you can see how many players are on atm at the top.
20k right now and earlier after school hours it peaked to 25k players...thats not dead at all...

If I remember well.. Didnt Runescape have like 250k users online back in 2004 or so?

I think thats what I saw back then. Were great times.

And that it already has 20k in classic compared to 50k in the current rs3 already tells that something is very wrong

Eldevin has talent trees for Warrior, Templar, Ranger, Mage and Prophet. When you level up, you get points to put into any talent tree you want. These make your skills stronger. You can buy any skills you want from a combat trainer, how effective that skill is depends on the points you've invested in the talent trees. So you could max out your Warrior talents and have really high melee DPS, then put some points into Prophet so you have a decent healing spell, and maybe throw a few points into Assassin if you want to stack crits with your Warrior damage.

It's a bit more mix-and-match than Runescape's "well you've used your sword 100000 times so now you're an expert warrior, and you cast 50000 fireballs so you're a badass mage while you're at it, and hey you shot 300000 pigs with your bow so now you're Robin Hood"

I loved Runescape back in the days. Very tempted to join back with a membership this time since friends keep bugging me about it.

I'd play 07scape but its members only and I don't like it enough to become a member for it. I've got no interest at all in RS3, if I wanted the kind of experience it offers there's a bunch of games that do it better and have higher population.
