.
There are two forms, or more like defense and attack bodies, that The Truth takes. The first is Defense, after morphing from the Child that she is thought to be, into a creature that stands on all fours, with skin much like ceramic that is said to sheild her, in this form her front to legs become almost like a preying mantises legs and instead taper off into thin needle like blades. Her head twists upside down so that her face is for once showing, her eye sockets are down where her mouth should be and empty, and all she has is a slit for a mouth filled with razor sharp teeth. She also has a thick black tail that protrudes from her back, with spikes used for batting at someone. In this form her body is well defended as well as she can attack because of her long range abbilities.
In form two, her attack form her ceramic skin is shed and she goes through a second metamorphosis. In this form she is once again standing up right, but slouched over, her arms drag all the way to the floor and are still the long thin blades as in her defense form. Her head becomes more like that of an animals and her teeth are used more for biting and tearing. This form is weaker, because she is less defended and is only able to attack using her arms which are clumsy and often too slow to hit the target, and her teeth which protrude from her snout like mouth.
These forms will only be revealed to those players who wish to give up and die. You may be killed by either form, or if you want to fight before your last moments you can do so as well.
Here is the song that can be heard when The Truth in the form of "Katherine" is nearby:
Somnus paulo Katherine
Cras est dies novus
Find in veritate verba cano
monstra non inveniat
Katherine, in unum habeo,
Ignorantium shreiks screams et mortuorum
non nocebit in lectum
et corruent in ea clauduntur lumina somno
ab orbe greges mendacii
Vestibulum ante oculos eorum
Mommy erit back soon
nunc autem meum Katherine
And Here is the image that will sometimes be found in some puzzles:
Anyways! Good Luck and have fun! Posting lenght does not matter as long as it has depth and is not something like "She attacked the monster" A more acurate portrayel would be "She lunged foreward with her knife in hand, and slashed at the monster with a quick jab to its stomach."
HOLY CRAP I LOVE YOU BLOODY: Here is teh mappy that Bloody made for me She even put the beggining Plot Puzzles and Weapon Puzzles on there !
