I just can't get addicted to Runescape 3 like I did with RS2. Back in RS2 days pre-EoS, I used to like getting the best gear because you really had to make the effort to make the money. Now everything is super cheap; the prices are ridiculously low. Old School Runescape is where it's at . I believe the population is still really strong for RS3, but it's just spread out too much over the number of servers they have. I think they have too many.

You can't know the population for sure. But after playing it, it seems to be true. There are plenty of people online in the main worlds.

If they removed 1/2 the servers it would help. Although that just means everyone would be fighting for resources.

The only thing people talk about other than what they are currently doing in-game is what the game used to be like. Having the same "back in *insert year here* the game was so much better" conversation with everyone you meet gets kind of depressing after a while.

Then you've got the huge disparity of wealth among players. "New" players would find it impossible to earn any of the ultra rare items in-game unless they get lucky either through gambling (PvP, dueling, whatever) or multiple rare drops from whatever the newest boss is. Skills have little to no use and they haven't for years, other than skills that directly affect combat. (When's the last time you decided to do hunter for fun or for cash? It's useless other than bumping up your total and getting a max cape)

Some items go for a few billion gold. I think that's pretty cool.
You can earn money by gathering and selling or crafting and selling. You can even play the Grand Exchange(Market.)
Staking in Combat or even murder.

As I said, I play RS like a money earning sim. lol

But, yes. A lot of skills are pointless and just there to make you sink time.

if you dig Runescape you should check out Eldevin, it's really similar but with more modern graphics and MMO features

I decided to check it out since I seen Romgor's sig. I'm not too up to date on Runescape but this game has 6 fairly large talent trees that you can mix and match, If Runescape has something like this now I may definitely revisit lol.

Runescape's hybrid system was like a mix of melee/mage/range from what I remember, but Eldevin's has 6 classes that you can invest points into as you level up so you can have a mix of skills from all the classes.

Currently playing: Eldevin Online as a Deadly Assassin
