Default My neck of the woods- The snow

When we get snow, its not really that bad, but it seems like we are getting dumped on pretty good right now. The local news has called our area (Farmington MO) the trouble spot.

I measured the snow in the driveway and its 10 inches right now, and it is still snowing.

If you look in the background of the pic, you can see someone has slid off into the neighbors yard.

So, how is it in your neck of the woods?

I'm jealous though, I want some more snow.

Its not done here. It supposed to avg out to be an inch per hour here to a final build up of 16 inches before its done. Tomorrow is supposedly clear skies and then Sunday, it happens again.

It hass been a while since we had snow like this and I do miss it. It reminds me of my childhood on base in Germany.

Saw it in the OP immediately after returning to the thread lol.

As long as it stays steady east I'm cool with that. My farmers almanac has promised me a wet (but rainy wet) winter...so far, it seems to be correct. I don't mind the cold, but I can't stand the snow. It could be -15 here every day for 6 months for all I care, as long as it doesn't snow.

We got hit with a long ice storm last night. So now it looks like this outside (not my photo):

It's unfortunately layers of ice so there's no way in heck I'm driving in that.

Up in Montreal, there's nothing; super annoying. I love me some snow ('specially since I don't drive).

Didn't snow much in Hutchinson, KS. Looked a lot thicker last night, so I guess some of it melted while I was asleep.

Haha, I hear it always gets bad in Missouri. Minnesota; we got a day's worth a snow for the first time this week and got maybe 10 inches of snow.

    >___________> oh lawd I was coming home and it just started flurrying. Not bad, but I'm thinking yesterday was the calm before the storm.

I crashed my car for the first time last year in the snow. It really wasn't a big deal, but it left me with some PTSD about the damn snow. I get sick to my stomach when I see it snowing.

Only good thing about snow is the ice....cause i can ice fish.

Other than that, im stuck in pretty much the same crap as cyber right now, considering i only live like 3 hours north of him.

I'm in London, Ontario right now and it's green and ugly. I don't want it to snow until early January though because I've got a conference I need to go to near the end of December and if I can't drive there, then there goes a 50 dollar ticket and a 3 night hotel reservation.

Well, I am starting to hear the dripping of water and every now and then the cracking of the ice. Most of the roads are looking good (minus mine), and it looks like its going to be a good day.
