On the serious note. I'm following mediatechnologie. It's all round in terms of programming, but it mainly focusses on website development and phone applications.

Theater. I don't plan to be an actress or anything like that, I want to help build sets and work with the lighting and sound.

I wanted to major in Photography, but I'm not sure anymore since I know more about using a camera than my film major cousin and I've already started making money from it in less than a year. Only reason I'd do it, is to rent out the equipment. Otherwise I'll probably go into being a creative director or business major.

Management engineering. It's pretty much a software-oriented take on industrial engineering. I'll be starting my second year this September. :o

Nursing. Possible minor in business if i have the time. Cause why not, murses are needed and always be needed.
But who prays for Satan? Who in eighteen centuries, has had the common humanity to pray for the one sinner that needed it most, our one fellow and brother who most needed a friend yet had not a single one?

That's kinda why I decided to go into programming, since it's in such high demand and probably will be for a long time, if not always. I originally started going to school for Literature and Creative Writing but I didn't think it would be very easy to get a steady job other than teaching, which I really don't want to do.

As far as CIS and IT go, it's pointless to get a Bachelors. All you need is experience and you can easily get a job at $60-70k/yr. Get a quick Associates and you'll be able to make around $80-90k/yr. Not sure what you consider a "real" degree, but even an associates isn't required to get a "real" job. It just makes it a little easier to get your foot in the door. I know plenty of people who prove that point.

Actually we agree. I'm saying it's pointless to get a degree just to have one, you can use that money you're gonna spend on a liberal arts degree to start your own business instead, or just go out and get a job. That way you've got 4ish years more experience than everyone else your age, all without the major debt.

I think if you're GOING to get a degree that it should be something boss awesome like engineering, math, etc., otherwise just go straight into the workforce.

Oh I thought what you were saying was it's stupid to waste your money on getting certified for a specific field, instead of just getting a full 4 year degree. You're talking about some fields getting you nowhere I guess? Which I think is kinda true, but it's really about doing what you love. Unless what you love is money lol.

The actual reason I went into programming was because I am absolutely in love with literature and writing, but its so difficult to make a stable living as a writer so I decided to get a much more practical job, and programming is going to be in demand as long as technology is around.

Got my BS in CS degree w/ emphasis on HCI/Interactive Computing elements from Georgia Tech last year.

In it I learned some: programming, research methodology, UI/product designing, and human psychology. Was very interesting.
    Messing around.
