If you're thinking competitive you shouldn't be looking at MMORPGs, rather games like:

    - Dota 2
    - League of Legends
    - Starcraft 2
    - CS:GO
    - Street Fighter
    - Quake Live

    etc

The person he was fighting was terrible. It took him like 15 tries to do his super. Is that supposed to be what's considered good? FFS I never play and I can do better than that guy (Chun Li). What I'm saying is it's not impressive he beat someone that's terrible at the game.

And there are plenty of competitive MMO's out there. There are tons of games with PvP in them, and it doesn't get any more competitive than PvP. I don't see how someone can classify PvE as competitive when you're literally not competing against another person.
Final Fantasy 14: Level 50 (ilvl 96) WHM, Level 50 (ilvl 90) BLM. Currently doing most endgame content.

Guild Wars 2: (Ehmry Bay) 64 Ranger and counting...

Diablo 3: 70 Wizard, 60 Demon Hunter, 60 Witch Doctor, 65 Paragons and counting...

Wildstar: 37 Spell Slinger DPS, and counting...

I think MMOs with full-loot open PvP are competitive. Then again, in PvE games players compete for ladder rankings over who played/spent the most.

Yep. LoL, SC2, and WoW are the biggest PC eSports scenes right now.

WoW has a big esport scene? Dota 2 has a huge esport scene as well. I'd say LoL, SC2, Dota 2 and CSGO are the big esport names nowadays, not WoW :/
