I break down my impressions of Aura Kingdom's combat, social features, and overall feel in our third and final preview write-up for the game.

I made an account just for this :P

If I'm reading this question correctly, the answer is 32
sense the game has 8 classes and 4 Eidolons to choose from the start
    8*4=32. Like what Bellhala stated

It would be a total of 32 different combinations. There are 8 starter classes, and 4 starter Eidolons.
    Classes: Guardian(Melee), Ravager(Melee), Duelist(Melee), Grenadier(Ranged), Gunslinger(Ranged), Sorcerer(Magic), Wizard(Magic), Bard(Magic).
Starter Eidolons: Grimm, Alessa, Merrilee, and Serif.

Each class has a total of 4 different combinations from which to choose.
    (1 Class x 4 Eidolons) = 4 Class/Eidolon Combos per class.
    4 Combinations per class x 8 different classes = 32 Combinations.

And just for kicks, if you were to include the mystery class, It would be a total of 36 combinations. (9 different classes x 4 combinations per class).

    Best of luck to all!

If they're are 8 classes, and 4 beginner Eidolons, that would mean each class is able to pick between 4 Eidolons, and vice versa,
    so 8 x 4 would equal 32, 32 combinations.

if we ignore the mystery class, then we have 8 classes: Guardian, Grenadier, Sorcerer, Ravager, Gunslinger, Wizard, Duelist and Bard with 4 starter eidolon: Serif, Merilee, Grimm and Alessa.

8 classes multiple by 4 eidolon which is 32 combination.

For each beginner class, you can pick any of the 4 Eidolons

And there are 8 beginner classes

So the total number of combinations is 8*4 = 32
