I really used to love this game. I hope they get back on there feet it is a beautiful world they created and unfortunately just did not make it the first time around.

I would translate their "f2p" model as an extremely limited trial.
It's not even worth being called a "freemium".

It's even worse than swtor "f2p" version, dont even bother trying to play this trial.

I love how they still haven't updated the matrix even though they've made so many changes as to the gear, money limit, etc. that are limited. They upped a lot of the restrictions because so many were saying it was too limited to ever return, or make it worth trying for that matter.

In case you haven't seen the news, we've announced the official date for the Vanguard Saga of Heroes free-to-play launch: Tuesday, August 14, 2012!
We didn't want to keep you - our most loyal and dedicated Vanguard citizens - waiting any longer, so we've released all of the free-to-play features for you to experience FIRST!
The changes include:
Feature Matrix and FAQ: We've updated our free-to-play feature matrix and FAQ. Check out the special inclusions we've added for veterans! If you have any additional questions, feel free to ask them on the discussion thread linked below.
New Website: Our official Vanguard website has received a major facelift and has a new URL - http://www.vanguardthegame.com.
Vanguard Marketplace: The Vanguard Marketplace offers several categories to browse - Services, Mounts and Pets, Housing, Appearance and Equipment.
Removed Class Restrictions: We removed the class restrictions for all races. You can now create that special combination of character that you dreamed about making!
