Default Anyone tried 5Street the dancing pvp mmo...

I just heard about this. It's supposed to be quite popular -- a kind of dancing mmo where pvp is done by dance ( i dont know how it works). anyone tried it or can guess how the pvp works?. main site has its own flavour of 70s era music.

It's not really pvp, since the lobby is run by NPC dj's you request what songs come up next, and you can choose when or when not to dance. With that said, once the song starts you can go up to someone and challenge them to a certain mode of dance, highest score wins of course...but that's really no different from comparing scores with another person on any other game, plus this game I'm pretty sure is dying. There is also no chance mode and it's pretty cash shop hungry.
    Random Game Livestream.

Playing GW 2, PSO 2, PoE, LoL etc!

    blech then

shame huh. you would think a dancing mmo pvp game cud be fun. did Audition gain any good popularity?
i guess it would become boring after a while because it is just be clcking button dance move combos.
but then they have audience voting right?
but i guess its pretty generic.

how many if they sold the game as a box item with dance pads?
or even a singing mmo with microphone that tested your voice pitch as you tried to sing.. or somthing..
what happened to a guitar hero pvp mmo..
argh i know so little about music mmos :/

Played this game approx. 4-5 yrs ago......its a good time killer i must admit, very different from many of the generic dancing MMOs that are around...I'll write u a pros and cons here based on my experience so u can decide for urself if u wana try it..

    Pros :

    1) Hall based dancing simulation instead of room. Which means u will be competing with everybody in the hall ( location ) who are dancing the same song.

    2) Lots of dance modes available, my favourite is the team dance and team battle, its where the pros show off their sync dancing in a hall to the noobs.

    3) Couple dance is great too. Especially if u have bought those special couple dance moves from the store.

    4) Purchasable dance moves either using in game currency or real cash. Don't think i need to go into this

    5) Highly customable avatar fashion from cash shop like Audition and any dancing game out there.

    6) I'm not sure about NA servers but the one that i played was the SEA English server, Different halls have their different set of songs you can pick from the hall dj. A good mixture of k-pop, c-pop and English pop.

    7) Unique settings for dance moves. I'm sure you should have read from their website on this function.

    Cons :

    1) As you know since its a hall based game, it means that if a hall is over populated (eg : 50/50 ), your game will lag if you have a bad isp connection. And the thing here is, maybe out of the 50 who are in the hall, only 20 are actually dancing, the other 30 are just chatting with friends or guildmates there ( habbo hotel? lol ) . Latency issue is impt for dancing games i guess cos it will cause you alot of misses if you lag.

    2) High lvls ALWAYS gets the top few positions in the hall if they dance. Reason is that usually these high lvls have better Special moves for them to get higher scores during the dance, the special moves here is very diff from audition, you can actually chain a series of special moves here to chalk up your scores and those high lvl players usually have more than 3 special moves in their skill set.

    3) Lots of dance moves in the store that requires real cash to purchase. If you are the type who prefers to be different, then i guess you would probably call this a very cash shop heavy game. Same goes for fashion.

    4) During my time, high lvl areas are very very very quiet.... not much players go there cos usually the songs from the dj in those areas arent really nice, mostly only the crazy high bmp song lovers would venture into those places, so if u are a casual player, Problem number 1 would most likely to be happening to you.

That wraps up my information on the game based on my experience, the game might have changed somehow over the years but i'm pretty sure most of what i've mentioned hasn't change much.

The first time i saw the thread i thought it was high street 5. That's also a dancing game similar to audition, idate or love beat.

these dancing games look so nice.

im trying to think how i wud design it so that
    1) no problems with lag (this is a big problem i bet)
    2) make it really f2p and fun
i bet the biggest dancing pvp games have heaps of players and are rly profitable.

They do. try playing Audition SEA. Tons of players it makes it difficult to enter a channel.. profit? players are willing to spend no matter how much just to buy them a pair of wings and other accessories, tops, bottoms and sets that actually cost the same as real clothes.
