Default Will Dragon Slayer Be A Monster Hunter Online Ripoff?

Little is known about Dragon Slayer and Project E, but from the sounds of it, X-Legend intends to create an anime version of Monster Hunter Online and name it Dragon Slayer. What will come of the 2 games set to release this year by the Anime gaming giant?

Side Note: The video playing in the background is of Aura Kingdom, the most recent MMORPG released by X-Legend.

I played Aura Kingdom to mid level in what felt like ten minutes. I DO appreciate the artistic design and fluidity of the game - or rather, the potential. The animations had no transition animations, the characters sort of popped into the animation, but it was good, and I was impressed by the Gliding system as well.

I feel like Aura Kingdom, as with 99% of all Aeria games are rushed cash cow projects that make money for the first couple months they're there and then slowly die out, but I feel like the development team can do something really interesting if they put their time into it and I'd love to see a fully fledged boss-hunting MMO in their style.

Sounds like Monster Hunter, but really, what's wrong with that? It's interesting to see a cutesy developement team put their twist on a genre that is pioneered by Monster Hunter. But only if they do it right. A lot of cutesy anime development teams, like I said, rush their stuff.

A cute, anime-style Monster Hunter clone? I could get 100% get behind that idea.

I'm quite surprised by the feedback to be honest. I thought there'd be a lot of backlash to the idea, though I myself am quite fond of it.

why would there be backlash? monster hunter is a really fun multiplayer game, and we have no pc monster hunter games here, so if we get a "rip-off" that's good, then why would we complain?

Wasn't on the PC, but I personally enjoyed Ragnarok Odyssey. I'm down with this idea.

Kashis, yes, I get a lot of information from www.mmoculture.com, and I don't shy away from letting anyone know this. However, there are viewers on my channel that really don't pay attention to Foreign MMO news, nor do they even know the details of a lot of MMOs outside of those that they play.

What I do on my channel isn't just relay news to others that may haven't heard the news piece, but also break down each piece, while inserting an opportunity for conversation. I could easily link the news article and use their comment section there, but a lot of the times the articles don't have any discussion points outside of the details that the piece reveals. And even then, I'll reddit the link and start up a conversation on Gamebreaker.

I don't do videos for fluff, I try to relay news and details that not everyone, especially those in the west, will know about.

    @Topic
People usually just frown at the thought of rip-offs, though, again, I myself am pretty stoked for it. I tend to like X-Legend games, but I don't FULLY believe that they can pull it off this sort of combat system in any robust way like Monster Hunter Online is. Only time will tell, though.

He didn't show any game play of the actual game. That was Aura Kingdom in the background.

And just copied a lot of information verbatim from here.

You need to give credit to people if you are going to do that, Xaenex.

Could every mmorpg be a ripoff of another mmorpg? hmm, let me put my thinking hat on.

You know, in that case, why don't we all just copyright flag his whole damn channel if that's the case.

The west hasn't had an official Monster Hunter game in a while (aside from the one on wii / 3ds?) . Why not a big budget one released on consoles and PC? Would make some serious money.

You have my sincere apologies. The Description has been edited (It's rare that I don't link the original article/source of my information, by the way).
