    Default TV looks too "real"

I've never been a big fan of watching television, probably less than a few days worth of time a year honestly. However with the purchase of a recent tv for the bedroom I have to say there's an interesting quality that's bugging me.

It's difficult to explain but some shows, mainly the "super hd" ones on Netflix looks to real, it causes the show to lose its "movie" touch. Instead it's like I'm watching it from the set or as if it's being recorded through a camcorder.

Anyone know how to fix this?

    Do you mean this?

Note that I have no idea if those instructions will be of any help, but I think the soap opera effect is what you are describing.

    I like it.
It's like Thor is actually walking around my house.

Sit far away. Wear an eyepatch.

It's not real as in "stunning" hd quality, but real as in you lose immersion and it no longer feels like a movie. The soap opera effect describes it best

Can't do anything about how it's filmed, Maybe apply some sort of blur settings?
