Their development team just isn't as amazing as their marketing team. The itself game is very mediocre, the business model is archaic.

wow - old and inflates subscription numbers with asian players (who btw have a different and better business model than NA/EU), have a cash shop built into the game now and sell the exact sort of items you can buy in a F2P game (in my opinion, it is to gear towards a F2P transition when titan is close to completion)

ffxi - old, no one plays it, and it would have already shut down if it wasn't hosted by an eccentric company like SE

darkfall - darkfall who? this game is even less relevant than hello kitty online, because at least hello kitty gets talked about, even if only in jest

ffxiv - developers are all japanese/mired in the past, the game itself has nothing to do, it will tank hard and I can't even say it'll go f2p cause, again, SE

in general, you can't use old games as an example of a business model being successful because most mmos get their core playerbase at launch or near it

Also the fact that they are old and people STILL pay for em, should point that it does work.
    F2p usually work like this:
    A )Cash shop dependence
    B )Freemium
    C ) Tripe
Oh forgot Asheron's call on the list which still has an active Playerbase.

nah, just one of my favorite macros for silly comments.
but this is not the topic for a discussion about P2P or F2P it's about WS beta keys.
however if you want to continue this i will happily take it to pms.

I've gotten invited to the stress test, but I can't log into my NCSoft account, I've used the forget password, but am still waiting for the email so I can change my password and log into my account.

The funny thing is that I didn't forget my password, it's just not working.

Friend codes are only for the actual Beta testers, not the people who only got invited to this weekend's stress test from what I understand.
