Default Kickstarter for Richard Garriot's Next RPG: Shroud of the Avatar!

Richard Garriot announced today that he has begun work on a new RPG called Shroud of the Avatar. This new game will be full of great fiction (storyline), and many other innovative things that made his Ultima series so great. I'm pretty sure it will be an online MMO, but feel free to correct me. He has a Kickstarter project which he opened today and already has 1/5 of the backers. It's getting backed very quickly, so be sure to back it if you want and you can ensure yourself access to beta and even alpha.

Richard Garriot is the man behind the Ultima series, and Ultima Online is the longest running MMORPG (unless someone can prove him wrong? o.o).

Alpha is expected to start in December 2013

Anyways.. Here is the Kickstarter page.

The video is on the Kickstarter Page!

PS: Feel free to move this thread to the appropriate section if you feel it doesn't fit the F2P MMO section. Thanks.

Multiplayer Online Game - which can also be played solo player / offline

Giving the option to play offline instead gives me the impression it'll have lobby based persistent world servers kinda like what Neverwinter Nights did.

    PVP that minimizes greifing.

then looked below that and saw this,

"An incentive-driven system will draw players into the challenge and intrigue of the PVP experience, whether they become the hunter or the hunted!"

    yeah, totally buying that.

Only plays Burst Magic DPS Classes and Healers.
    Playing MMO: FFXIV (Ragnarok)
Waiting On: FFXIV:Heavensward, FFXV, KH3, Tree of Savior Saving For: An Epic Computer

This game looks epic.. I haven't seen a GOOD multiplayer game with offline capability as well (like Dungeon Siege, NOX, etc) for a very long time. If you're a true fan of Richard Garriot, I'd suggest at least donating the 25. You get the beta and alpha access. ^^ I, however will wait it out and see how great the game becomes. Either way, it's exciting to finally see a hero of the rpg world coming back into the rpg genre and making a truly epic game with 21st century tools.
