Work out the root of your depression and then look at what you can do to improve that particular aspect of your life.

I personally had an easier time dealing with depression after I stopped taking medication.

Oister said it right. Depression can be cured by grabbing a twelve pack, some fireworks, and a group of guys and gals.

Surround yourself with friends and family. Get out more.

I find that physical activities like running or jogging really helped get shit off my mind. Depression is really something you just need to vent out you know?

Now I wish I could put this less confrontative and still more clearly, but atm I am letting this message go out as is. I hope you don't see it as an attack, a lot can be lost in writ and such I am not claiming to present more than what's the most plausible to me.

You made that angle for yourself after decided not to answer his question, but a diffrent question of your own.
    That surprised me.

I don't factually disagree with what you say as facts. I didn't find myself in doubt about your personal story. Also, I am not trying to give you advice and especially not advice on the past.
Our disagreement I read as me defending his question against yours. "Is there anything I can do?" needs to be answered with a "no", before you bring up "Do I have to accept that no". Funnily enough the second question is a no brainer and wouldn't be asked anyways. In short you discarded his question, made your own and it's surprisingly a question that no one ever would ask in seriousness and expect much discussion.
I think you emphasise your position more than his and that's the result. No one is patronizing you for what you did, it is what it is.

Dont think alcoholism makes things much better. a Depressed person is more likely to abuse the shit than use it correctly.

Well, He never told us what he has tried, and I dont feel like repeating the same old shit. So I said something that hasn't been said. Everything had already been said, I thought of something that hadnt been said, and said it.

I see your point, but I saw no point in saying what everyone else has already said, with little to no information on what he has and hasnt tried.

Well, there's your problem right there.

Some people are depressed because they don't do anything. Some people don't do anything because they're depressed. In both cases, going out and doing things helps.

do you live out in the country or in a city?

Sometimes when I don't want to hang out with people, Ill go out to eat alone, just to be around people, but don't have to deal with the social aspect. Im getting out and don't **** with myself at the same time.
