ah ****, i loved wizardry
I wonder how Free Realms Lifetime membership people feel now.
i think its best to only play games which are run for love rather than money.
so the devs must still play the game and must be more concerned for the fun than because of a profit motive.
because the moment a big publisher steps in and runs it for money, they will always shut it down to push players to begin paying again for the next new title.
though of course, it worries me to think what if Champions of Regnum was shut down anyway.
Be warned - I am a major player of Regnum Online the mmo. I've been playing it for about 2 years and rarely go without logging in at least once a day. You can also look at good alternatives to Regnum such ase Aion online and Aika Online.
They explain their reasoning for each game in this article.
Wizardry? Nooooooooooooooooooo! :-(
Edit: But I can see how permadeath and PK made that game unpopular. I really want a Wizardry MMO, but it should probably focus on clearing complicated and huge dungeons rather than permadeath.

Free Realms and Wizardry??? Those were great games! I can't believe this. And I already know Sony sucks (if you try to post any music on Youtube). But man. IF YOU DEVELOP AN MMO THAT PEOPLE SPEND THEIR TIME AND MONEY ON THEN DON'T SHUT IT DOWN!!! There's an emotional attachment to the game and your character. It's like taking away a child's pet and saying "that's too expensive to care for so we're killing it".
Jan 14th 2014 -- Vanguard's Cave of Wonders releases today
Jan 24th 2014 -- SOE shuttering Vanguard, Clone Wars, Free Realms, and Wizardry
They first content update in years right before they announce the shutdown of the game? lawl
Are you kidding me right now, Sony?
I absolutely loved Free Realms. What a bummer...
vanguard had such potential when it first came out.
@marcipaans if like me not giving a shit as it was 35 bucks like 4 years ago.
I liked Vanguard :/ It was my go-to Fantasy Themepark. I remember when I bought it waaaaay back when SOE first got the game.
This one caught me off guard. SOE never closes anything. Hell they're still updating the original Everquest with a dedicated team of six.
