Excellent. Downloading now, since I wanted to try PSO2 anyways. Cheers to the team there, and hope they can translate even more with next version.

Yeah they said they think Item names/descriptions, etc are server side. They probably aren't server side, but just haven't found them in translations yet. Are the translations in good quality, or does most of it not make sense? :P

Either way, I'll definitely try it out with English patch. We should get a guild going if there isn't one already.

How is the latency from US? Is it noticeable?

amazing translation, except i disagree with some choices(names, certain sentences), but that's no biggie. personal preference.
and the item drops are server sided, so those cannot be directly translated. however, affixes and stuff is, so it doesn't matter that much.

I'm assuming this means its patching after I press the giant button but is it supposed to take a very long time? I accidentally applied the english patch before I ran the game to patch it, so I don't know if its messed up or not because the bars seem to never really move...

It's not messed up and yes patching will take a very long time. I'd leave it running over night since the patch is more than a few gigs.

Took me like 1-2 hours to fully patch. Currently playing and enjoying it. It's very unique. I'm going to take a break though. This game is definitely best played with friends. :P

PS: Go the Elf type race on Ship2 server and you'll see plenty of English speakers. ^^ The robotic race is relatively empty, and not sure about Human one. lol

I know it's going to sound strange. But I'd actually recommend playing on Ship 4 because in an ironic twist, I had the most fun playing with people from 4chan than anywhere else on that ship.

I met some nice and helpful people on Ship2, and for a while my chat was spammed with people speaking English. I think Ship 2 is a good place for me to go. By the way. I'm confused. Are you saying the 4chan /b/ f@gs play on Ship 4 in PSO2? Confused~

He probably means /vg/, not everything 4chan is related to /b/. /vg/ can be a decent community when they want to be.

    Question

    Quote

    Known issues - August 1st
    * The following are believed to be server-side and cannot be translated by a client patch:
    - Item names and descriptions.
    - Title names and prerequisites.
    - Matter Board names (possibly)

    * Much of the story/descriptive text is untranslated, as are most Event Tablet names.
    ------------------------------------------------------------------

Well not knowing what item you have just kills it? Story line would be nice instead of mindless slashing. What are peoples experience with this patch so far? I'd like to get into it, but from what I'm reading this is alot of gigs to download/install time just to see 2nd hand.

    I can actually play now

I got past the tutorial pretty easy, but then I just kind of ran around aimlessly trying to find an npc or a way out to do a mission lol

It's better than not getting any translation I guess. It's good enough to hold off until english release.

good to see a english patch also for the new players, i know most of you dont bother visiting the foreign section but there is also a big pso2 thread if your interested with helpful links and people if you like. some of the guides might be useless now with this english patch but it might still have some handy information to get you going.

Fun features for PSO2 that I found:

    - You can change your class whenever you want at Class master, and each Class has its own levels.
    - There is no Stamina system in the game. Play as much as you want.
    - You can easily change weapons, armor, gear sets - all inside dungeons or out.

    WoW
    No Man's Sky (PC)

    Anyone know whats wrong?
When I click on pso2launcher.exe I get the following error message:
"Windows cannot access the specified device, path or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access the item"

But I do have the appropriate permissions..... how can I not have them I'm the system administrator...
But the pso2launcher.exe icon is all weird and has a lock on it I've never seen that before.

When I click on pso2.exe it gives me the little splash image, gameguard check, the the splash image disappear and nothing ever happens. I've waited hours now and nothing ever started or popped up...
