For f2p games Aion and Tera are some of the most popular games out there besides Rift.

SWTOR is a star wars based game so obviously the game is going to have a huge sub base seeing it's star wars after all, doesn't mean the active player base is that many tho.

Tera and Aion have solid sized communities, not too big and not too small.. but it's enough to play happily with others without feeling like your on a deserted island.
i have play Aion EU with Rya long time back and read every forum and i no how death Aion EU was
and rely you dont even have a clue

i have play mmorpg.s for 10 years and trust me Aion and Tera dont even come close
    to mmorpg i have try

ever try Conquer online ?? that game is almost 10 years old but have 2x more player base then tera ore Aion
Cabal online also very populair have play it for 4 years

but maby your right Aion is comming back maby of the new classes
but i 100% no that Aion EU player was beging for a server merge in the old days becouse some serves are death

but then again mmorpg games are Always going up and down

You keep pulling stuff out of nowhere like they're facts. Got proof to back up these claims? I highly doubt that CO still has such a large playerbase.

Those are extremely out dated I believe so its not really solid proof but I know CO has a loyal playerbase.

Also just because a game says it has 2m subscribers advertised on their website doesnt mean they have 2m players..

I hate when gaming companies do that lol.

i no Aion had a very hard time from p2p to f2p duo the lack of players
btw most p2p games going f2p and hoping to lure more playrers

its a complete war in the mmo market atm they do everything to ad more players
and some wont make it and shut down

but as far i see some countries rely love a kind of mmorpg

like Conquer online is very much loved by the arabic countrys and that is big
Rift what i no is very populair by Rusia ( i need to block alot in chat i cant read Rusia )
RF online is very populair by pll from brasil
Cabal online alot of germans play it

so maby am not sure that ea mmorpg is populair by a country

The irony is that Allods went from F2P to P2P and the P2P server is really populated, a lot more than the F2P ones.

    "2m subscribers"

For a game thats almost 10 years old, and has been published in many different countries. 2mil registered accounts in all these years. Thats what it means. The number of active accounts is maybe 1% of it. I'm pretty sure atleast Tera is still alot more popular world wide. Aion has always been overrated, and is in all honesty a pretty bad mmo.

Just go and play Aion guys .. EU or NA and see if it's a "small and dedicated" playerbase. The game is FULL on both, depends on the server though.

This population thing is going to go on forever without end.

First and foremost, we have to take in account BOTs. They exist and they do take up server population, though one thing I've got to commend TERA for is that they have next to none. Or atleast they aren't very common.

It's a dangerous market ploy to display your games population. If you had low population, people tend to stay away.
Here is a the server population status of TERA
I'll tell you now, it doesn't drop. It's always High.
Aion, does have bots and quite a lot of them.
Though when you log into Aion the servers say medium(Siel and tiamat).

Again there are a lot of bots if you've ever played Aion you'd know. However if you go on the fast track server there's a flood of players/bots. Though the fast track server is all the servers combined and only last till lvl 55, so what happens outside level 55.Well what happens in all games. The population splits off and is with legions/guilds grinding. You won't see many people for that reason. But I'm digressing.

Comes to the question which has more of a population, I'd go with TERA, because even signing on right now. My entire guild was pretty much on (40+ people), LFG and global is full chitchat. While in Aion my guild was disband and lfg was kind of a ghost town (level 55 Ispheal or what ever it is)

and if they remove all the game is empty

Back when it was P2P there were plenty of bots in Tera, so now that it's F2P it's hard to believe there are next to none. They are not the typical trains of bots if that's what you meant, but I bet it's quite crowded with bots...probably most of the people don't even know they are botting tho.

Honestly there's next to no gold chat spamming bots.
TERA on FTP release put so many chat restrictions, I can only imagine how difficult it would be for them to get pass.

Those are just goldspammers, not botters
I actually talk about gathering bots, grinding bots...and so on. I never really care about gold spammers as long as the game has a block feature.

Aion is a decent game, but I seem to go through an endless cycle of Game works fine, then all the sudden constant disconnects, week(s) later game works fine, then some time later constant disconnects. The game is almost too much of a headache to enjoy Shame...

That's on the server fault not the game itself. They might be having problems right now.I haven't been dc-ed from Aion .. since .. years ago when things were new.
