Default Best free sandbox MMOS to play? (not eve)

Anything good to play? Me and my cousin are looking for somethign that is well populated and free. Something along the lines of runescape where you can travel and make things, houses as well.

Hhmmmm well there's Wurm online, you can potentially help people with their projects(once your skill levels are high enough) and they'll give you coins for subscriptions(so you can get your skills past 20)
Um...otherwise...I can't think of any that aren't still in development or dead.

Wurm sounds like it may fit the bill. If you play on the PVP servers (Epic Cluster), you will get double skill gain. There is also a thing called the Curve on the Epic Cluster, that makes your effective skill level higher than your actual skill level. For example, at 20 skill (the max for a f2p character), you will have an effective skill of around 40, which is decent. There's also that fact that you can get premium in-game via the in-game currency. If you're ok with it, you can do a lot of manual labor (digging, brick making, mortar making, farming, raise horses, etc...) for money and then buy premium once you get enough. If you get premium and can get your skills high enough to make high quality tools, armor, weapons, etc... you can start selling those for a bit more money.

Haven&Hearth and Salem are also free games that are worth trying out.
    Cheers

ArcheAge if you speak Asian (that's a language as of... Now)!

There's a couple 2D ones I played but they all got boring fast (since I can't seem to find them).
